So I was thinking about Uma, and realized something interesting—

Uma always includes her crew in her aspirations and efforts. She holds herself in a bit higher regard as captain, but they are always included

Right before What’s My Name, she pulls in Harry and Gil when dreaming of taking over Auradon:

“Son of Hook, Son of Gaston, and most of all, me, daughter of Ursula”

She includes all three of them in the statement—they share the glory

In the chorus of What’s My Name:

“No one’s gonna stop us, soon the world will be ours”

Again, she speaks with the collective “us” and “ours” including her crew in the glory

The spell she says during the trade off before It’s Going Down:

“By the power of the sea, tear it down and set us free!”

Us, not just me

Or skipping ahead to D3, when Mal reveals she lied about taking more kids off the isle

“So we saved your kingdom, and your behinds, all for a lie?”

We, again including Harry and Gil in the statement

I’m sure there’s more examples, but I can’t really pull them up right now. I think it’s a really interesting detail that adds to Uma always thinking of the collective Isle. Her crew isn’t a means to an end, they’re just as important to the goal as she is, and she makes sure they know that

fiyeraba is the couple of all time because while elphaba was most likely thinking a resigned and devastated internal monologue along the lines of "I never thought he would have thought I was wicked enough to be melted by water or hate me enough to send his men for it... but I should have known better to expect he wouldn't believe the rumors. Even him." you KNOW that behind those eyes fiyero is doing nothing but screaming internally and trying to tell her how fucking sorry he is with his mind

I wanted to talk about Elphaba leaving her hat behind. As you know in the stage show she takes the hat with her well Fiyero puts it on her head.

When I first saw this I was shocked that she didn’t take the hat because it played a huge role in her story it gave her confidence when she needed it most. To get out of her comfort zone and to stand up for what is right even when she was standing alone it gave her confidence and strength.

However that was always inside of her the hat just gave her the push she needed to do it. When she looks back it’s her saying thank you to the hat for giving her the push she needed. To find her happiness.

Leaving it behind doesn’t mean the hat didn’t work or mean anything to Elphaba it did but she has outgrown it and is now ready to movie on to something new.

I guess this turned out kinda okay-ish? lol

I think I was going for a Vinkun kind of fit for Yero and Fae.

Reading about the amount of detail and intention Paul Tazewell and the Wicked crew put into the outifts was just mind-blowing and most of it isn't highlighted enough.

I mean knowing her Kiamo Ko cape symbolically binds her to Fiyero makes me cry everytime! 😭💚💙

Also, "La Belle Dame sans Merci" by Sir Frank Dicksee is such a good template/drawing reference, just had to use it for Elphaba and Fiyero! haha
