Curiosity Killed the cat. (4,000+ words)

The F### Gang stared at the small sign beneath the Big S then Susie turned to look at Kris. “Uhh, That’s like a bathroom, right?” She questioned with an uncertain tone and Raisel spoke up. “We’ll just, um, Go play games.”

Kris just nodded and entered the S rank room without them and there was a hallway, a long one and in the end there was a zapper and they seemed to be guarding another door. Kris continued onwards until they were in front of Zapper. They eyed the Human lighter before them then began speaking. “Oh, it’s you... let me check if you’re on the check list... I see! S-Rank on Board 1. Please enjoy our luxury facilities.” They said respectfully as they stepped aside to allow access to the door.

Kris walked inside the door and the room was... (“That’s rather disappointing”) Kris hears a voice within their mind, one they've gotten used to by now. Kris couldn’t help but agree with the soul for once. The “Luxury” room didn’t look like a luxury room at all, there were cracks on the walls and the colors were dull.

On the left side of the “Luxury” Room there double doors and Ramb was in front of them and in the right side of the “Luxury” Room there was pippins, Both Kris and the soul decide to ignore him and beside the dice darkner was a pink curtains, Curiosity filled the soul and it made Kris approach it and opened, There was a shadowman behind it and they were using socks. He notices Kris’s presence and got flustered and let out feminine scream then closed the curtains

Beside that curtain was Rouxl Kaard and he was saying something about waiting in line while putting on some kind of makeup? The soul made Kris walk past him to focus on the other curtains. Kris was about to walk in but someone inside suddenly pushed them away and they felt something spiny getting stuck in their hand. Kris looks down and they see that they just received a Saber10...

Kris’s expression turned mildly annoyed, they had gotten this weapon back in one of the vending machines and it cost them like 80 points? Which doesn’t sound bad but they just wasted some points (“Oops... Sorry Kris, didn’t know we would’ve gotten this back here.”) The soul sounded sheepish then it continued. (“Anyways, Let’s go see what Ramb is up to.”)

Kris began to walk to the left side until they were in front of Ramb and once he noticed that Kris was in front of him, he started talking. “Ah, Kris. Look at you. A dressing room big shot! Cheers, Cheers!” Then he questioned how the game was then seeing Kris’s bored expression so he started to talk about the game and how Tenna tweaked it up here and there, that caught the soul’s interest and so it continued to listen. “But if I know Kris, and boy I do know Kris... That’s not what YOU want, innit? Freedom, That’s what YOU want, chum, Freedom!” Kris’s expression slightly darkened at the topic of freedom. Ramb looked away from them but he didn’t stop talking. “Well, If i can go hush-hush for a minute here... Kris, Luv. THAT’s what we got in the backstage. The ORIGINAL game. Where YOU get to decide what to do. All right, enough explaining more gaming! I’ll keep an eye for tenna, you go have some REAL fun, Alright, luv?” Ramb moved to the side to allow Kris to go backstage. Kris hesitated for a moment but the soul spoke up. (“C’mon, Kris. What are we waiting for? I want to see the backstage!”)

Kris stared at the door for a moment then they walked in. As Kris walked in, the first thing they noticed was a bunch of controllers and on the right side, there seemed to be a door hidden by the curtains. Only the soul noticed but it didn’t make Kris check it because it will most likely be closed so the soul made Kris walk to the left side and it seems to lead to a gaming room. It was just like Tenna’s Big TV back on the stage.

“(Turn it on, Kris!”) The soul ordered while its tone was filled with curiosity and Kris did turn it on and the game seemed to load in... But the screen said No Controller connected before turning itself off by force. (“Let’s go back to the previous room, it had loads of controllers. I doubt Tenna will notice.”) The soul stated, Kris followed The soul’s instruction and walked back to the room before and they noticed that one of the controllers had fallen off... somehow. Deciding not to think too much of it, Kris picked up the controller and went back to the gaming room.

The first thing Kris did was plugged the controller to the console and this time it was playable while it loaded the screen was all yellow for a moment then a black screen with a red heart that looks awfully familiar appeared in the middle but it was replaced by little kris once the area had finally loaded up.

The area was at the pyramid entrance like the one from earlier, the door was locked and there were no keys for this one but there was another entrance. (“Wow. I’m in the game now.”) The Soul thought to themselves and the first thing they walked towards was the another entrance that led to the underground. It was empty so they got out of it. (“Welp that’s rather disappointing, there was nothing. Not even a shop like earlier.”)

The little kris walked towards another area and the area loaded and the first thing they noticed was that there was a NPC on the right side but unfortunately the bushes were on the way so they continued to explore the game. The pod had a fish like NPC. (“Interesting, Tenna had removed these NPCs? But why did he remove them? Or maybe he didn’t remove them but moved them somewhere else? I mean there was a certain area that was inaccessible so it’s possible that he did that.”) The little Kris thought to themselves.

The next area had two NPCs, one from earlier and another was a flower and the little Kris tried to interact with them but they would just phase through eachother. (“Okay... what else is new?”) They begin to think about what to do, was this really it? Just added some NPCs and nothing more? (“That’s it! Tenna's fan mail room! Wonder how much of that has changed!?”)

And so they made their way to the dungeon, ignoring a bunch of NPCs and avoiding touching some cactuses and they finally arrived at the area where the dungeon was located and unlike in Tenna’s version it wasn’t hidden. It was wide open, the little kris walked to it and entered the dungeon. Once it loaded they passed through the hallway until they entered the room.

There was a sword just laying there and the Little Kirs walked up to it and picked it up. There was a sound almost like Zelda receiving an item. Once they gotten the sword, they teleported back to that area and the changes were noticeable. There was a new bar called LV and currently it was at 1, there was also music playing now. Little Kris walked back up to the 2th Cactus area where it had NPCs. (“I got the sword now, that means i have to use it... should i really do it?”) The little kris thought to themselves but they decided to not go through with it. Instead, they decide to explore the unedited game.

There were a bunch of NPCs. The little Kris had tried cutting one of the bushes but it didn’t work and some time later, they would return to the pyramid. (“Okay now what? I explored the entire game and there was nothing but there doesn’t seem to be any changes in the pyramid. The door seems to be locked and that little dungeon thing is still there... eh why not.”)

Out of boredom the little kris had gotten inside and the dungeon loaded up, interestingly there was a change within this area. There was a text saying “BECOME STRONGER.”

The Little Kris just stood still for a moment before getting out of the dungeon. (“I see. That’s what it wants me to do.”), The Little Kris walked towards an area where they last saw an NPC. Once they were within reach. The Little Kris slashed and the NPC fell under the blade’s might. They repeated this couple of more times until they LV up. The moment they’re in LV 2. The NPCs started attacking back yet it was useless because they all fell under the human’s blade. Once they reached LV 3, they accidently slashed the cactus after killing a NPC that was near the cactus. (“Interesting... I’m strong enough to cut down the cactuses?”) The little Kris thought to themselves.

There were no more NPCs left so the next best choice was the path that has been locked by cactus, after a couple of more scrolls. They finally reached that area and they walked towards the cactus and without hesitation they slashed them down, making it accessible and they walked through the entrance, the area was blue. Almost like it was freezing even the NPCs had tinted blue.

No matter, they all fell under their blade, the LV bar continued to get filled up. Until they reached the last area and like most enemies the last one was slain. There was a sound, letting little kirs know that they had gotten stronger once more.

This time they were strong enough to cut down trees.

“...”

There was no need for comment, The Little Kris walked away from the frozen desert until they were returned to the warmer side of the desert and the first thing They did was cut down trees, curiosity was filling them. What was on the other side of the screen in this tree filled?

There were more trees. No matter, they continue to cut them down and down and down. Until finally there was a chest but trees were on the way so they continued to cut them down until they reached the chest, once they opened it they got the ICE KEY .

The Game shut down on itself.

Kris stared at the black screen, the soul returned to their body and they suddenly felt numb and cold.

“...”

They stood still for a moment before finally deciding to return to their friends.

The two times they finished Tenna’s TV time, they would return to this gaming room to play the unedited version of the game Tenna made them play, the soul repeated, entered the unedited game and slaughtered the enemies. The Second time, Kris started to feel concern with the growing numbness but the soul persisted and made them play the game.

“K-kris! Kris, I didn’t see you there! I... I did what you said, Kris! ha... just like our deal! Y-you aren’t going to turn me off again, are you...?”

There was no answer, The only Answer was Tenna getting slashed down by their blade.

The Little Kris continued onwards then went down. The screen scrolled down, the area was in the woods. The one back in Hometown, The Little Kris was unbothered by this and continued to walk down and the screen once again scrolled down. The next area showed a banker.

The Little Kris was about to walk towards it but they suddenly turned around but they persisted and turned back. Once again they tried to walk away but The Little Kris was determined to see what was inside.

“...”

Kris in the reality just watched, they tried their best to resist but the soul was more determined. They finally stopped resisting and let the soul get what it wants. The little kris walked to the red door and used the shelter key they got from the ice dungeon earlier. The door opened up, The Little Kris walked inside and it was dark. Not that they cared, they continued to get deeper into the bunker

Until they were inside a dark room, The Little Kris stopped moving. Waiting and they got rewarded for it because someone in the dark spoke.

“Kris... Oh... Kris... Is it fun, Kris? Playing Around Like this? That’s Why You’re searching for them, aren’t you? The SHADOW CRYSTALs ...”

“ And the SHADOW MANTLE that I’m holding! Do You Honestly Think It’ll Get you what you want...?”

“No, Part of You is just... Enjoying this, isn't it? That You silence them, Making The “games” empty of life?” Kris’s expression turned into shock yet somehow the entity within the game noticed their expression. “You really think the last three were just games? They’re just like you, a people yet limited within this realm.” Kris’s expression turns sour at the thought of killing the darkners trapped within the games. “Oh, Don’t make that sour face I can see in the dark, You know! The Question is... Can You?”

The Screen brightens up just enough to reveal the dungeon and in the middle of it, a shadowy creature spawn in. letting out a laugh and as the boss theme started The Little Kris moving towards the shadowy creature and began to attack on it, damaging it once as The shadowy creature began to move around the dungeon.

Using a fire ball spell around itself before shooting them and one of the fire balls had hit the little Kris and the actual Kris felt a painful burning sensation on their body, They gritted their teeth to stop any noise coming out of their mouth. The Little Kris followed the shadowy creature and attacked at it whenever they had the chance while making sure they didn’t get hit by the fire balls. Seeing that Kris was dodging its fire attacks. The shadowy creature begins to throw bombs around the dungeon.

