Hello! This is flame welcome to my side blog focused on mainly greek mythology

To not beat around the Bush here are few things you need to know about this blog and that is that it is alot more suggestive than my main, greek myths and many of the statues, paintings and alot more visual showcases of greek myths include nudity and/or sexual undertone or plain text

And since some of these May cause people discomfort Here are the tags I'll use under posts including those things, there pretty standard

Cw Nudity - any Type of nudity in visual manner, I will not be tagging that under texts that describe characters as nude unless text Goes deeper into description of nudity (you will probably see me use it alot thanks to aphrodite)

Tw suggestive - showcase either visual or in text of more sexual manner and/or sexual actions

Tw body horror - my designs of gods get alot more messed up as they mourn or grieve, for example Aphrodite's limbs may fall off and she becomes alot less controling of herself Or Apollo's skin might rip in some places and raven wings or bike's emerge from them, overall beasic body horror

Tw Mourning/grieving - alot of greek myths have death in them, I've noticed often people don't showcase gods mourning their lovers or humans in general, I will definitley do though, alot of people told me my descriptions of it are pretty harsh and upseting it is the point but I do not want to strike a nerve of anyone not ready or simply not wishing to see that content

There will be definitley more tw's and cw's under my posts about the myths but those 4 are gonna get used the most, If I'll ever forget to put a tw/cw under a post please tell me

You know what? I’m just gonna fuckin’ say it. We need to romanticize the relationship between Ares and Aphrodite more.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know we all like to characterize them as the mean jock and dumb bitchy prep cheerleader who cheats on her wonderful and kind if conventionally unattractive husband because he’s not jacked or whatever, but how about we move past that Middle School level interpretation of things and look at it from another perspective.

Let’s look at it this way. Hephaestus shows up one day, kidnaps the queen of the Gods, his mother, and demands Aphrodite as his wife for the shitty life he’s had thus far. He doesn’t love Aphrodite. Not really. She’s a consolation prize. A pretty little bauble he can have around his workshop and occasionally have sex with.

Aphrodite isn’t some shallow and vapid bitch who cheats on her loving husband. She’s a powerful woman, a fucking child of Ouranos himself, and she’s the Goddess of LOVE, forced into a loveless marriage with someone who only sees her as a possession. She cheats on him with Ares because Ares isn’t the strong and charming yet deeply flawed man who really does love her.

Hephaestus has the gall to demand Aphrodite be loyal to him? MY man, you essentially press-ganged the Goddess of Love into a loveless marriage. HOW DID YOU THINK IT WAS GOING TO GO?!

I feel for Hephaestus, I really do. He got dealt a shit hand and he’s absolutely a sympathetic character, but I think it’s time we stopped hating on the Goddess of Love for being with the person she loves, rather than the man who forced her into a truly miserable and doomed union.

I think one thing people don't understand about Zeus is that he /intends/ to have that many children, they're not an "oopsie" for his affairs. You don't see him having sex in the stories with random mortals, it's always princesses or goddesses/nymphs, because their children will have fame and renown.

His aim seems to be creating gods for the new world order and kings/heroes for mankind. An example is the birth of Hermes, in his hymn it is said that "the son of Cronos used to lie with the rich-tressed nymph (Maia)… And when the purpose of great Zeus was fulfilled, she bare a son, of many shift (…)". In other words, his intention was always to beget him, because Hermes was going to be an important and necessary god in the pantheon.

Zeus knows destiny, his plans are behind many important events in mythology. I get the feeling that he is very calculating, and nowadays he is often simplified to just being "horny".

Got new brushes, so I have been experimenting with art styles through the best way I know how; drawing beautiful women being hot.

For those who do not know, I did a silly way when making my version of Aphrodite by making her very poised and elegant, but when she sees a food, she becomes a shark and absolutely tears into it, especially fish, and becomes a mess but doesn't care about it, all because of her origins from the sea. I saw this text post and immediately thought of her.

I thought id draw her waiting for ares in one of her rooms, fun fact youre able to tell if shes excited/overjoyed by her hair it turns white and foramy then

also you can tell if the POV of an art piece is from Aries abt to spend some private time with her by the lack of her crown on her head she takes it off when its just the two of them sometimes

Since it's been months, I am now forcing myself to be a brave little boy to post my process on my version of Ares, along with some art of Aphrodite. And sorry if the post is tagged weirdly, I still am unsure how to properly tag posts. I post every blue moon, so I don't think I still have an understanding of it.

These are my most recent and decent art of him, and I got a few notes on his design.

● His first scar is the one on his cheek, but it wasn't from any war or battle. When he was younger, he was exactly what one would imagine Ares to be, very arrogant and proud, with fighting on his mind despite having never been to any battles. He would play a game where he and someone would spar, and whoever gets the biggest scar wins. Hermes lost, only because he was so good at it.

● The tattoos he has are from Thrace, where he is said to have been born and was his favorite place. The symbol on the back of his hand is a snake, relating to them being one of his sacred animals.

And here is some art of him I made a few months ago, based on some paintings I've found of him. My favorite genre of Ares art is when he is dorned with flowers, the Erotes are playing with his weapons, and he is very happy with Aphrodite. It makes me very delighted.

Speaking of Aphrodite, this is what she looks like. I got a few notes on her personality and design.

● Since she is Aphrodite, she is very vain, focusing on her physical appearance a lot and becoming emotional whenever someone undermines or doubts her beauty, with the ability to become wrathful.

● But, as a mother, she is able to self-love aside for her children, putting her entire attention to them. Before she gets with Ares, she has already had a handful of children with previous lovers. Ares doesn't mind, of course.

● Her design is, of course, based on her origins from the sea and her being a sea goddess.

● She emerged from seafoam but was then taken in by Dione.

● Despite valuing her appearance and the way she presents herself and encouraging others to do the same, she does have one little quirk she inherited from her years living in the ocean. She eats like a beast, especially when it comes to seafood. When it is in her sight, she is devouring it like a wildwoman. This is just being very silly and having fun. Don't worry about it.

● Her little, uh, braid thing (I guess, I don't know what you'd call it exactly, I'm not good with hair) is divided into 7 sections, for the 7 types of Greek love. I'm gonna be transparent here. This is me trying to sound clever and creative when I'm not.

● When she is upset, whether sad or angry, her body starts resorting back to water and seafoam. I still can't find out how to draw it, unfortunately, even though the visuals look cool in my mind.

I am gonna try to post more frequently, especially the designs I've come up for the other gods. So far, this is all I could bring my energy to post.

I thought about what to make of aphrodites room since I didn't want it to be a bit too generic depiction of olympus you know all white and with clouds everywhere and nothing really personalized for a deity so it'll be easier to draw, really tried avoiding that

I definitley wanted aphrodites room to be very dim and with red lights afterall that lighting get's associated with sex alot[or danger, both go well with her] especialy when candles are in use, since aphrodite came out of the ocean and in my version shes practicly made out of water I decided to make her entire room a pool of some sorts, her temple of course isn't soaked, knees high full of water, it's just her room since thats where she goes to rest, it's her private area so it's dedicated to making her comfortable and barely anything else

she lived her whole existance till this point in the sea so her rooms full of water because well it's what she knows the most and she has good memories with it, for her getting in water is kinda like eating a childhood meal for us if that makes any sense

ALSO as some of you may remember my aphrodite falls apart when she gets upset, so if she falls apart there she'll just become a part of the water and won't have to "look for her parts" persay after getting better

her room is beasicly a pool with an outline close to walls where the candles sit and lighted the place up a bit
