I forgot that one of the (playful, as stated by wikitionary) expressions for "bicycle" is "dick mangler". Finnish is a beautiful language.

I think that the correct muna here is the testicle (remember kids, in Finnish singular "egg" is also the penis, but plural eggs is also balls (we do not even now if started as "people have organs that looks like bird's eggs" or "these things in the bird's nest look like testicles"), but this does not apply to things like the first part of a compound word here) and refers to the often exaggerated possibility of great pain and testicular damage should a rider fall from the saddle of a traditional diamond frame bicycle – which probably was more common in the days of yore when many kids had to ride way too large, often adult-sized bicycles.

There's also the concept of kyrpäjyrä, "dick (road) roller" which is either the rather heavy Finnish army bicycle or the Saab 96. This my refer, at least in the case of the bike, into hardships of the penis during riding, but also it might be just alliteration, "kyrpäjyrä" just rolls off the tongue.

The 96, as peculiar looking car itself, has had variety of interesting nicknames like kajakkikaksikko ("tandem kayak", referring to the long and narrow shape), syöksysämpylä ("plunge/dive wheatbun", hard to translate, "dive" as in a dive bomber, referring again to the shape), viidakkorumpu ("jungle drum", referring to the sound of the 2-stroke engine used in the early models) or seksisukkula ("sex shuttle", ?????????).

2025 marks 80 years of Moomin stories. I found these Moomin comic books in a lower shelf in Librarie Flagey in Ixelles. The Moomins were created by Tove Jansson.
