Looks like the HBO Harry Potter version is gonna get downplay of the child abuse and bullying that Harry suffered through. They even have him wearing fitted clothes, when he was always wearing Dudley’s gigantic hand me downs and literally living in a cupboard under the stairs while being withheld food and bullied on the daily.

I hate that they didn’t do the time jump in the book because so much of this season you really need to suspend your disbelief because in the books ofc Sophie is white and blonde BUT years have passed since then in the OG story. And ofc it was also unheard of for a MAID to be apart of any of the balls as an actual attendee and not “the help”, so they kept that, but the lack of the true time jump and the fact that she’s Asian just makes Benedict look stupid at first lol
Even in the context of the show, without the time jump, you really have to see the Bridgerton world as “race doesn’t matter” in this scenario even though they actually did allude that race DID matter for certain characters

Love at first sight. Sophie being a VERY persistent matchmaker. Insight into Sophie and Benedict’s married life. Mama Bridgerton basically acting as Posey’s adoptive mother. More of a backstory of all the characters and her and Sophie and Araminta’s history.

Ok: While we can all agree that Philip is on paper a horrible person to Eloise, I feel like there is nuance to be had because unfortunately it is in the context of regency times where our modern ideas of consent of married couples didn’t really apply to a regency marriage at that time
There was absolutely NO modern nuance of “enthusiastic consent” during that time and postpartum depression just wasn’t talked about or even recognized
