Usually her hugs made his hair stand on end.
Usually his pulse would start to RACE, his hands would sweat,
and he’d turn into putty in her arms. But–everything still
HURT. There were still a few icicles hanging off of his heart,
breaking off to float through his veins in an increasingly
uncomfortable amount of SHIVERS. Yet he didn’t let go. He
didn’t try to wriggle out of her arms, didn’t make up an excuse
NOT to touch her. He let her lean against him, and wrapped his
arms, much smaller than hers, around her shoulders.
His heart might have been BROKEN, but his
love for her wasn’t. That was something that would NEVER
break. Not as long as he LIVED. As he felt her relax in his arms,
the familiar sensation of warmth came rushing through his
body again, and the elf let out a CONTENT sigh.
“I’m glad you’re here, too. I–I mean, I’m glad
you came to ME about this. Because I am here, and I’m ALWAYS
going to be here–for you, Dawn. I’ll always be here.”
As his own arms wrapped around her she could FEEL the
familiar warmth and immediate CALMING EFFECT it had
on her. This was one of the reasons of why she went to HIM;
he just had this ability to SOOTHE her no matter what was
going on.
She couldn’t help but to SMILE at his words, granted it was
a very small smile and one still filled with fear and confusion,
but it was still a smile. Sunny was going to be there with her
through this... Through ALL of it... Just knowing that took some
of the weight off her shoulders and she let out a long sigh.
“ Thank you SO MUCH, Sunny... I-I don’t know what I would
do WITHOUT you-- You... You’re the only person I want
to go through this with, the only person I can trust with all
of this... I-- ...THANK YOU, Sunny, just thank you. ”
