There are volunteers and police canvassing for information now. Joe's friends are putting up flyers. Gwynne, Joe's mom, dearly believes someone knows something. The more people who know we are looking, the sooner we hope to have answers.

Joe Madden, who tends bar at the Pug and Brookland's Finest was last seen Monday morning, and his family is seeking any information regarding his whereabouts. Their message appears below: My son, Joe Madden, has been missing since Monday. Joe is 23, about 6'1"and 170lbs. Hazel eyes. Last seen in NE Washington, DC on Monday morning Sept 29 around 10:30 am. We have filed a police report but there's nothing else the police can do. None of his friends have heard from him since Sunday. He doesn't have his phone with him.

Joseph Madden, who was last seen in the 1000 block of Kearney Street, Northeast, on Monday, September 29, 2014.
Joe is a 23 year-old Male, 6 ‘1” tall, 170 lbs, brown hair, hazel eyes, full beard and has a fair complexion. Mr. Madden was last seen wearing a gray T-Shirt, blue acid washed jeans, and black work boots.

WASHINGTON (WJLA) - Twenty-three-year-old Joe Madden, a bartender at three popular bars in the District, is missing.
According to his mother, Madden left for work Monday morning at Brookland's Finest around 10:30 a.m. and has not been seen or heard from since. Madden also tends bar at Solly's a t the corner of 11th and U streets NW and previously worked at The Pug on H Street in Northeast.
Madden, who was last seen on Kearney Street in Brookland, is considered a "critically missing" person by Metropolitan Police.
Madden's home two blocks from Brookland's Finest so it was a short walk. He never showed up.
He was at the restaurant the night before with friends who tell his mother that nothing seemed wrong. He told them he was coming to work the following day. Madden doesn't have his cell phone with him because, his mother said, he left it at work that night and planned to retrieve it when he got to work the next morning.
His mother says his bank accounts haven't been touched. She said Madden has never disappeared before and she is extremely worried about his safety. The family filed a missing persons report Wednesday. D.C. police confirm they are investigating. Madden's mother tells ABC 7 news police checked area hospitals and the morgue but to no avail.
Neighbors and restaurant staff members are helping the family in their search for their son. He is 6-foot-1 and weights around 170 pounds with brown hair and green eyes. He was last seen wearing jeans and black work boots.