One of the explosions had hit the little kris and once more Kris felt their body burn, their body flinched at the pain yet they endured because of what was controlling them. Whenever the little kris was close enough they would slash at the shadowy creature, once more it threw bombs and this time the little kris dodged all of them and returned the favor by attacking it while it was shooting fire balls on its next attacks.

After a couple of more hits the dungeon had changed colors, darker. The ground and the walls became dark purple with some tint of pink. The Shadowy Creature created a fire around itself and flew up off screen and fell down. The Little Kris knew not to get hit by it and walked around to dodge its attack until the shadowy creature stopped and let out taunting laugh, Little Kris saw the chance to start attacking it but missed as it moved to the other side of the dungeon to create cat like shadow creatures that has yellow and pink eyes with unnerving smile.

Most of them wandered around the dungeon aimlessly while some moved closer to Little Kris, While they were distracted with the shadowy cat beings, it continued to let out taunting laugh and when one of them died, they dropped a candy which little Kris gladly took to heal up and once all of them were slain, The Little Kris quickly moved towards it and attacked it before it flew up and back down while doing so. The Little Kris would hit while making its way down before returning to the middle of the dungeon.

The Strategy was used for the next two phases, attack when they can and dodge while it also grew harder like throwing more fireballs and bombs, especially summoning more of the shadowy cat beings.

On its last phase, the dungeon was all red and before The Little Kris could be killed, They managed to hit the shadowy creature and it flew back to the middle and the dungeon’s color flickered back to dark pink until it was back to its original color. The Shadowy Creature speaking up. “ There! That’s what I wanted to see! Flickering red, like pretty flames... Your eyes can’t hide it, Kris. without play... The Knfie-” It couldn’t even finish its sentence as it was interrupted by being slashed for the last time and this time, it has fallen to Kris’s blade.

Kris hears a little sound, their gaze went towards the corner of the screen. The LV says 10 now. From the looks of it, their character was now stuck in this dungeon but that was far from the truth as they noticed some cracks on the left corner of the walls, they might’ve cracked under one of the bomb’s explosions. The little Kris walked up to the cracked walls and slashed on it. They broke under the blade’s might and it revealed a hallway which they walked in and the screen scrolled up.

A hallway and a red chest behind a wall when interacted, it was noted that it was too high to reach. The little Kris just walked to the right except the room didn’t change to another, it stayed in that hallway and suddenly Kris heard little footsteps on their right side, they turned to look at the side and saw little Kris!

They dropped the controller in shock, The Little Kris walked closer to them and they backed away in return, The Little Kris slashed their sword and Kris tripped due to not paying attention, they sat there waiting for the pain but nothing came... at least physically. Suddenly The numbness grew even more as their soul returned to their body. They just sat there for a moment before the soul insisting tugged at them, Kris wondered when they did get so impatient?

Kris got up from the ground and the first thing The soul did was move towards the TV, Kris thought they were about to bump into the screen but instead, the reality seemed to blur as they went inside the game.

As soon as they were in, the soul made Kris walk towards the chest and opened it up, inside was a SHADOW MANTLE and Kris picked it up then they walked towards where the little Kris had walked out of. The reality seemed to blur once more as they got out of the game then Kris gained back some control and they walked back to the controller and picked it up.

They blankly stared at the TV screen, The Numbness seemed to have stayed even when they gained back some control. Suddenly someone had came in, calling out for them and from the sounds of it, it was susie. “Hey Kris!” She sounded happy, did she get something? A snack she likes? Maybe a drink. Once she was beside them, she turned to look at the TV screen. “What The Hell are you doing?” she questioned then added. “Being a tryhard all by yourself?”

There was no response from the human so Susie turned to look at them. “You seriously enjoy this?”

“...”

Susie noticed that Kris was silent, alot more than they usually are. She’d take the silence as no then. “Okay, then here’s an idea.” She pushed Kris to the side and unplugged the controller then dropping it to the ground. “Then don’t play it.” with that she begin to walk out of the gaming room but she stopped to speak to them more. “Anyway. Here. stole a drink for you. Now stop making us wait for you.”

Susie had placed the soda to the ground and walked out of the gaming room. Leaving Kris alone for now.

Susie noticed something with Kris was off that their ATTACKs were more sharp and took less DAMAGE to enemy attacks ever since they finished that game but she find that there was no chance to speak with them alone with them being busy with The Knight after their battle with Tenna and trying to find some clues to the bunker in the south of Hometown and being in the dark world in the church... Fighting The Titan. But Susie finally found the chance to talk to them in the lake as they took a short break after a world ending threat battle. The lake smelled nice after the rain and she could hear a song in the distance on the other side of the lake, Susie asked if Kris could hear it as well but they stayed silent. It was concerning, ever since they left that S Rank Room few nights back They started acting like this

Susie's gaze returned to Kris who continued to stare at the lake with dull red eyes. "Kris... ever since You finished that game, You've been acting differently. something wrong?" She questioned.

"..."

Kris didn't answer her question, Susie's gaze turned to the lake. She held back a sigh, not wanting them to mistake it as her getting bored of them. Maybe it was best that she doesn't force them to open up, not after what just happened back in the church. "You don't want to say...? alright but I promise you that tomorrow, I'm going to make you talk." She said with her usual firm tone yet there was no real bite in it.

Silence filled the lake once more, the only noise being music on the other side of the lake and the water waving then Susie stood up from the ground. "Guess we should go." Susie noticed that Kris hadn't gotten up, so she turned to look at them. "Kris...? C'mon, we can't sit here forever." Her tone was softer as she told them to get up.

"..."

Kris finally stands up as well and they begin to walk back home with Susie behind them as usual. They passed by Asgore's flower shop, a couple of houses, then they turned right once they were in front of the holiday's gate and continued onwards until they finally reached Kris's house. Oddly enough the lights were on but they didn't focus on it, they just wanted to be inside.

Kris opened the door and once their eyes adjusted to the light, a sight that would've made them uncomfortable was playing out. Their mother was drinking and dancing with a stranger who moved to town just a few days back. Kris tuned out the music and whatever was going on. Kris just moved past them, ignoring Susie's concern words as she watched them walk past Toriel and Sans. Kris didn't feel like dealing with whatever was going on in their living room.

As Kris reached halfway to the stairs they heard the door slamming. It seems like Susie decided to go home instead of staying here for the night and everything seems to be a blur onwards. Kris was out of their little headspace when they took out their heart shaped soul and threw it to the bird cage and they made their way to their bed and lay on it, Kris didn't even notice their phone falling off to the ground in the process.

Kris stared blankly at the ceiling, the Numbness in their body ever so present. They thought if the soul was removed from them, they would've removed the numbness as well but the numbness lingered even after it was removed. After a while of staring at the ceiling while tuning out the music in the living room, Kris rose from their bed. Their gaze landed on the bird cage where The Soul was currently locked in.

"What did you do?" Kris finally spoke as they stared at the floating red heart, their voice in monotone due to the numbness they were feeling. This was the first time they directly talked to their soul.

“...”

“...” "We got stronger.”

So when I played chapter 3 last year, I saw the soul being transferred to the shadow mantle mini games where it involves with (little bit of) the LV system and i thought "Hey what if I made a fanfic about it!" and boom here it is.

Also this meant to be one shot, obviously there will be changes to chapter 4 due to Kris being like what LV 10 but i didn't feel like fully cover them.

You see they were rescued by Stephanie aka one of the bat girls from a super powered mugger and took a good look at them. 

And she decided reader was good looking and she has start courting them. I would like to write this, really i do... But my knowledge on dc comics is not that big. I only know the basics of Steph. So i really can't write it even when i want to😭 EDIT: oops. wrong girl😭 I was thinking about steph being the one courting but instead mixed it up cuz i wasn't paying attention.

The Beautiful star.

There was a beautiful star.

The parents say don't look up at the beautiful star even when a voice says to look at it.

But kids are curious and ask why not look at the beautiful star?

Parents said it was for their safety.

But children don't always listen to their parents.

There was a little child in bed.

The little child was trying to sleep.

But the little child heard a voice.

"Come here. Look at the window to see the beautiful star." The voice said.

The little child wanted to see the beautiful star but their parents said not to listen to the voice.

"It's so beautiful, you get to tell your friends that you saw it." The voice insisted.

The little child's curiosity got bigger and they got up from their bed and walked to the window.

The little kid looked through the window and looked up.

The little child saw a star.

The star was beautiful.

So beautiful that the little child felt her mind burn.

So beautiful that the little child cried.

And cried.

And cried.

And cried.

And screamed.

After rereading abit of control devil arc. I wondered how did the light that breaks children's mind work. Did it lure the kids to look up or did the light just attack them.

So I thought why not make what I think could happen that make the kids to see that star.

Control's Possession (CH3)

“Ready to go?” Makima asked as she turned to look at Y/N. He was decently dressed up for the night and that was because Makima had insisted for him to dress this way. “Yeah I am.” Y/N answered with a nod. Makima nodded back and gestured for him to follow and walked towards the entrance of their apartment.

The walk to the bar was rather uneventful and eventually both of them had arrived at the bar. Makima led Y/N in and inside there was a group of people on the floor table, they were chatting with eachother and they hadn't even noticed both Makima and Y/N yet since the rookies had started introducing themselves to others.

Makima walked towards where Denji was while Y/N went to the counter to see what kind of beers or food the bar had. As Makima neared the punk, she heard his muttering. It was about kissing someone and from the looks of it, It would be Himeno with the way he was looking at her. “A Kiss?” She asked curiously much to Denji’s surprise. Everyone’s attention turned to the red haired woman as she took off the coat. “Excuse me. One draft beer please.” Makima called out to the bartender.

Aki got up from his spot and offered it to Makima. Kain began to nurse her drink as she watched Makima in some interest. “It’s the second time I’ve seen her in the flesh.” She muttered, she remembered the first time meeting her in person. It was strange that Makima had been looking for a roommate then she let her gaze go to the counter and her face lit up when she saw Y/N ordering something. “Heeeey, Y/N! Over here!” Kain called out for her friend. Y/N turned around and smiled when he saw Kain waving to catch his attention. Y/N grabbed his order and walked towards her.

Makima’s attention shifted to the other side as she saw Y/N walking up to Kain, a small frown forming on her face. She had thought that he would be next to her while yes Kain and Y/N are friends but they live together. That should mean something right? Makima’s attention shifted once more as her beer was placed in front of her.

“Sorry that it has been awhile since we last caught up. Work has been increasing lately.” Kain stated but Y/N just shrugged. “No need to worry about that, work can be quite unpredictable especially in your line of work.” Y/N responded in assurance and a smile formed on Kain’s face upon hearing that. “That’s what I like about you, Y/N.” she replied as the smile widened.

