I read this earlier, and now I cannot stop both laughing and thinking about how there was never a truer analogy...
"Letting men decide about women's health care is like letting your dog make decisions about your car because he likes to ride in it sometimes." as seen on The Woke Ginger.
Sometimes you may forget how much light you hold because you are too busy surviving the dark. But even on the nights when you feel small, insignificant, or lost, you are still glowing in ways you can’t see. Every quiet effort, every breath you take when things feel heavy, every moment you choose to stay, those are lights. They don’t have to be loud or impressive to matter. You don’t have to shine for anyone else to be real. Somewhere in this vast world, your existence is adding warmth to the universe simply by being here. And maybe you are not okay right now, maybe you are tired of carrying yourself, maybe you feel alone but even then, you are not empty. You are part of something bigger, a sky full of people each holding their own fragile, beautiful glow. One day, when you look back, you might realize that the nights you thought you were barely making it were the ones where your light was the bravest. Until then, rest. Breathe. Stay. Your little star still matters, and it always will. ✨💜
Wanna be a hero, but also cause a little chaos for all the trumpkins?
I know a lot of us on Tumblr are not huge fans of Instagram, that being said, maybe now is the time to join if you haven't already.
Why you ask? I am happy to tell you:
Did you know, on instagram you can report posts for having false information? I think this is rather important step in fact checking these bigot pieces of trash, and not allowing their lies to permeate into the dashboards anyone on these platforms. Go visit both of these posts and report them for the blatantly false information and propaganda this b*tch is spewing out of her vile mouth. Let's flood each one of the propaganda pushing posts with false information reports. It's the very least we can do.

For any of you out there needing a tiny nugget of hope that these men and women who are supporting and carrying out these crimes against humanity in broad daylight in our country right now…. Nuremburg. The Nazi’s thought they were going to get away with their criminal behavior also. And, while we can all agree that the trials at Nuremberg should have been against so many more… as employees of the U.S. Govt we will have their information, they won’t be able to hide easily in this day and age. We can put each and everyone on trial.
We don’t have to stop until each and every one of them is held accountable. We will know who participated in these operations, for how long, and where, based on employment records. These people including queen idiot bigot herself, Kristi Noem, will not be able to hide behind orders, etc. Even if she ditches the extensions, new trumpkin-barbie makeup and stupid hat, we will find her.
If a content creator can show you fine folks a random picture of a person and asks you to find them, and you guys find them in like 30 min… what hope do these fools have? I want to make sure this message is heard near and far…. Start gathering evidence now, take photos, videos, document and write it down. Document everything. Get ready for these trials as they are sure to take place, and we can make sure they do.
Side note, while the men responsible are being told they have immunity… that’s from criminal charges (which also isn’t true by the way and clearly doesn’t apply to civil lawsuits). We can sue these people into the ground from a civil court standpoint. ALSO, we all have a standing to sue both them and the US government, for the detrimental effects the stress of this is causing to the health and wellbeing of their citizens. Which is, after all, their entire reason for being – making sure WE THE PEOPLE are as protected and safe as possible. So, if you are suffering from the effects of stress caused by the illegal efforts the current administration, find an attorney or group willing to help and begin your lawsuit. All you have to do is have a medical/behavioral health doctor confirm the detriment this shit is having, and ta da, you have standing to sue. Our system sucks, but we can use it to our advantage if you know how to work it.
P.S. If your ICE and you're reading this.... your time will come; we will be coming for you; you can count on it. We will make sure you know exactly what it feels like to be afraid to go outside. If you're thinking of joining ICE, just remember what is going to be waiting for you on the other side of this - history will remember your name and your crimes, we'll make sure of it. Sweet dreams until then!
Ever notice how its all about 'showing up authentically', as if we have it all figured out and somehow are good with it. But, most of us are trying to figure it out as we go... so if we are supposed to be living authentically, why are more of us not comfortable with showing up as the shit show we can be at times?
This has been going on long enough, when selecting his latest hair color, someone should have told him green is the typical color for an oompa loompa. Perhaps as the leader of the oompa's he's attempting to set himself apart? That's okay, nothing a little hair color retouch can't fix.
If we, as childbearing persons, are forced to incubate and deliver a child, can we say we are being provided for equally under the law?
