sunbeam my beloved!!!!!!!!!! you were!!!!!! done so dirty!!!!!!!!!!!

i love sunbeam when she gets to be a character instead of Girlfriend and Love Interest. pretty excited to see her maybe get to stick around in the newest arc a little bit.

stinky man. nightheart is kind of my punching bag since he unfortunately embodies a lot of warrior cat tropes/trends that i Dislike. i have a lot of thoughts about his,,, Everything. that's not to say i don't understand liking him - there's a lot of elements or things you can read into that make him interesting

i felt a bit bad and gave him some little eyeliner markings and fun bangs as compensation.

had the idea to doodle the series protags in my ever increasing battle cat design craze so we're working backwards with these!! i'll end off with changing skies at the end assuming i make it lol.

might add a couple short ramblings here about each character!!! i ended up liking frostpaw's story a looot more than i thought i would. the rare relatively consistent and solid character arc from warriors

made it to the end with a starless clan!!! this is a mixed arc for me - there's a lot of characters i enjoy and the riverclan plot is mostly pretty fun. but there's a lot of my recurring issues with warriors that i'm even more frustrated by since there's potential lol.

curlfeather was certainly the best villain this arc, but berryheart genuinely might be one of my favorite antagonists because i think she is really funny. she's here for drama and to be obnoxious and i wish there was more of that. and also just that her and sunbeam had a proper conclusion (i felt like her death was such a letdown)

the elder's (not) quest was eh for me, but sunbeam is there and i love sunbeam. hoping to see more of her being a character.

for better or worse, i will certainly be drawing more a starless clan stuff (i'm also decently happy with some of these designs so i'd like to do more with 'em)

combined a vision of shadows and the broken code! uhhh if you can't tell, i didn't really have as many big standouts here ._.

ramblings:

book 1 avos alder is wonderful, i wish he kept having a character after that. i'm a sparkpelt enjoyer (despite her wasted character) and i REALLY like squilf's hope/a starless clan sparkpelt. i also love needletail - she's pretty great. shadowsight is a fun guy and i mostly just enjoyed avos & squilf's hope leafstar. it's been a while since i've read these arcs in particular (i honestly dont remember anything after the first three in either of these), sooo my thoughts are very much skewed by my poor memory. i would also probably throw darktail on here, because i am a big darktail enjoyer but my hand hurts. he shall be drawn another day

also. shadowsight is purple and his eyes are red. thank you for coming to my ted talk

a starless clan next! i both have a much more recent memory of this series and i had a lot stronger feelings about it than avos or tbc (good and bad feelings lol)

dawn of the clans gang!! i have!! mixed feelings!! (also not completely happy with star flower and thunder's designs - might come back to them)

dotc is among some of my favorite arcs, just because a lot of fun political drama and war and stuff happens, which is cool. and there are a lot of interesting character Concepts (with debatable execution) (cough, cough grey wing. i want to like him but,,)

and also star flower. who i think is absolutely hilarious. listening to the audiobooks (which is a first for me for this series), and her introduction scene with thunder. why does she talk like that, what does she mean. i love her. also the voice macleod andrews does for bumble is so fun.

anyways, i could talk for hours about the many,,, issues,, i have with dotc, but canon for me is turtle tail and bumble get to kill tom and go off and be happy lesbians together the end.

here's power of three/omen of the stars! combined them since they kinda bleed over into each other

im a tigerheart enjoyer, but specifically the 'cringe dad who makes selfish decisions as a leader for his family' brand that broken code/a starless clan gave us. most of these guys i enjoy just because of my own personal headcanons lol (as is the big reason i still enjoy warriors, its just a fun sandbox here). not crazy about how i drew briarlight/jayfeather here, but i'm trying not to spend terribly long since these are just for fun

also!! ice, toad, hazel, poppy, and mousewhisker are part of my 'i blame sunnyfall for these now being some big favorites of mine'. go read paws of stars by @sunnyfall-rc, this is what got me thinking about warriors again: https://archiveofourown.org/series/1851976

last note: mousefur, dovewing, and briarlight should be allowed to gossip i think. jayfeather is the number one bad boyfriend red flag detector

pitapeeps on twitter had the best idea for daisy to have flowers in her fur that were gifts from kits, so i couldn't resist throwing that here!! ended up including references to her kits in the flowers, because i'm a sucker for on the nose design symbolism

spreading my 'squilf has freckles' agenda further. i usually draw ashfur in his po3 arc, but since i'm grouping him with the new prophecy squad, i decided to draw him with his more chill demeanor that he had in this arc

been doing some battle cat warm ups to get back into the swing of things. first round are my favorites from the prequel books (you may or may not be able to guess my two favorite books,,)

i liked this one well enough! i thought the frostpaw (gets a great name btw) and splashtail stuff was good. berryheart was so wasted (she's so entertaining to me, i wish she'd been allowed to do more), and nightheart and sunbeam as a couple aggravate me to no end. the one spoilery thing i'll say is that sunbeam gets to join the ranks of female main characters who will be shelved as Mom and Love Interest. i love bending my female characters to the whims of their male love interest it is just my Favorite Thing.

anyways, this was a pretty messy and objectively mid book, but enough interesting stuff was happening for me to mostly enjoy it. im not exactly keeping up with these expecting Good literature lol

saw a warriors template on twitter from @/detectiverj and did a few quick doodles of favorite A Starless Clan characters!!! i love the new curlfeather design from the chapter previews oh my goodness

found this template and figured i'd give it a go! tried to stick to characters i like/have positive feelings about. i enjoy doing speed design challenges like this, it's always a fun character design exercise.

i also picked a couple characters that don't match their letter since there straight up wasn't anyone with that letter

for the recent gray cat trend on twitter - the challenge is to draw cinderpelt, ashfur, bluestar, and crowfeather to differentiate between all the blue eyed gray cats out here! i had fun pushing my shapes here. especially since i haven't really made a crowfeather or bluestar design before. hopefully you guys know who's who!!

promise this account isn't abandoned - i'll definitely be practicing with designs and posting them here. it's kinda just a thing by motivation

not a canon design, but i ended up designing my own sona! i've never really had a warriors sona - i've had a toooooon of oc's but never really just a guy to use as myself
