On Top of the World

So, this past year hasn't been easy. I mean, let's face it... a lot of things have sucked- that' just the way life goes sometimes, and sadly, when I look back at my tumblr a lot of what I write is random vent sessions. (Sorry guys) However, you have to understand that this is the place where I come to write how I'm feeling. It's where I can be myself and truly open up. This time it's a happy post- cuz I'm feeling on top of the world.

So, over christmas break I went on hiatus. After a horrible end to fall quarter, I decided to take a break from everything: SA, Friends at School, everything which is really hard to do considering that's the exact job description of my SVP office. But it was important so for two out of the four weeks that I had off I had me time. Let me tell you: IT WAS MUCH NEEDED. If anyone ever said that being SVP was easy, I'd smack them. Well, probably not really, but in my mind I would so it counts.

Anyways, I struggled a lot with the idea of coming back for winter quarter. I mean honestly- where do you find motivation to work a job where you are disrespected, harassed, and straight up bullied about stupid things that shouldn't even matter? Exactly. So, you could imagine my frustration in the fact those precious hours I had back at home were slipping by a lot faster than I wanted. The plane ride back was a nightmare. Even though it's only a 5 hour flight, it felt like one to Australia AND back. Longest day ever. I had this feeling in the pit of my stomach that dreaded stepping back into the office. I'm sure that every SVP has experienced this feeling at least once. The job is draining. You get no breaks. You're expected to be a machine 24/7... i'm digressing, but anyway you get the point.

When I stepped back into my office I saw my team. The smiles on their faces and the warm hugs they greeted me with gave me the reassurance that I needed to tackle this quarter head on. Now, I'm working on my super awesome James Bond themed banquet. I went to the venue last week and it is gorgeous! I'm also working on Talent Show Auditions, and college days. Needless to say, I'm not taking any crud from anyone because this is my quarter. This is my time to shine. I'm done dealing with stupid politics and opinions of others- Hater's gonna hate. and so be it, because if they could do a better job, they should have run for the position. So at this moment I'm feeling better than I ever have. I don't care what other people think. The students are on my side. The faculty are on my side. My team is on my side and at the end of the day I can live with that. At the end of the day I know I've done my job as best as I could, and at the end of the day I'm still me.

I'm feeling on top of the world and nothing or nobody is going to bring me down!

Elsa created Olaf. As his builder, part of her personality went to Olaf (likewise, the other characteristics that she ingrained in him). It’s very possible that Olaf stands for the innermost longing of Elsa’s heart. That is why we can all see how much Olaf loves Anna and how much he tries to protect her the same way that Elsa would have. Moreover, Olaf would display the same feelings as Elsa. Elsa has always wanted to be near Anna. But, because of the curse, she had to stay away from her. For that reason, Olaf can always be seen around Anna. Elsa and Olaf have the same belief about love. They both know that love means sacrifice. Notice the funny reaction of Olaf when they were on their way to Hans to save Anna? He was very stunned that Anna’s true love is someone he hasn’t heard about. That’s not far from Elsa’s belief that Anna couldn’t marry someone she just met. Later on in the movie, they both have the same surprised reaction when they realized that love is the answer she needed to thaw the ice and to bring back summer.