Makima tried her best to distract herself from what was happening on the other side but she couldn't look away from it. Her gaze slowly grew harder as she watched Y/N and Kain talk to eachother with such familiarity, Makima had to use all of her will just not to get up and walk to that side to grab hold of Y/N and pull him in an embrace where she wouldn’t let go.

Before Makima could call out for Y/N, she heard Aki speaking to her, he was asking about the recent appearances of gun devil’s flesh being more frequent, not to mention the devil from the last mission being interested in Denji which was why he was asking if she knew something about this. Makima turned to look at Aki with a small smile then took a sip of her beer and settled it down on the table with a soft thud then responded. “I’ll tell you if you can outdrink me.” Makima stated

Aki briefly turns to look at the counter to call out for the bartender. “Excuse me. Two beers, please.”

“I wanna play toooo! Another beer over here!” Himeno called out as well and the others began to call out for their orders as well. It was getting comfortable, just what everyone working at Public safety in the bar needed.

Makima watched as Y/N and Kain continued to be engrossed with eachother. A small frown had replaced the smile, they seemed to be deeper into the conversation and Makima could’ve cut it short if it weren’t for Aki distracting her for a challenge and now both Aki and Himeno were too drunk to properly sit up. It would’ve been an amusing sight if it weren’t for the fact Kain had Y/N’s attention to herself.

Makima took a sip of another beer as she thought about why Y/N was so keen on talking to Kain then her attention shifted once more as Himeno had managed to get up and pull Denji to a kiss. The Kissing seemed normal and all but in the end, Himeno ended up puking in Denji’s mouth. It was amusing in an unfortunate way.

Almost everyone turned to look at them as they heard Himeno puking and Kain didn’t hold back and laughed at him but she stopped when Y/N placed his hand on her shoulder and shook his head disappointingly while Power; a fiend was mocking him. “Denji’s prone to swallowing anything nutritional value that enters his mouth!” Power exclaimed. Most felt bad for the punk.

Denji, despite wanting to spit out the puke, had swallowed it just to prove he wouldn’t back out. It was a total mistake because shortly after he ran off to the bathrooms. Arai soon followed behind him. Despite the incident, The party seemed to go on and eventually Denji and Arai had returned from the bathroom.

Eventually Makima had finished shopping in the nearest supermarket and when she returned she had found that Denji was still outside. Earlier, Makima had noticed that Denji was feeling nausea and she had taken him outside for some fresh air. Despite the fact Denji didn’t drink beer at all, Himeno puking into his mouth and swallowing had an unintended side effect and in case some fresh air didn’t cut it out she went to the nearest supermarket for medicine.

Makima stopped in front of Denji and handed him the bag. “I brought you nausea medicine from the supermarket. Take it before bed.” Makima stated. Denji looks down at the bag for a bit then he looks up to meet her eyes. “Miss Makima... I, like screwed up and had a crappy first kiss... Even if I kiss different ladies from here on out. Am I going to remember the taste of barf everytime...?” He asked.

Makima just stared at him for a moment then she took the chupa out of her mouth. “Open your mouth.” she ordered, Denji opened his mouth like she said and Makima placed the chupa into his mouth. “You probably won’t be able to forget the taste of vomit for the rest of your life. But don’t worry. You’re going to experience all kinds of first tastes, from now until the day you die. You won’t have time to remember how vomit tastes.” She reassured. “For starters, your first indirect kiss is the taste of a cola flavor chupa chups.” She added then she walked past him to go inside once more. Denji was just too stunt to respond to Makima but he did follow her.

As Makima reentered the bar, she stopped on her tracks as her gaze landed on Himeno and Y/N. She just returned and that was the first thing she saw. She left them alone for one moment and Y/N was being kissed by Himeno. “...” Makima couldn’t find a word but she was feeling something, it was burning hot and it got hotter as Himeno refused to let Y/N pull away from her.

Makima finally snapped out of it and she began to walk closer to her, the air in the bar growing colder as she got closer then she placed her hand on Himeno’s shoulder, her grip tight. “That would be enough, Himeno.” Makima ordered. Feeling Makima’s hand, Himeno finally pulled away from Y/N but there still was some evidence of their connection; The saliva string between their lips and the sight made Makima tighten her grip. 

Himeno stared at Makima with a pouty expression. “C’mooon Makima! I-i was just trying to make it up for myself for letting Denji pull away too early!” Himeno said with a hint of whining tone. “I-it was going to be with D-denji but he was out too loooong!” She added.

“Even then, you should control yourself especially with what happened earlier.” Makima stated. Makima’s gaze remained on Himeno to the point she started to feel uncomfortable, those yellow spiraling eyes of hers were even more unsettling when Makima wasn’t pleased about something. “A-alright, alright… I’ll stop.” Himeno muttered but she was still pouting as she was interrupted once more, Himeno pulled away from Y/N and Makima let go of her shoulder as a result.

For a brief moment, Himeno turned to Y/N then she moved away from him. Makima watched her leave then she turned to look at Y/N, her gaze slightly softening. “Sorry about her, Y/N. Himeno tends to get... Handsy when she’s drunk.” Makima said, her gaze never left him as he finally found his words. “Well that was surprisingly a good kiss.” He commented.

“...” Makima’s expression hardened once more upon hearing that, then she forced herself to smile. “Hey, Y/N.” she called out, he turned to look at her curiously. Makima let her hand trace through his shoulder to the chin. “You’ve been spending awfully alot of time with Kain and the others.” She said, her voice softening. Y/N was about to say something but Makima placed her finger on his lips to interrupt him. “We came here to spend time with eachother more since we’re busy most of the time, yet you haven’t even tried.” Makima added, letting her words weigh on him. Makima’s gaze lingered on his face, watching the way his expression shifted into something like guilt. That's when she spoke up once more. “You haven’t forgotten about me... have you?” she asked.

“Well... I just lost track talking to Kain and others.” Y/N stated. He scratched the back of his head in a sheepish manner. “I can’t exactly make up for that but... We can still do that if you like.” he added. Makima’s gaze never left his, she was quiet then she finally spoke up. “I would like that.” she said with a smile then she led him back to her side of the floor table.

Makima spent the rest of the party on Y/N’s side even when he tried to talk to someone else, Makima pulled him back to her with the excuse of them trying to know eachother more then eventually the party had ended. While everyone was preparing to leave, Y/N quickly went to have a bathroom break and so Makima was waiting outside with the others, most were talking about what they enjoyed in the party and goodbyes to eachother.

“Miss Makima!” Power called out as she dragged Aki alongside, Makima turned to look at both of them. Ah yes, Power was a fiend and she would most likely be in trouble for being out in the city without proper supervision and with Aki being this hammered. There was no way he could do it. “I do not want to drag topknot back!” Power added as she stopped in front of Makima, the red haired woman just stared at the fiend for a moment. Makima knew she should do it, she was the one who placed Power and Denji under Aki’s care yet she didn’t want to do it. Not when Y/N would walk back home alone.

Then Makima’s gaze turned to look at Kain, she was talking with Kobeni but stopped when he noticed Makima’s gaze which she saw as the chance to talk to her. “Kain, would you mind if you could lead both Aki and Power back to their apartment?” She questioned.

“Uhh... I don’t know...” Kain trailed off with hesitation as she looked to the side. Power couldn’t help but frown as she heard Makima’s question. “HEY! I don’t want a human like her to do it! It should be-”

Makima turned to glare at Power which shut her up. A small smile forms on her face. “Be a good girl and allow her to bring you two back home.” Makima stated. Power looked down on the ground, unable to push further. “A-alright, Miss Makima.” Power muttered, her voice sounding weaker.

Once more, Makima’s attention returns to Kain. “You do understand that Fiends aren’t allowed out without proper supervision and I believe that you’re... Stable enough to do so.” Makima stated. Kain opens her mouth then closes. “Besides. Your apartment building is just a few blocks away from theirs.” She added. Kain couldn’t argue with that one and slowly nodded. She walked to Aki’s side, helping Power in carrying him. “C’mon. Let’s go.” she said and both of them walked away from the group.

Then Makima finally noticed something. A lack of someone more like. She turns to look at others. “Where did Denji go?” she questioned.

“If you’re looking for Denji, Himeno carried him off on her back.” Fuji answered. Makima just nodded. Well with that out of the way, that means it would just be her and Y/N.

After what felt like forever, Y/N finally got out of the bar. A sheepish smile was on his face as he walked closer. “Sorry about taking so long,” he said.

“No, that was quite fine. Bodily functions cannot be ignored after all.” Makima replied smoothly, she then shifted her body towards the street both had walked earlier. “Well then I believe that we’re ready now.” She added. Y/N just nodded and begin to follow her lead.

It was somewhat comfortable walking and as both Y/N and Makima were continuing on walking back to their shared apartment. Makima was thinking about something, that something was entirely what she has been wanting to do if she ever caught her hands on that devil, Denji has. Well maybe she should ask Y/N’s opinion about that topic.

“Can I ask you something, Y/N?” Makima asked as she slowed her pace, Y/N briefly turn to look at Makima then nodded. “Yeah sure.” Y/N replied as he slowed down as well. Makima stopped on her tracks and Y/N stopped as well when he noticed her stopping, both gaze met then Makima spoke up. “Hypothetically if You could create a world without death, without war and famine. Would you do it?” Makima asked with a slight tilted on her head

Y/N was quiet for a moment as he thought about Makima’s question then slowly he shook his head in denial. “No... I wouldn’t create a deathless world.” he stated, Makima’s eyes widened for a moment before quickly hiding it. “Why not? A World without death could be very beneficial to everyone. People can live with their loved ones without any worries of saying final goodbyes, they won’t have to suffer... We could-” Makima stopped midway her sentence as Y/N raised his hand.

“Just think about it real quick... without death then many things like bacterias wouldn’t be able to die as well and they would continue to consume and repopulate, same could be said to the animals. Let’s not forget about aging, Just because people are immortal doesn’t automatically mean they won’t stop aging. Of course there’s also overpopulation... While yes humanity would be happier without death but that would be only temporary and the rest afterwards would be eternal suffering.” Y/N explained

“...” Makima was quiet for a moment, she never thought about it that way. She's been too focused on her goal to think about the implications but she couldn’t back out of that yet, she’s been wanting that kind of dream for a long time. “Well, we can always find a way to control them. After all, one of the best traits of a human is persistence.” Makima said. Y/N just shook his head. “We might be able to do that but eventually. It would just implode and make things worse.” He countered.

Makima was quiet once more as she stared at him. Was he right? Has she been so absorbed in her ideal world, being with someone she so desired to be with to think about the bigger picture and now with Y/N making out great points which has made her start to think of a bigger picture. After a moment, she closed her eyes and took a deep breath then let it go with a quiet sigh. Makima opened her eyes to look at him. “I see... Thank you for your feedback.” she stated. Once more, Y/N just nodded and gestured for her to continue on walking back home.

