Love these promo posters for The Sheep Detectives movie, sad to say the movie doesn't seem to have much of a presence in social media!
How it feels telling people I use tumblr in the big 26
“they killed bunny bc he was annoying” “they killed bunny bc he was sexist and homophobic” “they killed bunny-“ they killed bunny because he deadass wasn’t breaking his back to try and fit in with the others and their weird cultish aesthetic.
its like that scene in mean girls where regina sits down and karen + gretchen are like “you can’t sit with us because you’re wearing sweatpants, its monday” (or whatever day) “so thats against the rules and you can’t sit with us”
bunny was actually liked by the vast majority of people at hampden and the greek class didn’t like that, because it didn’t fit into their whole “aesthetic”.
bunny had a girlfriend that did an education degree and he was very public about it, and the greek class didn’t like that, because it didn’t fit into their whole “aesthetic”.
bunny ate a grilled cheese and milkshake, and the greek class didn’t like this. not because he was being greedy, but because it didn’t fit into their whole aesthetic.
why do you think richard got turned away when he first showed up to julian’s class? because he didn’t fit into the aesthetic.
i love the greek class as much as the next guy, but please. come on guys. lets just…open our eyes here.
oh to be immortal and be able to consume every piece of knowledge and literature ever
I have the most urgent need to be insufferably over-educated. Like i need to read literally every book ever written.
Enjoyed The Roses quite a bit despite seeing the trailer so many times this summer that I wanted to kms. Olivia Colman is just such a delight always and she and Cummerbund had really good chemistry. Did think it dragged a bit in the second half and unfortunately Kate McKinnon seems to have completely forgotten how to be funny.
Girl who’s re-cultivating hope in her future after a multiweek breakdown: I’m going to the bookstore to buy a book
blogging is great for me because i love archiving pointless things
the thing is i love living under a rock #myrock. people will ask you howwww can you not know about this?? it's because of my rock next question
Actually unwell about how the last two victims have spent their dying breaths on getting to a place that the trio will find them. Lester going straight for the bird camera rather than trying to escape on the street. "My friends are gonna catch you." Cinda. Spiteful, overconfident, asshole Cinda who hated their podcast spending her literal last gasp on getting her hand inside the gate so she can be a murder in the building. Because she knows they'll find who did this to her.
Two people who know they're about to die, doing everything they can in their last moments to get the attention of not the police but Olimabel (the Charles is silent) because the level of faith their allies have in this trio is unshakeable. I am climbing the walls
(Also that ending music was incredible I'm sad as fuck they killed Cinda but I'm so so excited with where this is going)
the fact that richard sees/wants us to see judy poovey as sort of dumb, while also seeing/wanting us to see julian morrow as some revolutionary mind when they're having the same damn thoughts is crazy to me
like near the end of the first chapter when we hear some about the class discussion, one of the points julian discusses (in simple terms lol) is how people who tend to bottle things up and stay composed all the time end up causing greater amounts of destruction when they "lose control" than people who allow themselves to lose control on occasion, but he does it with many words and references
and richard is like "wow this is awesome how sick is this guy"
then at the beginning of chapter two, judy poovey is telling richard about the time henry beat the fuck out of spike romney and she says something about how when uptight people lose it they REALLY lose it, but in terms just as simple as those
and richard just goes "yeah, i guess"
which there for sure is something to be said about the way people use words and the difference that use of language has on the way people feel about certain concepts, but you know
also: misogyny, clearly
The film version of the Thursday Murder Club had such good potential - and then they completely seemed to misunderstand the key notes they needed to hit, and the core themes and characterisations, to fully translate it from book to screen.
Of course certain things had to be cut for time - I’m unsurprised they had to remove some red herring plots, as good as they are, for the sake of streamlining it. But they completely changed major plot points and basically created a murder mystery that wasn’t the same, and also, had key plot holes throughout.
The changes to Bogdan were the most frustrating. Spoilers below:
WHAT HAVE THEY DONE TO MY BOY BOGDAN ,,,,,,
Oh another thing I am not a fan of the few little snide comments Elizabeth makes about Joyce (and they cut out Joyce CORRECTING Elizabeth's reading of the situation with Donna and the front desk copper)
