“What was he like? Our father?” She hadn’t been able to stop thinking about this ever since Peter had come home and announced he’d found the man. The things she’d seen about Magneto on the news had been… awful. She didn’t understand it; surely a man who had created the pair of them could not be so bad? Maybe there was more to him, good reasons behind what he had done.

It was genuinely hard for him to talk about, well...any of it. He was still suffering from night terrors, from having his leg stomped and broken by an ancient mutant TITAN to seeing his own father using his own power to disrupt all of the metal and electricity across the entire planet. Peter--Pietro--had been horrified, and in a way ashamed of himself for it. So much so he couldn’t even bring himself to tell his own father that he knew.

“...He’s been hurt. A lot. The more I find out about him, the more it’s just...hard to blame him for it, you know? He even tried to do right, tried to live a quiet life, and that got taken away, too.” He frowned a little, glancing up at his twin. “He doesn’t even know about us. I mean...he might suspect something now, but...you should have seen the look on his face. It was like he thought he had nothing left to lose, like it was all gone and everything was just over...”

So if my silver-haired nerd dies in Dark Phoenix, I give up on the X-Men flicks. I keep giving them a second chance only because of Quicksilver being awesome.

He deserves better than to be killed off like he’s nothing. The Avengers movies did Pietro dirty, too.