Eventually both of them had returned home and both of them had gone straight to bed since they had work for tomorrow. Makima meanwhile was staring at the ceiling, her mind kept coming back to the conversation. She was forced to actually think about the bigger picture in a world without death. Maybe she should just change something in her plan, something that might need adjustment. But as she thought about it more, she found that there was no way of that happening and she wasn’t disappointed that her ideal world wouldn’t work but rather she was relieved in a way.  “You’ve challenged my plans... and You managed to make me see it won’t work.” Makima thought to herself then a small genuine smile formed on her face. Y/N wasn’t just a roommate, he was someone who might be able to change her views on how she planned things.

Makima couldn’t wait to see more of that side... But for now, she should get some sleep. She has work to do tomorrow after all.

Makima stared at the entrance of the apartment. From what she saw and heard from Y/N, this was his family’s apartment. Well, she had to make it quick. There were 30 convicts being escorted to the shrine she’s burrowing and while they were being prepared. Makima had decided for a quick stop in Y/N’s apartment, without wasting anymore time she knocked on the door.

After a moment of silence the door opened up to reveal a woman in her late 40s, he was surprised when she saw Makima. “Hello there, Miss.” Makima greeted then she looked down, trying to look somber, which seemed to work since the lady was now looking worried. “Can I come in, Miss? It is quite an important matter.” Makima added. The lady hesitated for a moment then she moved to the side. “Of course, you can.” she replied. Makima nodded and walked inside the apartment. 

Makima looked around the apartment for a moment, so this was the place Y/N was raised in, it was comfortable then her gaze returned to the lady. “I am here to deliver terrible news regarding your son.” Makima stated then she took a brief look at Y/N’s mother and Makima saw her eyes were widened in shock and there was a slight horror slowly building up. “Y/N? What about him... Did something happen to him, was it by a devil?” She asked, placing her hand on her chest.

“Something like that but First bring the rest of the family here, I believe it would be much easier as a group to drop such a news.” Makima stated, Y/N’s mother nodded and yelled out for her husband and other child to come to the living room. Both of them took a moment to arrive in the living room and at the same time they entered the living room. Y/N’s father was confused when they saw Makima while Y/N’s sibling immediately felt that something was wrong. “Is everything wrong?” They questioned

“Take a seat you three. You would need it.” Makima stated as she gestured to the couch. All three of them slowly nodded and headed to the couch. Makima waited for them to sit down and once they did, Makima’s expression turned grim as she prepared to tell the news. “I’m afraid he was one of the few who caused an attack that killed most of the divisions. He was captured and taken into Public Safety’s custody due to the nature of the attack.”

All three of them fell silent upon hearing Makima’s words then Y/N’s mother was the first one to speak up. “N-no! My boy wouldn’t do that!” Y/N’s mother exclaimed, her voice trembling. Makima’s expression remained grim, “I’m sorry Miss, but that’s the case.” Makima replied as she pulled out an envelope and handed it to Y/N’s mother.

Y/N’s mother hesitated then slowly she opened the envelope and pulled out the contents. Both Y/N’s father and sibling leaned in to read over her shoulder, they slowly read it. Y/N’s father’s jaw tightened while his sibling’s expression fell and Y/N’s mother’s hands trembled, her breathing growing shakier and shakier.

Makima watches as their world turns upside down as they read the letter, then finally they finish reading it. Y/N’s mother placed the letter down, she took a deep shaky breath then again and again... but the dam broke and she began to cry. Makima felt pity for Y/N’s mother, as much as she didn’t want to ruin Y/N’s image to others but with his family, she knew she had to go to such lengths to ensure others won’t distract Y/N from her.

Y/N’s sibling turn to look at Makima, their expression filled with shock and hurt. “D-did Y/N really... Did he really make an unauthorised contract with the gun devil?!” They questioned. Makima just nodded. “That was the case, unfortunately.” She answered. Once more their expression shifted, their shoulders slumped and took a shaky breath then they buried their face in their hand and took another shaky breath.

“Where is he?” Y/N’s father questioned. Makima turned to look at him upon hearing the question, then she looked away to act like she was hesitating. “From what I learned, he was taken into custody.” she replied

He taken a deep breath and exhales before placing his hands flat on the coffee table. He couldn’t find any words even when he found them, they got stuck in his throat. Makima watched them for a moment then finally she spoke up once more. “Well as much as I want to express my grievings, I have work to do.” Makima stated. She reached out and grabbed the report from them and walked away from the family.

As Makima left the apartment, a sense of satisfaction filled her body.

After executing the convicts to attack the yakuza all the way from Tokyo, Makima had decided to return alot earlier than intended and Michiko and Yutaro decided to follow her to Tokyo as well. Which is why Makima is leading Michiko and Yutaro in the busy train station and when they got closer to the stairs, they saw someone standing there, waiting for them. His shirt was covered in blood. This person was none other than Madoka. “Good to see you’re still alive. Madoka.” Makima stated then she tilted her head in a curious manner. “How much of the special divisions are still alive?” She questioned.

“Special divisions 1, 2, 3 and 4 came under gunfire simultaneously. Aside from the non-humans, almost everyone were killed.” He explained. “A shooting specifically targeting the special division. Odds are the gun devil is involved.” Makima replied.

“I have a message from the higher ups. Due to the personnel shortage, special divisions 1, 2 and 3 will be merged with division 4. From this point forward, they’re placing Special division 4 under your command.” Madoka explained once more then he reached for his pocket and picked up a letter and handed it to her. “Also this is for you.” He added

Makima grabbed the letter and looked at it. “What is it?”

“My resignation.” he answered

“You’re quitting.”

“The division’s gotten sinister. It’s quit or be killed.”

“I see.”

“...” Madoka considered asking for a moment then decided to do so anyway. “Answer one last question for me. How much of this had you anticipated?” He questioned.

Makima just turned away from him. “I’m really not at liberty to discuss Public Safety’s affairs with civilians.” Makima replied. “Thank you for your service, Madoka. I’ll pass this on.” Makima added as she pocketed the resignation letter. Without waiting for a response she began to walk away from him and both Michiko and Yutaro followed behind.

In the back both Michiko and Yutaro look at eachother then Yutaro was the one who spoke up. “Uh... Miss Makima? You know it’s not like we’re joining your special division, right...?”

“We’re only here for training, You know...?” Michiko added

“One week from now, we’ll be on our way back to kyoto.”

“That’s ashame. There are so many great restaurants.” Makima stated, in a way she was really disappointed. Both Michiko and Yutaro have an interesting contract. But the disappointment was soon replaced with something else. Once more Makima felt a sense of satisfaction filled her body. With Y/N’s family out of the way, with Kain being killed. There were less distractions now.

After a long day doing paper work, there was alot of them since well there was casualties from all 4 divisions. So Makima was glad that she had finally returned home, returned to Y/N but right now she was waiting in the elevator ride. Waiting until she arrives on the floor she desires.

DING

Makima walked out of the elevator as it arrived at her desired floor and walked towards her apartment then she was in front of the door and without hesitation she grabbed her keys and unlocked the door then opened it. Makima walked into her apartment and the first thing she saw was Y/N pacing, he only stopped to turn to look at the doorway when he heard the door opening up and saw Makima.

Makima watched Y/N’s shoulders ease up upon seeing her, he walked up to her until he was in front of her. “Oh thank god. You’re okay.” Y/N said as he placed his hands on her shoulders. Makima stared at him, Y/N was worried about her... It felt right. “I was worried, ya know. I heard the news talk about the attack and I thought you...” Y/N trailed off then he shook his head to clear away those thoughts.

A small smile formed on Makima’s face, she placed her hand on Y/N’s cheek. “There was no need to worry. I wasn’t hit, not a single time.” She reassured. Y/N let out a breath he didn’t know he was holding then a smile formed on his face. “You’re cool, you know that.” he replied. Makima felt a shift within her once more upon his words especially seeing that smile of his, Makima had already figured out what she felt towards Y/N but this moment was just a clarity on what she felt. Makima was indeed in love towards Y/N and she found herself not wanting any distractions, just her and Y/N... And her dogs of course.

Both of them fell into a comfortable silence as they stared at eachother. While Makima was staring, she once more thought about what she had done awhile back. The way she memorized his face, the way his skin felt then Makima broke the silence.

“Y/N.”

“Yeah?”

“Can I memorize your face again?”

“Of course.”

Something to share

Usually I don't like sharing my work especially since some of them may not be published at all But I thought why not share some of them.

This one is a DBZxCSM crossover fic. I was inspired by A Devil's Light by SilverSoulmmc.

Majin Buu is the universe's first devil, the reason for that being in one of the dubs Shin had said Buu was made instrument of fear and terror and for this crossover it would literally take that as fact instead of being line change by translators.

Buu's essence despite being sealed was so evil that when Humans started evolving. The Devils were created, to continue on Buu's desire to destroy all living things.

However as the Humans continue to evolved, the devils evolved with them, becoming their own person instead of being mindless beasts.

NOT A FANFIC EXACTLY.

So I've been thinking about something.

You see, I'm currently writing Yandere Makima fanfic and that made me think. Could there be other csm character who could become a yandere? Then i thought about it more and realized, yes it can happen! You just needed to tweak abit of their traits

for example. Kobeni; all you have to do is make her desperate for some sense of safety and someone would provide her such thing. to push her towards the yandere side of things, do the eternity devil canon thing and during that time. Kobeni would lose her mind and think about that certain someone.

once that happens, make it so that during the katana man attack. that someone barely makes it out alive, that would make Kobeni snap and turn into a yandereish since She's under pressure from her parents, had recently left the eternity devil and the looping setting made it so she felt isolated then not even few days later, Arai dies and that certain someone had been hospitalized and now she's seeing them in a friendly conversation with another woman.

The Declining Control. (Alternative end to Makima's death)

Makima just tried smoking but she found herself unable to do so and ended up coughing. Then she look down at the chainsaw heart beside her, she reached down and grabbed to speak to it  "I've beaten you twice. Chainsaw Man. You belong to me now. We'll be together forever." Makima spoke to herself as she stared down at the heart then she nuzzled into it. She continued to speak to it, hoping that he could hear her claiming him. "Let's eat alot together, sleep together... and live a happy life together."

She was so busy thinking about their future together that she didn't notice one of the bodies getting up until it was too late. Makima heard footsteps getting closer and a chainsaw? revving up and she turned around just in time for her to see who snuck up on her. It was Denji, she was caught off guard and he slashed her chest down to her waist. "Ah..." She let out a surprise noise with a hint of pain in her voice, she looked at Denji then briefly at the chainsaw man's body but how?

