If I had gotten a tattoo when I was seven....

Second project for the Find your Style course.

I had to come up with a tattoo I would have been down to have as a 6 or 7 year old, that was based around life experiences. I loved playing tag, like in a big way. I went to school because it meant on lunch, it was tag time. And it was one of the only reasons I actually went to school willingly.

Going through the first part of this course was pretty big for me. It showed me the things that made the greatest impact on me as a person and as an artist. Not surprisingly cinema played a big part of that, the characters I saw on screen impacted what I thought was cool, and the kind of art I liked to create.

It showed me the pattern over years of growth as an artist how I went from generating sad very dark work to trying to generate healing through art by creating art that was fun, whimsical and care-free.

Procreate has lent to my style in a big way taking things from a sketch to a final digital piece that still emulates the nature of pastel on paper, or ink on card stock. It's imperfect yet lovely. Just like me.

I'm currently taking the @andyjpizza @skillshare class Find Your Style. The first exercise, discovering my creative DNA was kind of wild. Looking not only at my influences but also at the four major movements of my development as an artist made me....pretty happy. It's been a wild ride, it's had ups and a lot of downs, but I've grown through them all, and now I've done the research to prove it.

This is one of three projects for the second exercise. This prompt was Self Portrait / Guilty Pleasure, which is, of course anything Wes Anderson.
