Okay, so I haven't posted in a hot minute and I feel like this might be a super niche thing to come back with. Not necessarily niche as in there's no community for this, but I am not sure how much of that community is on Tumblr. I imagine a decent amount of it is on TikTok, and I don't know how recent any posts have been made via Tumblr for this community, but I thought I'd take a stab in the dark.
If you are somebody who is a fan of the Hell's Belles skit series on TikTok by Jaysea Lynn, or her writing. I don't know if she still has a Patreon, but I know at some point she did (I think) and she used to share some of her stuff on there, I believe. I could be wrong though. And she does have her first novel out, which is really, really good, and I know The Belles of Wrath, her second book, is supposed to be coming out next year, which are also within the Hell's Belles universe, but they're more of kind of like a pre-cursor kinda thing.
Anyway, if you're into that shit—which I am, I'm currently in a state of rewatching some of the series while we wait for things to hopefully come back, and considering potentially rereading the novel as well, just because I know that the second book is coming out next year. So it had me thinking, because if you've been to my account before, you understand that I'm a playlist girly, and I was just thinking on, if you are a part of this, I guess community, and enjoy Jaysea’s work as much as I do, what do you think about for playlists? If you were to like set playlists and music in that universe, what do you think they'd be?
Like, there's the sort of generalized playlist in which we could have a bunch of songs for a bunch of the different characters, or there could be playlists for each character. Either way, what songs do you think could work? I know that at one point Lily had a ringtone that was, I can't remember what song, but I know it was the band Disturbed. So we know Lily likes Disturbed. I know she had that ‘we're taking the hobbits to Isengard’ remix song thing, but that was also, like, very strictly, like, her nerding out because it's the Lord of the Rings. For the record, when I'm asking for these songs, I'm okay with some of them being soundtrack songs or sort of vibes, ambiance, things like that. But like, I'm thinking of mostly, like, general songs. I'm talking like bands, solos, stuff like that. Like, it's okay to definitely put as a suggestion if it's like... A song that's on a soundtrack for something, but it's not what you would typically think of as a soundtrack song. Like, random example, Twilight. Like, there was Supermassive Black Hole by Muse, and there was Leave Out All the Rest by Linkin Park, and Eyes on Fire by Blue Foundation. I could be saying that band name wrong. But, like that, where it's like, it's a song by a band that you could 100% hear like outside of it being in a movie. Like somebody could find that and it has nothing to do with it. Like they wouldn't have had to watch the movie or, you know, play the video game or whatnot. It's not the type of soundtrack music that's definitely like always in the background while you're doing something. It could be a song that plays in the credits, like in the Mortal Instruments movie, 17 Crimes by AFI plays in the credits. So like stuff like that, that's fine. What i’m looking for is what you think the different characters would like or what just fits the general vibe, maybe of the hellp desk that are just like, for lack of a better word, “normal songs.” Because I don't know, I'm just, I'm just thinking about it. And I'm not sure if Jaysea shared any of the music she's liked or anything in particular, you know, she thinks of her characters listening to. Um, so, yeah, I'm just taking a stab in the dark to see if anybody else has ideas 🖤