"You fiiiinally let your guard down... I'll be taking Pochita back now, thanks." Denji then reached down towards his heart and grabbing it to put it back inside. "Man talk about a close one... I wounded up usin' every drop of blood Power gave me..."

"How...? are you...?"

Denji explained that He and Pochita had switched places and that was thanks to vaguely remembering Pochita throwing his heart down earlier while he fell from space. Makima had finally noticed that she wasn't healing as fast as she usually does which Denji explained why and it was because of Power's blood. "This is hardly enough to-"

"Yeah I don't expect a cheap trick like this to kill you" Denji interrupted, Makima once again looked up to meet his eyes then they heard a van arriving. “Oh! Master’s here to pick us up. Great timing.” Denji spoke to himself then his attention returned to Makima. “Sorry ‘bout this Ms. Makima.” he said as he was about to rev up the blood chainsaw, he hesitated and considered his options then Denji shook his head in denial. 

Kishibe seeing Denji not finishing off Makima decided to check in on him. He got out of the van and walked up to them. A small frown on his face. “Shouldn’t you finish the job?” Kishibe asked as he stared down at Makima before turning his attention to Denji but Denji just shrugged. “This cut is deep enough. She has to work on healing her bones and organs as well so bleeding out will get the job done. Besides the more we injure her, the more people get hurt and it might unintentionally drain Power’s blood faster and she would most likely take that chance to heal so I think it's best we leave it like that.” He explained but the truth is Denji didn’t want to hurt more women and girls who were affected by Makima’s contract, The guys? Oh well, tough luck.

Kishibe just stared at Denji for a moment then he let out a sigh. “That’s not a bad point... But the moment she shows any signs of recovering. Just finish the job.” He stated and just like that he headed back to the van.

Denji’s attention returned to Makima then he got on her level and took her in his arms “C’mon, Miss Makima. We’re heading back to public safety.” Denji muttered as he began to carry her to the van. “Y-you’re making a mistake, Denji.” Makima warned as her head rested against Denji’s shoulder, unable to lift her head due to her strength weakening. “I hope not... I really don’t wanna cut you more.” He replied.

Both of them had arrived in the van and Denji gently placed Makima on the back and he went to the other door and got in the van. Kishibe looked at the rear mirror then he spoke up. “Are you two seated properly?” He grunted. Denji turned to look at Makima for a moment then he nodded.

Kishibe started the van and began to drive away from the battlefield. All three of them were quiet as they drove away from the mass graveyard then after a moment they had entered a road and shortly after they left, a bunch of clean up crew began to show up and passed the van. It seems like Public safety had been waiting for the battle to end, it didn’t matter who had won.

The Van continued on driving away and in the back. Makima rested her head on the window and her gaze watching as the clouds and poles passed by. Makima didn’t even want to look at either of them, she felt humiliated in some way. Makima couldn’t believe that Denji has used her idol as a bait by taking advantage of the fact she might’ve not memorized his scent. No matter if it was a mistake on her part, she’ll fix it once she heals and find a way to escape whatever containment public safety would put her in.

She would find Denji, wait for him to grow attached to someone then she’ll take them out so she could take chainsaw man for good.

As they got closer to Tokyo. Makima could feel her body weakening, her breathing shallower with each passing moment. Denji noticed and fully turned to look at her. Denji knew that she was about to die, as someone who experiences death time and time again. He had to start knowing when someone was close to it. “Miss Makima-”

“D-don’t.” Makima interrupted, she was trying to sound commanding but her voice was losing its edge as she was weakening.

Denji was quiet for a moment as he considered her demand. But he decided to ignore her orders for once. Denji moved closer then once close enough he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her closer. Makima’s eyes widen as she felt Denji pull her into a hug... The hug reminded Makima of that movie both she and Denji saw awhile back, That time Makima had let her guard down, showing Denji her vulnerable side she rarely ever showed. She always wanted something... someone she could see as an equal and she had been denied that most of her life even when she shares the same title with those three back in hell it never truly felt like they were equals.

Denji didn’t let go, not yet at least and Makima found herself wanting to wrap her arms around him but she was unable to do so, was it because she was getting weaker due to dying or was it because Denji wasn’t someone she so desired to be equals with. Well she can’t dwell on it because Makima could feel the cold embrace of death seeping into her body 

Makima’s vision begins to fade.

...

She finds her pain begins to feel dull.

... 

Makima’s body grew heavy, her breathing and heart beat began to slow down.

...

Makima could feel death’s embrace growing tighter then before she could lose consciousness, she hears Denji’s whisper to her ear.

"You were the first person to properly hug me... so let me be your last."

Control's Possession. (CH-2)

CHAPTER TWO: And so her feelings were realized. (5126 words + Bonus story which itself is 845 words)

You let out yawn as you woke up. You stared at the ceiling for a moment, it has been a few days since you fully moved into Makima’s apartment and so far it was a decent experience. The place was nice and tidy, Makima’s dogs. Gosh where can you start? They’re absolutely adorable! And they can be a little handful but by now you are getting used to their antics. Whenever you knelt down to pet one of them, they would see the chance to dog pile on you and assault your face with licks!

You let out a sigh. You just want to lay in your comfortable bed and sleep but you know that you have stuff to do today. You got up from the comfortable bed and walked to the drawer to pick up some clothes and put them on, they were mismatched... you never really cared that much with the presentable look stuff, just use some clothes and you’re satisfied with what you’re wearing or you don’t comb your hair too much only occasionally to make sure your hair wouldn’t be too unkempt to bother your vision.

You looked into the mirror and took off the bandaid that was in your cheek and put it on the bin and fixed a bit of your hair then you turned to the door and leave your bedroom to make your way to the kitchen, You didn’t quite know when Makima wakes up so you tried your best to be quiet... Unfortunately you couldn’t be quiet, not with an apartment full of dogs.

The youngest husky whose fur is grey and his eyes black: Spice had came up to you, his tail wagging eager for more of your attention and he barked at you which caught the other huskies attention as result. “Uh-oh.” and before you knew it they were surrounding you. “Calm down, calm down. First we’re getting breakfast.” You said as you continued onwards to the kitchen. The dogs barked in response and followed behind.

Once you and the dogs arrived at the kitchen you opened up one of the cabinets and grabbed a coffee bag and put it on the coffee maker. Once the coffee started brewing, you opened another cabinet and grabbed a bunch of dog foods and the dogs’ tail somehow wagged even faster at the sight of dog food then you turned to look at them with a soft sternness in your eyes. “Sit and wait.” you commanded. The pups listened to your command and sat down but they were still eyeing the dog food you held.

The bowls were now full and you put the dog food bag back in the cabinet you had found earlier then you turned to look at the seven huskies, they stared back with anticipation eagerness which made you smile at the sight. “Alright now doggos. You can start!” you announce and all of the seven dogs speed-walk to their respective bowls and they begin to devour them like it was their favorite food.

A smile widened on your face watching them eat. With them eating now and Makima’s coffee (Maybe yours if she wasn’t here) still brewing, you decide to make some breakfast and in case Makima was here in the morning you grabbed some extra ingredients and thus you begin cooking up some breakfast for yourself and possibly for Makima. You slice down the vegetables and the fish meat with ease, one that was filled with years of experience and a few minutes after. You switched to another set breakfast to make.

You were focused on making the breakfast and while you were at it, you began to hum on some music you heard awhile back and after a moment you were done with the initial stages of making breakfast and your attention returned to the coffee maker to see if it was done brewing which it was.

You grabbed a cup that you assumed was Makima’s and went to the coffee maker and pour it to the cup then your attention return to the one of the breakfasts to see if anything was getting caught on fire or not and fortunately they weren’t getting messed up so you placed the cup on the table and moved towards the breakfast to finish them.

And eventually you had finished the breakfasts and just in time to hear quiet footsteps coming closer in the hallway. Makima’s Dogs heard it too because they turned to look at the kitchen’s entrance, their tail wagging while one of the dogs even got closer to the entrance in anticipation as they stared at the kitchen’s entrance.

After a moment of patience from the dogs, Makima had finally arrived to the kitchen and the dogs were already on her side to get her attention. You turned to look at the entrance and a smile formed on your face as you saw Makima starting to pet her dogs. “Morning, Makima.” You greet as you begin to place the plates on the table. “Good morning to you too. Y/N.” She greeted back as her attention shifted towards the table.

“That’s quite the breakfast you made.” Makima noted while her gaze never left on the table. “Oh yeah. Since you’re a devil hunter you must burn alot of calories. Working, patrol, fighting and training. So it makes sense why I made this much.” You explained.

Makima then turned to look at you, she stared at you with a neutral face, she couldn’t believe it. Someone was actually thinking about her health. While she doesn’t train as much as others due to her biology, it was still mandatory to train herself up especially fighting devils despite the massive power difference between her and most devils, some are still tricky to take down. “I see. I appreciate your concern but I am fine with what I usually eat.”

“Even then. I think it's best that you do have them just in case.” you insisted as you sat down from the chair. “Now then, eat up.” You said with a smile, Makima’s gaze never left your face for a moment then she also sat down on her side of the table and she began to eat breakfast with a cup of coffee in her other hand. You watched for a moment then You had start eating down on your breakfast as well and Makima then look up to stare at your face once more then she finally spoke up

“I never got to say this awhile back but I did enjoy that lunch you brought me.” Makima said as she looked down to grab the fork and spoon to start eating. “Mhm, Glad you did.” you replied back after swallowing your food.

Makima continued to eat her part of breakfast and like last time she ate his cooking. It was amazingly delicious then curiosity began to seep into her mind. What inspired you to start cooking so then Makima looked up to stare at your face, she studied your features for a bit and her curiosity grew more. Makima could just get the information herself or maybe she can ask you that question.

That’s when you finally noticed Makima staring at your face once more, a small smile formed on your face. “Something in my face?” You questioned, Makima’s gaze never left your face then she shook her head. “Not exactly. Just curious.” She said after swallowing down her breakfast, you tilted your head slightly. “Oh? What are you curious about that you had to stare at my face?” you asked. Makima’s gaze never left your face until she finally talked. “Your cooking skills. I am just wondering about that.”

A glimmer of surprise slightly filled your eyes then it quickly shifted to nostalgia. “Oh that thing. Well, I learned to cook back when I used to work with my family’s restaurant back in Kyoto.” You answered, Makima hummed at the answer while still maintaining her gaze on you.

“And what made you stay?”

“It was supposed to be for studying but I grew to like Tokyo so that’s why I decided to stay.”

“And what about the Family Restaurant? You could’ve inherited it if you returned.”

You just shrugged at the question. “It would be fine. My sibling also works there... besides Dad has been training them longer so they'd be fine as the next owner anyways.” You answered. Makima’s gaze continues to linger on your face. A part of her wanted to say she was glad that you decided to stay but she didn’t voice it out instead she voiced out another question. “Does your family try to convince you to come back?”

