The Starsky and Hutch SHareCon Countdown Calendar is still accepting submissions.
The SHareCon Countdown Calendar is still looking forward to getting your submissions! If you need details on what kind of gifts you can submit, you can check out the SHareCon home page (www.sharecon.net). Our deadline is August 1st, but if you think you might need more time, drop us a note at [email protected] and we'll be happy to discuss it.
The SHareCon Countdown Calendar is our replacement for the SHareCon zine, and gives us a snapshot of our fandom today. We'd love for you to be a part of that.
Many thanks to those of you who've already submitted!
And the SHareCon Premiere Vid show is still accepting vids. That deadline is August 15th.
Starsky and Hutch SHareCon 2026: Let's talk panel topics!
Let's talk panel topics!
What's the hardest part of SHareCon programming?
It's not the games; they're already planned. It's not the play; it's ready to go. (Applause, please, for our hard-working CONspirators!) It's not the vids, either. While we always look forward to brand new premieres from our amazing vidders, we also have hundreds of tried-and-true older vids we can use to create wonderful vid shows.
No, the hardest part of SHareCon programming is finding fresh panel topics. Let's face it. We've been talking about these guys and this show for 50 years now. Haven't we said it all?
We refuse to believe that. In spite of our lengthy lists of panel topics, we always manage to add new topics every year. That's why we use a poll to determine which topics are your favorites.
Are you a new fan who has questions you need answered? A veteran fan who has that one topic that never gets discussed? Now's the time to bring your idea forward! We want it!
You can suggest your topic here, or if you're shy and would rather keep it private, send to [email protected]. Your idea might be just the spark that keeps our programming fun and interesting! And makes picking panel topics a little easier.
The more Leverage I watch, the more I feel like it’s fanfiction of some alternate Leverage show. Like someone was like, “I love this show and these characters so much, and I need a college AU and a music star AU and an Office crossover and I want them to solve a mystery at a murder mystery party on a spooky island and and and…” I love it so.
Photos of Trans Women Depicted as Saints and Religious Icons [x]
October 25, 2017
With Virgenes de la Puerta (“Virgins of the Door” in Spanish), Juan Jose Barboza-Gubo looks to honor the lives of Lima’s transgender community. The photographic series, created in collaboration with Mroczek, reimagines trans women from his birthplace—including activists from the Peruvian trans rights organization Feminas—as saints, cultural icons, and religious figures from 19th century portraiture.

“Virgenes de la Puerta is showing as part of Canon at the Museum of Sex in New York until January 15, 2018. Part of Canon is also on display at the Lugar de la Memoria (LUM) museum in Peru, which is providing support for Peru’s first art memorial to remember LGBTQ victims of hate crime.
The Starsky and Hutch SHareCon Countdown Calendar is up!
Need inspiration to create something new for the 2026 SHareCon Countdown Calendar? Well, here it is: this year's home page! Since 2026 SHareCon is a virtual experience, Starsky wants to be sure he and Hutch won't miss a thing. Hutch has his own thoughts! See it here:
The calendar has 10 numbered "doors". It's unique because it counts BACKWARDS. So, the first day is Day 10 and the last day is Day 1. Click on the doors. You might find some surprises!
Many many thanks to Suzan, our Artist with Flair, for creating the art, banners, and tiles, and to Cyanne, our WebMistress Extraordinaire, for setting up the home page and all the calendar pages and making it work!
But we can't have a countdown calendar unless we have gifts. So, send your creations to [email protected] so they can be part of the fun. Special thanks to our Countdown Calendar wranglers, Daisy Morgan and Babs, who will give your gifts the special attention they deserve.

There are currently THREE FEDERAL BOOK BAN BILLS aiming to ban all TRANS BOOKS from U.S. public schools! HR 2616, HR 8705, HR 7661
June 2026 / Maia Kobabe (a trans author, for three years in a row the most challenged author in the U.S.)
Page 2:
HR 2616 threatens to cut federal funding from public schools if they “teach or advance concepts related to gender ideology,” as defined by an Executive Order signed by Trump in Jan 2025. It would also cut funding from schools unless they require “parental consent before changing a minor's gender markers, pronouns, or preferred name on any school form.” HR 2616 HAS ALREADY PASSED IN THE HOUSE! Please call your Senators to say NO ON HR 2616!
Page 3:
HR 8705 threatens to cut federal funding from public schools which teach “discriminatory equity ideology or gender ideology,” as defined by two Executive Orders aimed at suppressing “critical race theory” and trans representation. This bill is named after the late far-right activist Charlie Kirk, “The Charlie Act.” HR 8705 has passed out of committee, but has not yet been introduced in the House. Please call your House Reps to say NO ON HR 8705!
Page 4:
HR 7661 threatens to cut federal funding from public schools which offer material deemed “sexually oriented," treating any LGBTQIA+ identity as sexual content. It specifically forbids “gender dysphoria or transgenderism,” and “lascivious dancing” (drag). This bill, titled “Stop the Sexualization of Children Act,” has 22 co-sponsors and has passed out of committee but has not yet been introduced to the House. Please call your House Reps to say NO ON HR 7661!

I oppose HR 2616 because it would restrict student’s access to books and it would specifically harm trans, nonbinary, and intersex students. Please stand against book bans and protect queer students!”
“My name is [name] and I’m calling from [city, state, zip code]. I’m asking [Rep] to vote no on HR 8705 and HR 7661. I oppose these bills because they would restrict student’s access to books and accurate history, and would especially harm BIPOC, trans, nonbinary, and intersex students. Please stand against book bans and support public education funding!”

Author Maia Kobabe: If HR 2616, HR 8705, or HR 7661 pass, it would be almost impossible for any public school in the U.S. to offer or teach my books, unless they’re willing to risk their federal funding. Students would be even less likely to learn about trans stories or accurate U.S. history.

On this day in lower Manhattan, 1969, the Stonewall Uprising began.
I've been reading through this book this month. Duberman follows the lives of six individuals and their struggles with family and the American Society as a whole just to survive. All were abused and neglected as children. It's been hard to read through it.
I didn't know all this and feel ashamed I didn't know. I had been lied to and gaslit about lgbtq+ people my entire life. Turns out I'm one too. Their voices need to be heard.
They suffered so much simply because they loved someone they weren't supposed to and lived in a way that worked for themselves.
"My intention was to embrace precisely what most contemporary historians have discarded: the ancient, essential enterprise of telling human stories." - Martin Duberman, Preface, Stonewall (1993)
Those men woukd not be billionaires (much less one trillionaie) if we'd simply continued taxing the uber rich how we USED TO. 90% over 2 million a year. (Up that to 5 million now)
Wealth just snowballs without high taxes. Wealth = political power especially in the USA.
“I’ve certainly stopped by the Reflecting Pool from time to time. I even lived in the nation’s capital for five years. It always seemed more or less fine: water, reflecting, no evident swampiness. I started googling at first and Google AI told me how this has really been a big deal for ages and no one had been able to fix the problems. But when I looked at the articles they were getting this from it was all stuff from the last month, with sections that were longer versions of the snippet I just showed you.”

Trump’s New Leak in the Back Reflecting Pool Legend
This is one of the truly insidious, deadly, and dangerous aspects of AI use in search results, and it’s entirely by design.
The oligarchs and tech fascists want to manipulate reality (or at least the public perception of reality) by substituting their ideological lies and false bullshit for actual facts. They tell the AI to ignore sources they don’t like, and to privilege those that they do, and this is what we get.
It’s *vital* that we teach kids (and reeducate adults, if necessary) to never use AI for this sort of information gathering. It’s so dangerous to let this happen without any pushback.
