I’m back everyone!!!

Still running on 4hrs of sleep.

And zip ties.

I am a FIRST Alum of FRC team Mojo 8085.

Former Mechanical Lead, Impact Presenter, and Pit Boss.

I am the mind behind @pit-crew-chronicles and have passed the Mojo FRCblr mantle down to @mojo-mayhem

This will be a continued documentation of my time with FIRST as a volunteer and hopefully a mentor down the line.

Haven’t had a chance to do a lot of FIRST lately, but I’ve been queuing at the CT FTC Championships since 6:45am!

Sorry for the radio silence, a different final just metaphorically defenestrated me.

Looks like we have exactly 5 yes-es and someone said other members from their team may join.

@linguisticsnerd13 mentioned that they may help run it. I’m going to be slightly going insane today with a group project and my potential roommate backing out two days before the deadline, so if anyone wants to organize a start time/place and give me a numbered list of the exact amount playing, I should be able to get something set up either today or for tomorrow morning.

Okay, so looks like a lot of people want assassin again. My exam is in half an hour so depending on my sanity when I get out of it, I’ll try working this out.

If anyone is interested in running it IRL at Worlds, let me know. Otherwise I’ll probably organize it today and try to start it tomorrow. Please comment or reblog this post if you want to join in.

being an frc alum and friends with other alums means that 2 weeks out of the year you and your friends get activated like sleeper agents to say the weirdest sentences known to man then the second the competitions are over you never speak of them again

FRC Worlds/Assassin

I’m happy to say my team has indeed qualified for worlds!

Unfortunately due to a lack of mentor and student support as well as a lack of funding it appears we are unable to go this year. I’m very sorry to the people who were hoping to participate in the assassin game that I ran last year. If my team decides to go next year or the year after I, or someone else from my team, would be happy to run it again though. @first-alum-findings has mentioned running a virtual version of the game so definitely check her page for updates on that if you are interested. If there is anyone going to worlds this year who is interested running it themselves this year(and hopefully helping me run it next year)feel free to reach out to me and I would be happy to send you the rules and help you plan it. ( just make sure you tag me so I can see how it goes!!!)

I should (fingers crossed) be able to go to DCMP Saturday from around 2-4. I might be able to get there earlier, but I can’t leave any later.

Might have gotten a different ride? Idk, too soon to tell.

I have the transit route planned either way. It has a 95% chance of triggering asthma and a 90% chance of me failing to catch my train, but, BUTTTTTTT if I manage to catch everything I should get to NEDCMP by 2:30 latest.

I GOT INTO MY MINOR PROGRAM!!!! Wooooooooooooooooo!!!

Decided to wear my 2023 Championship hoodie.

I got stopped by 2 girls from a New York Robotics team (edit: I found them again and double checked, team 578) who went to Worlds last year.

Got assigned my first big engineering project as a college student: building a model Mars rover. There’s another FRC alum in my group. Proof FRC is it’s own language:

Me: Tank?

Other Alum: that could work well

Other member: Like make it look like a tank?

Us: Drivetrain.

Different member: With treads???

Us: Treads yes. Belts no.

Everyone else: 🤨
