Honestly the main thing that bothers me about Flora/Damien is that they really made her the “I can fix him” type of soft girl.
Flora NEVER thought she could fix Helia, she never had that dynamic with him! Especially in the comics like every time she would go after him whenever he isolates himself, it’s not her trying to ‘fix’ him, it’s her just being there for him and not wanting him to be alone if he’s upset.
That’s way more healthy/romantic than whatever the hell they did in the reboot.
Flora might not have explicitly said she wanted to fix Damien but if Helia had been as mean as Damien was to her she would NOT have gone near him again. Like she might have been shy and non-confrontational but she had some self-respect.
And also in the og, Flora never says outloud why she likes Helia or comment on his “mysteriousness” or talk about he looks “gentle”. Imo it’s unique that Flora was just attracted to him and not because he looked traumatised.
And its funny to me that yeah if anyone was gonna do the “stop. Look at me. This isn’t you.” thing it would be Flora but when she did it season 6 in the werewolf ep it was not cringey at all and very much a realistic reaction to how Helia was behaving. (I knw she had a similar scene in season 1 with bloom but it kind of makes sense for her character)
But what the hell was that in the reboot, Damien quite literally did not give her a single reason for her to say “i know there’s good in you”
Season 1 Riven is what Damien stans wishes he was.
