Recently, the artwork for my Rumpleteazer face mask was stolen and is now being sold on Amazon. Because I do not own the rights to CATS I can’t get the mask taken down.

One of my favourite things about the CATS fandom is, across the board from what I’ve seen, we’re all super like lowkey about this musical. Let me explain-

There are a lot of musicals where the fanbase will fight to the death about their show being the best. Like heaven help you if you criticise Hamilton in front of a Hamilton stan. Go into hiding if you say something vaguely against Dear Evan Hansen in front of a DEH’s stan. They will argue for days about how their show is the best, and that it has the best meaning and soul and the cast is the most incredible blah blah blah…

But CATS fans? Well-

Someone: Cats is a really weird musical. CATS stan: Lmao yeah

For a short while I tried to persuade two of my friends to care about Cats but it ended pretty much with:

Me to my friend: "I really love Cats and I think you could like it too! Maybe if you just watched the 1998 version... "

My friend who had seen a stage performance of Cats: "Nah, no thanks. I think there are better musicals than Cats."

Me: "Oh, bummer... Alright."

And then life moved on.

I'd rather have people indifferent about the musical than thinking it's "that annoying thing they kept pestering me about". Cats isn't everyone's cup of tea and that's alright, makes it feel even more special when I find people who enjoy it as much as I do.

I'm procrastinating and I genuinely want to know:

How do you shorten Munkustrap's name?

I've seen Munk and Munku mostly, and a wild Munkus every now and then.

I like Munk the most, but it also sounds a tad like a monk. Munku feels like it should continue somehow, an open ending... plus my inhead voice doesn't know how to pronounce that. Munkus sounds a bit like mucus and that's that. What works best? I don't know and I'm curious about what you think.

Other thought:

The name Munkustrap could form from Munku+strap or Munkus+trap or Munk+no+u+strap+u+dirty+beast, so I'm also not sure about that.