You hummed at the question then nodded. “Yep. occasionally they do ask if i want to come back and honestly... Maybe someday I might come back.” Makima’s grip on her cup tightened. She didn’t know why she felt dismayed at the thought of you potentially leaving Tokyo, l̶e̶a̶v̶i̶n̶g̶ h̶e̶r̶.

“Is that so... Perhaps we should do a farewell celebration when the time comes.”

“Yeah I would like that.” You agreed. Makima hummed, sounding somewhat pleased that you agreed to let her do that when the time comes.

Both of them fell in comfortable silence. They continued to eat their breakfast until eventually they had finished it and you were the one to pick up the plates and begin to clean them up in the sink. The doggos had taken advantage of the fact that both of you were done eating so one of them had grabbed the leash and walked up to Makima. Their tails wagging in anticipation, Makima looks down to see what her dog was holding then a small smile forms on her face.

Makima placed her hands onto the dog’s head and began to pet her. “Does the little one want walkies?” Makima cooed as she continued to pet one of her dogs and the dog let out a small whine as response.

You gave a side glance to see what was going on with the both of them then you look at the clock and you can see that it was mid way in the morning.  “Oh, it's morning walk already?” You questioned yourself. “Well then it seems like she got it handled.” You thought to yourself while you started finishing up the plates one of the dogs walked up to you as well.

You heard one of the dogs being next to you so you looked down once you placed the plates in the plate basket. “Oh.” You stared down at him as one of Makima’s dogs looked up at you while holding the other leash on her mouth. You took the leash from her mouth and pet her with your other hand then you looked at the leash before looking up to stare at Makima who was still petting her dog. “Hey Makima.” You called out to get her attention which you did because she looked up at you.

“You wouldn’t mind if I follow you guys for this one?” You asked as you showed one of the leashes the dog had given you. Makima raised brow curiously then she nodded “Of course, It’s fine if you can follow. Besides, the pups had taken a liking to you.” Makima stated.

“Great! Let’s get started then.” you said with a smile, you gestured for the dogs close to you to follow so you could grab more leashes. Half of the dogs followed you, their tail wagging eagerly. Makima watched for a moment then she turned her attention back to her other dogs. “Well pups, let’s get going.” and just like that she got up from her chair and walked where you had walked off with her dogs following behind.

Walking the dogs was rather uneventful... for Makima’s part at least, as for you? You were chasing half of Makima’s dogs around in the park one moment but Makima didn’t stop her dogs because it looked like you were having some fun doing so, so Makima had let them be and watch from the park bench.

And after that both You and Makima had decided to go back home since both of you had work to do in an hour and As both you continued to walk the dogs back home, you couldn’t help but notice the side glances from her once more. It was something worth noting because she has been doing it since you had moved into her apartment and now that you think about it. It has been like Makima has been studying your facial features but with the way she would furrow her brows in frustration it was like she was unable to fully comprehend it, it was such a small detail but you knew that even the small details matter.

You wanted to ask her about it but since both of you were still in a public setting, you decided to hold back a question. Eventually both of you had reached your shared apartment, you taken the leashes out of the dogs collars and placed them on the hanger then you walked up to one of the cabinets while Makima took a seat on the chair and one of her dogs followed her, still eager for attention.

After filling up the cup, you turn to look at Makima with a hint of curiosity in your eyes, you watched as she pet her dog. You took a slow slip as you thought about how you would word your question then finally you just decided to ask something.

“Hey Makima?” You called out. Makima’s focus remained on the dogs but you can see that she was listening. “Are You happen to be face blind?” As soon as your question left your mouth there was a tense silence for a moment that even her dogs backed away from her. “My condition is not a concerning matter.” Makima stated. You furrowed your brows at her words then you made your way towards her then knelt down in front of her. You grabbed her hands and placed them in your face. “Well then I noticed that you’ve been staring at my face quite abit recently so why not feel my face so you can memorize a face?”

Makima stared down at you as her heart started to flutter once more. No one has ever let them do this, let her study their features just so she could recognize their face yet here you are letting her memorize your face. Her eyes slightly wide then she started to let her fingers study your face. Her fingers tracing over your lips, your jaw, nose and cheeks then ears to feel the shape of them.

Her fingers would linger on your lips and when she caught herself doing so, she would move to another feature of yours. One thing repeated in her mind. “Such soft lips.” then another thought refused to leave, had you kissed someone before? The idea itself bothered her and she couldn’t figure out why.

Eventually Makima stopped on your cheeks, she look deep into your eyes

“How did you know?”

“Well I didn’t, it was more like a hunch not to mention I studied some conditions while I was still studying here.”

“I see...” Makima muttered, her gaze never left his. Well as much as she wanted to keep looking into his eyes, she has work to do. Slowly Makima let go of his cheeks. “I should get to work.” Makima said before hearing Y/N’s response, Makima got up from the chair and began to head to the door.

Once at the entrance of the door, Makima looked back trying to see Y/N’s face one more and he waved goodbye to her, a small smile form on her face then she turned back to the door and walked out of her apartment.

Makima was explaining Denji the works of the paperwork and the consequences of fighting a devil without control. But she can see that Denji was spacing out, mindlessly writing that’s when she finally asked Denji. “Denji. Is something bothering you?” she questioned and  Denji stopped writing as the pen remained pressed on the paper. “I... I finally got to my hands on something I'd been chasing all this time.” Denji mumbled. Ah yes. Dreams. Hers is literally right beside her yet at the same time. It felt out of reach.

Makima continued to listen to what Denji was saying. How he was able to grab hold of something he wanted yet he felt it didn’t bring much fulfilment and now he felt he might need to chase another then his hands started trembling. “Isn’t that the shittest feeling?” He asked with a trembling voice. Makima placed her hand to her chin as she studied the hybrid then she asked him a question. “What are you talking about, Denji?”

Denji calmed down enough that his hands were no longer trembling. “I’m talking about getting to feel someone’s breasts for the first time and it didn’t feel special at all.” Denji stated. Makima hummed to herself as her gaze went to his hand. Makima wondered if the Devil was acting as Denji’s heart, wouldn’t that mean he would feel her body? Wouldn’t it feel ground to feel his touch that wasn’t in any harmful/killing intent? Perhaps she should test that theory?

Makima grabbed Denji’s wrist and with a free hand spun the chair until he faced her. “Denji. I think... Naughty things feel better the more you know your partner.” Then her hand went up to grab hold of his hand. “It’s difficult to understand another’s heart... so first, take your time studying her hands... how long her fingers are? Are her palms cold or warm?” then she placed Denji’s hand to her ear. “How are her ears shaped?”

Then she led Denji’s hand next to her mouth and before he could fully process what just happened, she placed his thumb to her lips. “Have you ever had your finger bitten?” he let out a sound, she continued. “Memorize it.”

“Know it so well that even if you lost your sight. You’d recognize me by my bite.” She bit it a little firmly then she let it go after kissing the thumb. “I memorized it…” Denji had finally found his voice once more and he was about to lose it again because Makima just placed his hand to her chest.

Denji, startled and a little excited, fell off back from the chair and stared into his hand, the one that just held Makima’s breast. All the while Makima just stared down at him with a hint of disappointment filling her eyes.

Denji was right. It was a shitty feeling, to have what you wanted and not be fulfilled. Perhaps it was because it was Denji instead of the devil within him or because she hasn’t felt that much Intimacy without any strings attached... Makima’s mind slowly shifted to Y/N. When she was memorizing his face. feeling his skin, his lips under her finger tips it felt something. It felt warm, something she wants to experience once more.

But she pushed those thoughts aside for now. “I have a favor to ask you. Can I?”

“Okay.”

Makima grabbed the chair and made it stand before sitting down on it. “I want you to defeat the gun devil.”

Makima was reading yesterday’s reports, It seems like Denji and the others had finished taking down the eternity devil and had found one of the gun devil’s flesh however they were stuck inside there for “few days” while in the outside it had just turned late evening, both Denji and Aki getting injured, Aki due to Kobeni’s desperate attempt to escape and Denji fighting the eternity devil for days.

Makima set the reports aside after she had finished reading them, since she wasn’t reading reports or fighting devils or containing fiends. Makima was forced to think about what she felt towards her roommate.

whenever she wasn’t next to him or when she wasn’t focusing on her work, she would think about him ever since she compared feeling Y/N’s skin and feeling Denji’s and it distracted her with her job because she had checked in on him more than she had with Denji. She knew that she should just focus on her project yet she couldn’t help but think about what Y/N was doing, see if he was with others... especially from the women.

“What is this...?” Makima murmured to herself as she thought about the feelings, it felt odd. Something alien yet it felt similar when she first watched that battle, the same battle that devil used his ability years ago but the difference was something else. She couldn’t fully pinpoint what made it different despite the similar feeling and it bothered her.

As someone who has been able to figure out many ways to control the situations, A simple roommate situation was one that was hard to understand and it bothered her. Makima’s thoughts were interrupted by a knock, she turned to look at it and try to smell who it was and from the smell of it, it was Aki. She cleared her thoughts then spoke up loud enough for Aki to hear. “Come in.”

The Door opened up and Aki walked in, then closing the door, He walked towards her desk before stopping in front of it. Makima noticed the bag in his hand and Makima knew what it was, after all she was the one who placed it in that devil. “I’m here to drop off the reports, The Patrol went well... Also Me and Himeno had found a devil carrying one of the gun devil flesh.” Aki explained as he placed the reports beside the stacks of reports then gave the bag to Makima.

“Mhm.” Makima hummed as she taken the case under her desk and putting it on her desk before opening it to reveal the flesh of gun devil that has been slowly but surely put part in small pieces and the flesh reacted to eachother the smaller piece in the the bag in her hand was being pulled towards the bigger one. Once she put it out of the bag she let go and the small flesh flew to the bigger one and merged into it.

Makima then turns to meet Aki’s gaze, Makima tilted her head to the side curiously. “Is something in your mind, Aki?” She questioned. Aki nodded and cleared his throat then spoke up. “I was wondering if you want to come to the party before you leave for Kyoto.” Aki said, slightly shifting his feet. Makima was about to respond with a decline, she was going to be busy after all then she realized that she could take a chance. “A party?” Makima asked as she tilted her head to the side. Aki nodded. “Yes. Himeno has decided that the rookies should be celebrated.” Aki added.