How do they even justify this?
The fact is, the local and federal government combined do, and should have, the authority to provide for the best interests of itself and its people. Otherwise, we wouldn't have safe water regulations, seatbelts, speed limits, consumer protection laws, and all of the regulatory bodies we have all designed to keep us safe and healthy. Not to say these are 100% effective - but, neither is birth control....soooo. So how does this apply to laws and constitutional clauses that restrict abortion access?
How this applies to us childbearing humans, is an interesting one. as I understand it, the state needs a stable population, and by that, I mean they need a population which can be maintained along with the resources needed for that population ( i.e. electricity, water, police, and administrative personnel) - bottom line: they need voting taxpayers. This means they have a vested interest in us as humans for those purposes, along with the typical moral and ethical concerns - which is where it gets sticky I think.
We cannot draw a line from procreative autonomy to abortion restriction without crossing the philosophical/religious boundary - Ideas which are definitely divided and are not shared by all. So, why are we allowing such laws that provides for abortion restriction based on the philosophical rather than science in this case?
Science is what tells us what is safe to drink, how fast we should go, if we should wear seatbelts or helmets, if a food or drug is okay for us. We certainly would not be okay with a scientist to restrict a cure to a disease because of a philosophical idea about survival of the fittest, would we?
Yet, in this instance, we are allowing our government(s) to pass laws or enact old laws/clauses which do not use science, but a religious belief that defines what a human life is. A belief that isn't held by all - and that by all accounts we wouldn't be forced to go along with. With regard to restricting one's procreative autonomy, it seems it should be something more concrete that we act on if we are to 'value' one life over another.
The states here are creating a paradoxical system in which they strip the rights of one to protect the rights of another, without showing A) how this law is not a conflict of interest or, b) that the conflict outweighs the injustice it creates, and that the interest is clearly defined and supported by facts, and C ) 'remedies' or allowances for situations outside the norm. For example, no allowances for incest mean the given population agree that incest is normal and does not require an exemption. Of course, opens a pandora's box of questions....
The reality seems the government will guarantee the birth of the child, but do not guarantee sufficient healthcare, adequate food, shelter, education, and so on, frankly even before the child is born these are not things that are provided. We have welfare programs, however, the efficacy of these programs is known to be spotty at best.
Do these deficits in ensuring care, before and after birth, add to the argument that anti-abortion laws are religiously rooted, and then supported because the 'state' needs bodies, and not that it is truly for the sake of the 'life' of the fetus/baby?
Which begs the further question, if this isn't science backed, and it is religious in nature - why no religious exemptions? People who are religious are allowed exemptions for things which impede on their faith, including vaccines which are state mandated for the very same reason they require the fetus to be born - 'the health and safety of the child'.
Why then, shouldn't people without a religion, atheists as an example, get an exemption from a law rooted in a specific religious belief? e.g. the idea that life begins at conception. And that we are supposed to be fruitful, multiply and fill the earth (which one could argue has been accomplished). After all, the 'nones' are the single largest group over any one religious group per NPR in jan 2024. 29% 'nones' to 23% Catholics, for example. I bet there's a lot of those folks who do not believe a religious belief that isn't shared should dictate how they live.
And with regard to remedies, since we are left with none really, I guess we are only left to sue - but who has the right or standing to sue? It is my understanding that a group people who are facing oppression/or immanent oppression have the right to petition their government through legal means if they are in reasonable fear for their safety to live their life normally (birth control is only 98% effective). Otherwise, we live in fear constantly that we may become pregnant when we do not want to or are not healthy enough (physically or mentally) to have a baby. Or that, a state may provide protections for abortion access now, but it might not later because our federal government has not stepped in and protected us as a group, a class, against discrimination from equal protection under the law based on sex. They are using more stringent science to regulate our water than they are for a childbearing body.
It seems to me we are ripe for someone to challenge it in a bigger way, based on the fear it creates for our sex everyday. If you have a working uterus or know/love someone who has one, you are impacted for better or worse.
I wish the folks from the early women's suffrage movements were here... I would love to hear their pep talk and what they would do in this situation. I wonder if they would tell us this is our time to really band together and create the change we expect to see, or if they would say all hope is lost and to seek shelter elsewhere.
