The location grew smaller and smaller in the rear mirror of her ride. For a little while longer she would dwell on this evening. Would relive the memories she made. Would think of that handsome stranger, the dancing, and the feeling of happiness. Before the reality would remember her of the sadness that kept her in its clutches. Not yet, though. She could dream a little longer.
Ship: May I have this dance? | Gwen x Talbot (Uncharted)
Back in 2021 I commissioned the amazing @delborovic for this piece: Gwen and Talbot dancing at the masquerade ball. Gwen's story was still only bits and pieces but the ball was already set. And look at that, it turned out so beautiful! 💕 Look how handsome Talbot is and Gwen turned out so pretty! The hair pins and her tattoo! I love it! 🥰 Thank you again, Del, you've been very kind and I'm still so very happy with this picture! 💕
I saw this on insta and someone commented asking her how she knew they were in there and she said that she saw the mama duck with only one duckling and thought it was suspicious so she stopped to check and hear them quacking down there... :') <3
For when you need a reminder that there really is goodness in the world
And for whenever someone mistakenly tells you that humans can only hurt nature -
We are part of nature. And we are uniquely equipped, in many ways, to help heal the planet we are part of - so long as we keep choosing to help, and to heal, this planet of which we are a part
ship: as the waves kiss the shore | Teagan x Frank (original)
My very first comm of these two together and the final piece of sketches @felrija did for me 💕 I love how close they are, how visible their trust and comfort in each other is and argh, this sketch captures their relationship, even before getting together, perfectly!

HAIR: Very dark grey, with hints of a very dark and greyish brown that shimmers in the sunlight. Waist length. Usually wears it loose and slicked back.
EYE COLOUR: Yellow glowing with black sclera. Amber with white sclera in human form.
HEIGHT: 170cm/5'7ft
RA'ATH: Shireen is of the ancient Ra'ath species, who are a kind of shapeshifters. A humanoid species that can shift between its regular and warrior form. In her regular appearance, Shireen's skin is in its natural grey. Horns protrude from the top of her head, she has fangs and sharper claws. When in her warrior form, her whole body is covered by her organic armour; body plates harder than bone. Additionally, as the queen of the Ra'ath, she is a hybrid and can shift to a third form. In her case, she appears human.
STYLE: Usually opts for black clothing or dresses in warm colours like red, orange, and yellow. Her go-to casual wear is robes. However, most of the time she wears her own Mandalorian armour, originally belonging to her grandmother, which was passed down to her through her father. Red in colour with dark grey accents. The design of her helmet is sleek, with a T-shaped visor that is curved inward on both the horizontal and vertical lines, and with two protruding plates of Beskar hugging the helmet on each side. Additionally, she wears a robe around her waist, similar to a tunic.
A calm and collected nature is what defines Shireen most, even when it comes to the negative emotions. While she shows herself reserved, she’s far from emotionally closed off. Her emotions come to her just as intensely as anyone else but was taught from a very young age to not give them away, to not become vulnerable to those who could possibly harm her. So, she stays level-headed in every situation until she is pushed to her very limit. Diplomacy first, Shireen follows her own morals, still upkeeping the title of judge, jury and executioner her kind was known for. And if all is truly lost, that’s when she acts, and she will do so with absolute ruthlessness. When it comes to protecting her loved ones, she will turn into the beast she’s said to be.
POWERS: Shapeshifting, Natural Resistance to Mind Probing, Telepathy (limited), Hypnosis, Force Powers
ABILITIES: Martial Arts, Hand-to-Hand Combat, Weapons Expert, Lightsaber Combat (main form Shien, also trained in Niman and Jar'Kai), Diplomacy and Political Prowess
History
Of The Abyss (ao3) >>
DISCLAIMER: SPOILER WARNING. Shireen suffers from memory loss, and her memories return to her later in the fic. This is more of a summary but if you don't want to get spoiled for some parts you can skip the 'ORIGINS' part.
ORIGINS
Shireen was born to Sunnayah, queen of the ancient Ra’ath species, and Mandalorian warrior Unodth Oqir. Many years later, her people suffered a great loss. The planet Korvak was destroyed, billions of its inhabitants killed, including her parents and eldest brother. She was then crowned the new queen at only 10 years old and continued to serve her people mainly as a diplomat for 11 more years.