A smile formed on Makima’s face as she thought about it. She wondered how Y/N would act while drunk or if He would say something to her when they’re home together? She has to know. “You wouldn’t mind if I brought a plus one, would you?” Makima asked

Aki couldn’t help but raise a brow at the question. “A plus one?” He asked. Whenever she had accepted invites from him or others, Makima had never once brought plus ones then he shrugged it off. “Uhh sure you may.” Aki added

“Wonderful, I’ll be there.” Makima said then a curious expression replaced her smile. “Have you or Himeno figured out the time and place?” She asked, Aki nodded. ”Yeah we talked about it on the way. During late evening and we’re going to-” Aki then explained where they’re going and when they’re there. “And that's where we’re going to be.” Aki finished explaining, Makima nodded as she noted the place and time. “Alright, Aki. I’ll be sure to be there with my plus one.” Makima stated then she dismissed him with a gesture.

Aki just nodded and began to leave the office. Leaving Makima alone to work, Makima stared at the door for a moment before turning to look at the reports Aki had left, then she began to file them so she could finish work early.

Eventually Makima had finished her work early and returned home to her apartment as Makima walked through the hallway, she thought about ways to convince Y/N if he had declined to be her plus one.

Makima walked inside and looked around in the living room. She couldn’t see Y/N or her dogs but she knows they were still here judging by the scent. As Makima was about to call out for Y/N, she heard something fall in the kitchen which was shortly followed by a “Oof” and her dogs’ barking. Curiously she begin to walk towards the kitchen where Y/N and her dogs were in. Once in the entrance of the kitchen, Makima looked in and saw a sight that would be stuck to her mind.

Y/N was on the floor while her dogs surrounded him trying to get something and from what Makima saw it was a snack, they were determined to get Y/N’s snack but he held it high and because of it. Some of them started to lick on his face so Y/N could lower his guard and Y/N couldn’t help but laugh at what they were trying to do yet He remained on guard and didn’t lower his arm. Makima watched the scene and once more she could feel something shift within her but unlike last time it was warmer, replacing the coldness that used to be the constant feeling and Makima had finally realized what she has been feeling in recent days... This was home, from this day and forward she might see this sight more and... and it felt amazing.

This was also the moment that Makima finally realized what she was feeling towards Y/N, one she has longed for since she’s been a child; love.

There was a hint of amusement in Makima’s yellow eyes and a small smile in her mouth as she continued to watch the scene. One of her dogs noticed her presence and barked as if she was saying Makima has returned. The Dogs stopped hounding on Y/N and sat down on the floor as they looked at her, their tail still wagging. The overgrown pups looked like they didn’t try to steal Y/N’s snack at all! “Good afternoon, Y/N. I see that the pups were trying to get your snack.” Makima commented

Y/N was relieved that the dogs had stopped hounding him then realized why it was the case, he turned to look at the entrance and saw Makima, Y/N got up from the floor and gave a sheepish smile. “Oh? You’re home early.” He sounded surprised, Y/N didn’t expect to see Makima Home this early. She was a bit of a workaholic after all then she tilted her head to the side. “Yes I am home quite early, There was nothing left to do so I decided to head back home.” She replied

“Honestly I was wondering if i would have to take another walk with them alone cause they’ve been getting restless.“ Y/N said as he gestured to the dogs then he began to eat the snack on his hand, the dogs stared at it longingly. Makima noticed their gaze on Y/N’s snacks, she reached out and petted one of them which they leaned into her hand. “They still would appreciate it even when you’re alone.” Makima replied as she slowly pulled away from the dog’s head.

One of the other dogs moves closer to Y/N then sits down and looks up at him with a pleading expression. Y/N noticed the dog’s expression then he looked down at the snack in his hand then his gaze returned to the dog. Y/N let out a sigh, he really couldn’t deny them especially with an expression like that and Y/N gave a piece of the snack which the dog happily took.

Makima watched with amusement as the dogs surrounded him once more so they could have some as well then leaned to the counter as Y/N sat on one of the chairs after he fed them fairly and both of them fell into a silence, it felt comfortable and Makima almost didn’t want to break it... Almost and after a long moment, she spoke up. “Y/N?” Y/N let out hummed, signaling Makima that he was listening. “There’s an upcoming party. Would you like to be my plus one?”

Y/N turned to look at Makima with a raised brow. “A party?” He muttered, a small smile formed on her face. “Yes. a party, one of my employees told me that the celebration was going to be about the rookies.” Makima stated. Y/N frowns as he thinks about it then Y/N shook his head. “I dunno... this seems to be more of a company party.” Y/N answered, Makima’s small smile faded, her body tightening up. She just stared at him, disappointment in her yellow eyes but she already came up with a counter answer. “It’s not really a company party because only division 4 will be there, if it was then the first, second and third division would’ve also come along.” she added

Y/N was quiet as he considered it and Makima saw that to give a little push into him agreeing. “It would be great for us to get to know eachother better. We are usually busy with work and we usually use what little time we have with the rest of the day as some personal time. I mean look at it, we wake up. Talk in the morning while having breakfast then either one of us walk the dogs which after that we work for the rest of the day.” Makima explained smoothly. Makima stared at Y/N’s face, trying to imagine the features she had memorized with her hands then his expression shifted as Y/N considered it which made her have to reimagine his face.

Then a small smile forms on Y/N’s face. “You know what, yeah I can be your plus one.” Y/N responded. Makima felt her body eased up as Y/N finally agreed to her request and she smiled back. “Thank you, Y/N.” she stated. Makima’s gaze remained on Y/N’s face, she wanted to reach out and memorize his features again. But for now, she’ll wait.

BONUS STORY

Denji has noticed something off ever since he left the eternity devil's stomach. At first it was small things, things he wouldn't notice if he wasn’t looking hard enough or give a crap about, like Kobeni's hair clips being on the left side instead of right or Arai's scar being smaller then there was one big change where he found out Makima has a sister named "Yoru" then next revival there was no such sister as "Yoru". understandably Denji was so confused about the changes that kept happening after his deaths and revivals.

Of course Recently Denji and Power were sent to be trained by Kishibe and the first thing he did was killing him and power just to be revived for more tortu- I mean training. The small things kept changing like how Kishibe didn't have a scar in his cheek or how the names in the grave changed.

Like with the "Yoru" Change, there was also one big change after one of his deaths and revivals from his training with Kishibe.

Denji's eyes snapped open when someone revved up his chainsaw heart and he sat up with a gasp. He looked around for that Old man… just for him to find an eye patched woman with white hair and a blank face "What the! You aren't the old man!?" Denji exclaimed as he stared at the eye-patched woman, she just stared down at him with a blank expression then she finally spoke up. "I'm guessing you're new to this thing."

"What do you mean…" He trailed off as he looked around, the names on the graves have changed once more then he turned back to look at her. "you mean like dying and waking up to changes?"

"You finally noticed it, haven't you?" The eye patched woman stated with a matter of fact tone. Denji couldn't find any words so he just nodded. "After Death, we get transferred to another world, similar to our original yet different in small ways and after a certain amount of times of death and revival, the change would be massive. Like this one, Kishibe for the amount of times, he's been training you but then You got me instead." she explained

"Do some people other than us know about this?"

"No, just us Hybrids that have this ability. Of course there could be few expectations. With devils who could access our memories"

"…" Denji was quiet for a moment as he processed what he was told, it was too much yet he was forced to understand the situation then he started to wonder about Kishibe and why this woman was the one in Kishibe’s place so obviously he blurted it out. "What happened to the old man of this world?"

The white haired woman was quiet for a moment then she finally spoke. "He had the reputation of being called "Mad Dog Kishibe" and eventually It caught up to him. She… Decided to put him down after a certain disagreement." She answered

Denji's mind raced with questions. Kishibe had said he was the strongest devil hunter so who was strong enough to kill him? and who was this SHE. The white haired woman seemed to know what he was trying to think. "For your sake. I won't answer who killed him, it's best we don't say things out loud." she stated

Before Denji could ask questions, the white haired woman continued. "Now on to the training subject. Since mentally you always change whenever you die and get revived, I made notes on what situation you're in and then our training regimen. Now before I continue I will say that I won't kill you during training like Kishibe had done."

"Wait, wait. If You won't kill me and I just got revived then how the hell did I… a version of me die in the first place then?"

The white haired woman briefly turns her gaze to the knocked out Power then returns to Denji. "It was… an oversight, I let you and Power spar and The Fiend went all out and got a lucky blow on you but unfortunately for you, your head managed to hit a rock with a sickening crunch. I never planned for you to die due to the transfer thing." She explained

Denji scowled and he turned to glare at Power. Of course she had managed to kill him, it wasn't the first time she had tried to kill him so it makes sense that she would eventually get a lucky hit but… Denji's face fell as he thought about it more, it wasn't HIS Power who killed him so could he be mad at THIS Power? well that just complicates things. The white haired woman seemed to understand the thought process. "It's better not to think about it, relationships are fragile especially when it comes to our… situation. So I'm going to tell you this. Ignorance is Bliss." she said.

Denji turned back to look at the white haired woman with a slight curiosity. "I never got your name." "My name is Quanxi."

Control's Possession

CHAPTER ONE: And so they were roommates. (2796 words)

Makima was standing in front of five men who looked to be in their 50s. There wasn’t much of a light in the room. The only source of light was the windows behind the men, which created a shadow in the front of their body. After a moment of silence one of them spoke up. “We called you here because some people are starting to question about you.”

Makima’s expression remained unchanged at the topic and the man with glasses took that as a sign to speak. “One of your neighbours back in your apartment building had requested private sector devil hunters to investigate your apartment.” Again, Makima’s expression remained unchanged as she had known about the attempted investigation about her. “You have seven working dogs under your roof yet they remain obedient and calm. They started questioning how can that be? How can working dogs such as huskies remain like that and not grow restless while you’re mostly travelling all over the country?”

That’s when Makima finally spoke up after hearing what they had to say. “And what do you suggest on what I should do about it?” The red haired woman questioned and the bald one answered her question. “What you should do is either put some of your dogs in pet shelter or get a roommate. One that’s willing to take care of your dogs and walk them, feed them while you’re away to make sure your neighbours aren’t suspicious why your dogs aren’t restless.”

Makima’s expression finally shifted into a frown as she heard their answer. The thought of giving away HER dogs to the shelter, The thought of someone else adopting and taking care of HER dogs or worse put down. “I have you know, that I got things under control back in my apartment.” Makima stated. the bald one shook his head before adding. “And it’s biting back on you. There are times where you need to control your level of control just like with your huskies. Whether you like it or not. You’re going to need to get rid of some of your dogs or get a roommate.” The rest of her bosses just nodded in agreement.

Makima’s gaze lingered on them, studying. To know a way out of this little predicament she was placed in but they seem to be determined to make sure this actually happens. A small smile formed on her face yet it looked forced. “Very well.” Her bosses looked at eachother in surprise. It wasn’t like her to immediately accept their requests, she usually makes sure to think about it. Perhaps it has to do with her recent experiment division? Maybe that’s why she’s so willing to accept their request to be on their good side? Whatever the reason she has, they can’t poke the sleeping bear too much.

