A small drabble I wrote about Helia arriving at Red Fountain after the end of Season 1 with a Codatorta cameo
With a hurriedly packed backpack thrown over his shoulder, he stood in front of the wreckage that once used to be a magnificent castle. The Specialists passing him by didn’t really notice him, they probably thought he was a curious visitor from Magix City that came to ogle at the destruction while the students worked day and night to help rebuild their beloved school.
Little did they know, his old uniform and gloves were the first thing he grabbed on his way out of his humble apartment on Harmony when he heard the news. Even if he was already too late.
“Red Fountain has fallen.”
Helia was sure those words would haunt him for years, every time he thought back to his decision to leave this life behind. Now as he contemplated on whether or not he should have even bothered showing up after everything was already over, he felt the weight of it settle over his shoulders.
For dragon’s sake, he had been sleeping while Red Fountain fought against an army of decaying monsters. Not like he could have done anything about it, considering the entire realm had been enveloped with thick, gloomy clouds that were spelled to make sure nothing entered or left the realm.
Then to hear about it on the news while he was grabbing lunch from a deli down his block…
Helia only waited long enough to find out if the headmaster, teachers and students had made it out alive before he ran out of there. Though that proved to be unnecessary since all portals were blocked and no ship could enter the realm.
After two days of restless pacing and anxiety twisting his stomach, it was declared that the siege on Magix was over and Helia finally found himself back where he needed to be.
That is, if they wanted him back…
The Specialists assigned to guard the entrance were starting to regard him suspiciously. He didn’t fault them for it considering he had been standing there without moving for at least fifteen minutes. Just as they started to approach him, a towering, burly man dressed in the signature colours of Red Fountain appeared between the damaged doors. When he spotted Helia, his brown eyes narrowed dangerously.
“Are you waiting for an invitation?” Codatorta’s booming voice mocked him without humour.
The guards exchanged confused glances and some of the Specialists wandering around them paused to watch the stern Professor chew out his latest victim.
“No, sir.” Helia replied, his spine snapping straight instantly.
“Then get in there and get to work.”
Codatorta stood planted to ground as Helia pulled himself together and made his way inside. The former Knight kept his steely gaze on the young man but when Helia brushed past him, he whispered only for him to hear.
