I think Lidia spends every secret moment in every day dreaming about the better world she wants to help create, even if she doesn’t think she’ll ever get to live in it. I think she’s a bleeding heart optimist, and she puts so much energy into visualizing a better world, she can see it tattooed on the inside of her eyelids when she finally closes her eyes every night. I think she has to be an optimist and a dreamer, to get through every day, hurting people in order to keep up her cover. Submitting to being hurt and violated herself in order to keep up that cover. It has to all be worth it. She has to be doing more good than bad. Has to be that serious about her dream in order to maintain the energy necessary to keep her mask so flawless and terrifying. I think it’s the crux around which her entire character revolves.