Then their gaze returned to the red haired woman. “You’re dismissed for now.”

Makima nodded at the dismissal and she turned around and walked towards the door. “This will only be a temporary plan.” Makima thought to herself, There has been a reason why she has been traveling all over Japan over the years ever since she was allowed to work as a devil hunter and that was to find a special devil but she had no luck until recently she had found a lead, one in a town filled with Yakuza. Now that she had found that special devil all she had to do was capture them and once then she settled down.

Makima had taken a sip of her coffee as she waited for another person to arrive. Shortly after her meeting with her bosses, Makima had told one of her gossipful employees that she was looking for a roommate and the meet up would be around morning in a cafe and that had worked out just as she expected. So far few people have met up with her to discuss the living situation and financial payment as well. Okay she was fair with the rent but they backed off once when they had found out that she had 7 huskies and that she usually goes on a work trip, it didn’t matter to them even when she told them that her huskies were trained. They didn’t want that many dogs in their space.

“Hey. You must be Makima.” The red haired woman looked up from her coffee and she saw a man. She took a good look at him. There was a bandaid on his cheek and his hair was unkempt, his clothes didn’t seem to be ironed as well. After sipping her coffee, Makima’s gaze went to the paper where it was filled with names who might appear for this interview. “And you are?”

“Names Y/N L/N.” Y/N answered with a shrug then Makima’s gaze returned to his face once she had seen his name on the paper. Makima hummed as she put down her coffee. “Before we discuss the rant. I have something to tell you.” seeing how Y/N just titled his head curiosity, she continued. “I have dogs. Seven of them.” She waited for a reaction but the curiosity never left Y/N’s eyes and there was something else as well, excitement? “All of them are working dogs.”

“Really? I don’t mind dogs. I find them cute.”

“Also I’m away from a work trip for most days. Fortunately for you. My pups are well trained.”

“I don’t mind. We need to pay for stuff somehow after all.” Y/N said with a shrug

Makima studied Y/N for a moment. Something cold within her began to shift as her eyes lingered on Y/N’s, she didn’t know what it was but all she knew was that it was a similar feeling whenever she had taken control of someone or something. Without looking away from Y/N she continued. “The rant payment will be half. I pay mine and you'll pay yours. Is that a deal?” Makima questioned as she outstretched her hand for a handshake.

Y/N didn't hesitate and grabbed her hand. Makima felt a spark course through her the moment she felt his hand touch hers. “That's a deal.” Y/N said with a smile. Makima smiled back with a small smile. “Glad to have you under my roof.” Makima said, a part of her actually felt glad that she’ll have Y/N in her place. Where she has the most advantage. She didn’t know why she was starting to feel this way especially with the way Y/N’s eyes stared back. Reluctantly she let go of his hand. “Well then I should hand you my address so you can begin with moving your stuff.” Makima said as she began to write down her address and her apartment number on a note then she handed him the note.

Y/N looked down at the note, memorizing the address in case he somehow lost it then he put it in his pocket. Y/N looked up to stare at her with curiosity. “That street area where you live, from what I heard, the Devil or fiend sightings are quite rare. Do you have something to do with it?” He questioned, Y/N knows about Makima... welp not personally, She was basically one of the well known devil hunters. Makima let out a chuckle at the question then answered. “No need to worry about such things.”

Y/N nodded at her answer even if it didn’t feel like she didn’t answer fully. “I see... anyways, I’ll see you there. I have stuff to do.” Y/N said as he got up from the chair and he began to walk away from the cafe.

Makima could only watch as Y/N walked away, presumably to his place.

Slowly but surely. Y/N had dropped off his stuff into her apartment, Makima herself couldn’t help with it because she was busy with her work. The reason for that is that she is preparing for something. The front door opened once more and her dogs ran towards the door to greet their new human roommate.

Laughter and eager yet curious barks can be heard in the entrance of the apartment. The red haired woman got up from the table and walked out of the kitchen. Her gaze immediately was on the entrance of her apartment and she saw a pile of fluff on top of Y/N. “Now, now. Pups give him some room to breathe.” She gently commanded her dogs as she moved closer to the entrance.

One by one Makima’s dogs began to back off from Y/N and Y/N took that chance to get up from the ground, Makima’s gaze immediately met his and once more. A subtle feeling bloomed within her but she pushed it to the side for now. “You’re back.” Makima said as her gaze went to the duffle bag he was carrying, He had come in a couple of times to drop off your stuff. “Are these the last ones?” Y/N nodded with a smile, his free hand petting one of her dogs. “Yep, that's the last of my stuff.”

Y/N took a proper look at the apartment he’s going to live in for the foreseeable future, on the wall There was a big painting of an angel that was in the process of turning into a fallen angel while falling down from the heavens and most of the furnitures (especially the couch) had dog fur besides the dog fur here and there, they seem tidy up. Almost like she has things under control welp not the dog furs though but that’s to be expected having seven dogs under the roof. To his right he noticed the shoe rack (which was filled with Makima’s shoes almost full in fact) beside the door. Y/N took off his shoes and placed them on the empty spot. “You have a humble place, Makima.”

Hearing his words, Makima felt like she could smile, a real one. One where she doesn’t have to look presentable to others yet she still remained in control of her expression. Instead of a natural smile, she forced a small smile on her face. “I appreciate that you’re honest with your opinion, Y/N.”

“Y/N. I have a favor to ask.”

“Oh yeah?”

“Do you mind if you walk my dogs tomorrow morning?”

“I think I can do that.” As soon as his words left his mouth, Makima spoke. “Also I won’t be home sometime in the early morning, I'll be outside of the city to the nearby town due to the devil sighting.” Makima announced. Y/N furrowed his brows. “Really? I mean I understand that you’re basically on call with your job but like... You won’t have breakfast if you’re going to be out that early.”

“No need to worry, Y/N. I have things packed already.” Makima states. But she felt slightly embarrassed because in the midst of her excitement to capture that devil, she had forgotten to make breakfast for the morning but she won’t just admit her mistake to him. Y/N stared at her for a moment then just nodded. “Aright... anyways i should start to unpack.” He said as he began to make his way to his new bedroom. One of her dogs continues to follow their new human roommate wanting more of his pets (And praises.)

Makima’s gaze lingered on Y/N’s back until he disappeared into his bedroom.

Makima had gone out early in the morning like she planned, and arrived in the town’s warehouses where a devil was rumored to be in. The reason why she specifically chose this mission was that there was a certain devil she wanted to capture for herself but she couldn't really go there without a reason and once she had heard there was another devil within that town causing some trouble, she took the opportunity.

Unfortunately for her. The devil she was hoping to capture was “gone”. What remained of him was inside a teenage punk named Denji. Makima had decided to take him while she was trying to figure out how she would break Denji’s contract with his devil.

Which has led to this moment, Makima in her office with a tall man that has his hair tied in topknot waiting for Denji to dress up to their usual devil hunting outfit.

The door opened up and Denji walked into the office, noticing the taller man beside him. He looked at him curiously while the taller man just ignored his presence.

“This is Aki Hayakawa. He’s three years your senior here.” Makima introduced the taller man with topknot hair to Denji and he was looking at his new colleague with a confused expression then he turned to look at the red haired woman. “I’m not working with you, Miss Makima?” He questioned but Aki had grabbed hold of his shirt and began to drag him away. “Of course not. You and Miss Makima are in completely different leagues. We’re going on patrol."

Denji was calling out for Makima, basically whining that he wanted to work with her instead while Makima just stared blankly before she could walk up to him, the door opened up. “Hey, is this Makima’s office?”

Hearing Y/N’s voice both boys stopped and looked at the newcomer and Makima’s attention shifted to Y/N as well. “Oh nice, I’m not in the wrong room. Anyways. Since you didn’t have any breakfast since you left early I thought why not make you some lunch so I'm just here to give it to you.” He said as he walked closer to her desk then he placed the bento onto her desk.

Makima stared down at the bento, she reached down to the bento then she turned to look up at him. “You made this... for me?” The red haired woman asked, Y/N nodded with a smile. “Yeah I thought about it all night last night, since you won’t have breakfast I decided why not make you lunch.” Y/N explained. Makima starts to feel a little weird and she can smell Y/N’s (And the food’s) scent lingering on the bento, her hand slightly tightens on the bento as she feels her heart race faster. Makima was wondering what she was feeling? It felt similar, one that she hasn’t felt in years. Back when she watched her idol cut down the devils with ease. “There was no need...” Makima trailed off, unable to finish her sentence that she already had breakfast in some restaurant on the way back to the city. Y/N just shrugged. “Hey, we live together. Might as well get used to this.” He said with a grin.

Denji’s (and Aki’s) eyes widened and Denji pointed his fingers at Y/N. “Oi! Who the heck are you and what do you mean you live with Miss Makima?!” he exclaimed. Y/N turned around to look at the younger man. “Names Y/N, me and Makima. We're roommates.” Both males looked dumbfounded then Denji's expression slightly hardened in jealously but before he could say something to Y/N, Aki dragged him away from the office.

Y/N just stared at them with slight curiosity then he shook his head and turned back to Makima. “one of your employees?” He questioned, Makima nodded as she opened the bento to see what he made. “Mhm. The blonde one is the rookie, just hired him this lunch.” she explained then She looked up to meet his gaze. “did you walk the dogs like I asked?”

“yep, I did walk them. They were excited to be walked!” Y/N exclaimed excitedly then he cleared his throat. “Anyways, have a nice lunch. I'm going back home before the dogs do something.”

Makima watched Y/N leave. For once she let a smile form without forcing herself to smile.

BONUS SCENE

Denji was carrying Aki back to the public safety after their small fight back in the alleyway, Topknot was muttering curses under his breath but Denji was too deep in his thoughts to care too much about it. That Guy; Y/N it hasn’t left his mind ever since He came to Makima’s office!

Then suddenly Denji blurted out what was in his mind. “Is Y/N, Miss Makima’s boyfriend?” Aki stopped cursing and glared at the teenage boy then he sighed. “Not sure. That was the first time I heard Miss Makima had a roommate.”

"So do I still have a chance or…?" Denji muttered to himself if they're just roommates but again. there's a higher chance that Y/N might have a thing to Makima since he's living with her.

Aki scoffed hearing his muttering. "As if. Miss Makima is way out of your league!"

Denji sticked out his tongue. "AH. I got a hug from her earlier. what has she done to you!?"

Aki opened his mouth then close it. the closest thing Makima ever did was carry him after a long intense mission.

"That's what i thought." Denji exclaimed with a grin