As a neutral system, they were caught in the crossfire of the Jedi-Sith war, and in a desperate attempt to save her people, Shireen decided to join the efforts of the Galactic Republic and the Jedi in 1032 BBY. The Sith stopped the forming of this alliance, by hunting after Shireen who then crash landed on a deserted ice planet and was turned to ice. This broke the mental connection among her species which resulted in them loosing the fight against the Sith and eventually going extinct.
OF THE ABYSS
🎶 Something Sweeter
After a very long wait, someone finally heard her call. In hopes of getting answers, Maul freed her from the ice, only to be interrupted by pirates stealing her ship. Maul had no other choice but to help Shireen escape and track down the pirates, or he would have risked being revealed as a Sith. It took some effort, mainly due to the two not really wanting to work together, but in the end, Shireen found the leader of the pirates who stole her belongings and killed him, though not without sacrifices. To her surprise, she found a lightsaber in her ship, her lightsaber. Maul believes he was deceived, thinking her a Jedi, so their ways parted.
They eventually reunited and uncovered Shireen’s memories, leading to her reconsidering her place in the galaxy. The two finally reconciled and decided to stick together, until Maul’s demise on Naboo.
BEACON OF HOPE
🎶 Army of Me
Once again alone, Shireen gave up the purpose of finding a place to belong. Her new purpose was simple; to kill those who have taken her last bit of happiness from her, even if it resulted in her own death. Her path of revenge led her to getting involved with the Separatists, more pirates and Mandalorians. She eventually found shelter among fellow warriors; Gar Saxon and Kane Desegh with whom she stuck with for 13 years until Death Watch took over Mandalore, and Shireen was once again reunited with Maul. After their joint betrayal, and Pre Viszla’s death, Shireen was then established as the new leader/duchess of Mandalore.
It later came to a disagreement between her and Maul during the Siege of Mandalore, and she stayed behind to help her troops in battle. They’re forced to retreat and once the Empire took control of the galaxy, into battle again to keep hold of their world and system. Due to Gar Saxon deciding to join the Empire, the fight was lost sooner than later, and the remaining Mandalorians had to flee their home.
Shireen was one of the last ones holding the line to buy enough time for others to get away, which ended in her coming face to face with Vader. The fight didn’t last long, and he easily defeated her. She was then a captive of the Empire. After a failed mind probing through Darth Sidious, she was then given to an imperial lab to run different experiments on her. An incident almost resulted in her escape but in the end, it was Maul who freed her, who, up until this point, believed Shireen to be dead.
From this point on, they remained at each other’s side for many years, even having several children together, before Maul’s desire for revenge drove him away to Malachor. During his absence, Shireen was involved in the conflict for Mandalor’s ruler, and even helped the rebellion to an extent.
Shireen only has fond memories of her family. The kindness and patience of her parents, and the support and encouragement of her brothers. A sense of curiosity carried itself through them all, and while duty was important to her parents, they granted her and her brothers as much freedom as possible. Despite that, they were still raised to be excellent warriors that remained utterly loyal to their kind and family, which ultimately resulted in their demise. At merely 10 years old, Shireen had to witness the death of her parents and eldest brother. The younger would later fall in battle to protect her, ending the line of the Mandalorian house Oqir.
Their relationship started with caution and slight distrust, as neither wanted to work with the other but a common enemy and the unknown intention behind the strange bond they shared forced them to stick together. What followed were many ups and downs, that caused a connection to grow in spite of them trying to sever it. They slowly started to care for each other, which only drove them further apart. Shireen questioned herself, and Maul was left confused by his feelings, and partly unfocused, so they parted ways. There was something, however, that drew them back to each other, and in the end, he not only helped her regain her memory but also saved her life. After that, trust was built and the bond fully forged before it fell apart again, and it wouldn’t be the last time. The pair had to face many obstacles over the years, that tried to separate them, but they always found their way back to each other. Unwavering loyalty, devotion, and love between the two was what made them survive all the hardships they had to face.
and I guess, honourable mention: Xenomorph Queen (Aliens)
see, she can be evil, but most of the time chooses not to be. the core of her character is really just protecting her own by any means necessary (with a bit of playfulness and girlish whimsy buried deep underneath it).
