“Eve’s embrace of the snake that gave her knowledge…”
Funny story: I was actually reading the bible on the other day and was thrown back into the memory when I was a little girl in class of bible study.
I never could understand what Eve did wrong. Humans were naked animals and blindly obedient, and then she, the Mother, made a choise. She chose freedom, wisdom, knowledge and morality. She wasn’t tricked, she chose. She was told, eat the fruit and become like God and know good from evil, and it happened.
The Woman chose the higher mind and freedom, and then enlightened the man. She bowed to no man, not even the one who calls himself god.
In a way, that defined womanhood to me: Proud, wise, freethinking, innovative, independent. And men will try to tell you that it’s wrong.
