Whenever I think so niche for listening to songs and thinking of certain redacted characters I always manage to find people who think the same exact things, and also doin time by Lana del Rey is also very Alexis
i feel like people romanticise the idea of a vampire spending it's last day enjoying the sun for the final time
i've seen a few posts saying that Sam would want to spend his final day watching the sun rise as he died
my response to that is, no? he'd go out burning, it would be very painful, a very painful death actually. that is not romantic, he would burn alive, i don't think Sam would want to burn to death.
Something I donāt think that people really bring up or mention is how genuinely scary it would be to live in the redacted universe. I know vampires have been romanticized but the fact that if they decide to do something to you thereās just about nothing you can do about it. Not only can they trance you but even if they donāt, you canāt hide because they can hear you AND smell you, you canāt run because they can run faster than you can blink, and you canāt overpower them because youād be dead before you even get the thought to TRY and fight back. On top of all of that you literally cannot kill them if you tried, even if you had the strength you wouldnāt have the speed, and even if you had the speed you wouldnāt have the strength.
Shifters are a whole other thing, imagine youāre running from someone and the next thing you know youāre getting your head ripped off by a wild animal, and even if the shifter isnāt like a predator animal if theyāre a bird or something they can just stalk you wherever you go and wouldnāt have a clue.
Demons and Daemons? Legit donāt get me started because no matter what you think of youāre dead, if they can kill vampires, shifters, elementals, etc thereās no way an unempowered human would stand a chance.
Elementals? An air elemental can legit suck the air out of your lungs. An earth elemental can literally make an earthquake in your house. A fire elemental can turn you into burnt toast, and the list goes on

I have a really strong allergy to the sun in my eyes and when I go out without my glasses that help with the allergies, occasionally on cloudy days it hurts more than on sunny days so I have a pretty good idea of what I think would happen, and it basically has to do with how high the UV index is, like I think itās possible they get equally as burnt on a sunny day as on a cloudy day, but if itās low and cloudy I think thereās a possibility that they could go out maybe for a bit

Maybe Iām just delusional but I feel as though a lot of the names of the characters in the redacted universe either mean exactly what the name means, I could be reaching, but these are just some that I found
David: Beloved, I feel as though this one makes sense because heās a pack leader, but not just among his friends and pack mates, but with other people, heās a very well respected member in Daliah
Asher: Happy, in my head Asher is quite literally a ray of sunshine, when he met Babe he comforted them, he knows how to lift peopleās spirits, and I mean most people think of him a very happy-go-lucky guy which he is, but genuinely he is very emotionally intelligent and knows how to make people happy.
Milo: Soldier, this one also makes a lot of sense, Iām not sure if everyone will agree with me, but I mean the way he met sweetheart is that he agreed to help them in their mission, he sacrificed a lot in the inversion, and in both AUs he was the first to volunteer to help, like in the Fool!verse he helped sweetheart, in the imperium universe he disobeyed Asher so he could be the one getting hurt instead of Asher.
Vincent: To conquer, itās a name that basically means resilience, and I mean his life hasnāt really been sunshine and rainbows, like ever since his turning his life was basically downhill and when he met Lovely it became better, but literally the next year he had to turn his partner and obviously thatās a very hard thing and not even mentioning how traumatic the whole process was, and then when life started getting good again his whole life was turned upside down after the summit and he kind of had to reevaluate his entire life. Not to mention itās a French name and I mean his maker is French and not that it has anything to do with that, but I thought it was a cool add on.
Rating how emotionally intelligent I think Redacted characters are:
David: 87/100, heās not like a therapist or anything, but I think over the years heās become a lot more emotionally intelligent, I think meeting Angel and working through some of his issues, but also his experience as alpha has really made him a lot more emotionally intelligent, he has matured so incredibly much, but then again heās not that open emotionally.
Asher: 94.75/100, the reason I think this is because of how well he can read people and their emotions and help accordingly, like he doesnāt treat people with equality, but with equity, like he kinda changes his love language or his way of comforting people based on what he knows theyāll respond to and what they feel comfortable with, heās always had this ability, but I feel as though over the years itās gotten even better
Milo: 90/100, I also think he scores somewhat high on the EI scale, in the canon universe you can see that very well on how he treats people and how he expresses his emotions, especially how he expresses his emotions. Even in the FoolVerse! AU if you just listen to his audio itās even obvious there how high his EI based off how he comforted Sweetheart, but what drove it home for how I was gonna rate him is how well I think he expresses his emotions.
Vincent: 84/100, this was a bit of a tricky one seeing as I donāt really rewatch his audios a lot, but you can so clearly see the difference between how he is now and how he was, it is genuinely like night and day, he has matured so much, he knows how to deal with situations a lot better, but the problem is that he isnāt really the best at sudden situations, like how he reacted in the summit kinda proves it, not to say how he felt wasnāt justified because it was, but heās still not the best at split second decisions and situations.
Porter: 68/100, heās clearly very smart, it seems as though he has a very high IQ but when it comes to EI heās where it gets a bit iffy, I think maybe as his character progresses heāll become a lot more emotionally intelligent, but as of now itās clear itās just not his strong suit, in any capacity.
Sam: 93/100, I was somewhat conflicted on how to rate him, obviously since his first ever appearances he has changed quite significantly, but it doesnāt mean there isnāt room for improvement, he clearly has a way with words and that is impressive there are still some things I think he can work on, but overall he is one of the most emotionally intelligent, in the way he treats others and how heās like in different situations.
Gavin: 90/100, he can draw a line very well, like he knows when he can poke fun at people and when to draw the line in the preverbal sand, although Iām not 100% sure on how to place him since Iām not really confident in how much I know about how he expresses his emotions, I mean like most all characters Iāve named he has matured like so so so much, like genuinely he seems like a totally different person while still staying true to his personality.
Lasko: 100/100, need I say more? I mean cmon like what else was I supposed to give him, and like Iām not just saying this because I particularly like him, but this is like actually canon, and like like as a person, partner, friend, he just meets the criteria for 100.
