So anyways AU where Xue Yang gets what he wants and turns Xiao XingCheng into a fierce corpse but the kicker is that he doesn’t actually command him to slaughter people 24/7 but rather he tries to relive his life during that time of peace before XingCheng die. Xiao XingCheng still puts candy by his bed every morning and Xue Yang still tries to worm his way out of chores. He goes night hunting with Xiao XingCheng and makes witty comments, trying to live in this facade of peace for just a little longer and trying to ignore how cold XingCheng is and how quiet it is without his laughter to fill the air. (It’s alright, he makes up for the silence with plenty of chatter, things are alright, he swears they are)
