Faberry, Klaine and Finchel fans are better than Brittana fans. You know why?
They donât jump ship and abandon it for another the moment they see a new shiny thing. Some Brittana fans are okay with Brittany/Sam and this will be the end of Brittana, just like the writers want. The âBrittana is endgameâ mantra doesnât mean anything, especially because Sam is a regular and theyâre trying to make him and Brittany the new IT couple of the Lima side.
The fact that Brittany suddenly regained her voice when the writers decided to pair her up with Sam (but she was noticeably mute during her relationship with Santana), the fact that we know that Brittany/Sam, heterosexual white couple, will get a romantic duet the moment theyâll get together, are some of the worst examples of biphobia/homophobia in Glee. The disparity in treating the homosexual couple vs the heterosexual couple is so blatant it looks like a joke.
Itâs fine for Brittany to have a voice, a point of view, several private scenes, a really romantic duet, and even a storyline in a Christmas episode when itâs with a boy but itâs not when she has a girlfriend. The most is having jokes about sex, a few kisses to shut people up for the time being, and finally a private scene but the catch is that itâs a breakup.
Everything people ever wanted for Brittana will be given to Brittany and Sam just because theyâre straight, blond and white. Itâs the most blatant example of how Brittana didnât get taken seriously as a lesbian relationship, and it feels like theyâre trying to tell us that being a lesbian, or a bisexual girl in a lesbian relationship, is not right and it canât be portrayed on TV.
