âFuckâ was the first thing Wylan thought when he realised what day it was. Today wouldâve been fine, great even since his father would be gone for the entire day but no. Today was his first day of school, public school. Now this was great in its own way. No more tutors, no more seeing his shitty father or his âstepmumâ since she was closer in age with him than his father and no longer would he be stuck in this house. But the issue was that it meant new routine, new people, loud noises and new food that could be similar to dog food. He hated change, yes he was 14 and he was meant to get used to change since he is ânearly an adultâ, doesnât mean that he will ever get used to it. Luckily, the night before, he was able to see what this school would actual look like inside and out. It looked⊠average but absolutely massive, at least he thinks so. He canât really know whether it was or wasnât normal but at least he has an idea of what it looks like. He gets changed into the uniform, which is strangely comfortable, except for the top button of his shirt, he can undo it when he gets in the car and maybe loosen the tie. Although heâs worried that he would look weird so he thinks heâll leave it for now at least. He checks the time, 7:30 am. âRight, I need to check all my stuff is in my bag, get breakfast whilst avoiding Alys and Jan then get into the car. Get there in 15 minutes, get timetable and find my class without looking too clueless, easy, totally,â he thinks itâll be fine, that everything will go according to plan, right, wrong. He checks his bag then runs downstairs and double checks that nobody is in the kitchen. He attempts to as quite as possible to get an orange and eat it quick enough to not have to talk to anyone and get to the car, but as he finishes and leaves, he bumps into Alys.
