I’m forever thankful that you guys showed interest in a part two and i wasn’t actually going to write until i rewatched this episode and i hope it’s interesting enough and hope you enjoy it!
“Harold Jenkins?” Five drops your hand and looks over at his siblings, nodding his head. Allison furrows her eyebrows as she stares down at the sentence on the paper. “Who the hell is Harold Jenkins?” Diego asks, looking over Allison’s shoulders.
You take that chance to stand beside Five as he gulps the remaining drink and throws the cup over his shoulder, wincing slightly when he brings his hand down to his side. “That name sounds oddly familiar.” You murmur to yourself, racking your brain from any information. Five’s siblings are all gathered around Allison as they look at the paper with various different emotions on their faces. So, you lean over towards Five. “Are you alright?”
Five jumps slightly, not expecting to hear a voice in his brain and the frown on his face deepens as he turns to narrow his eyes at you, finally realizing just how close you are standing to him. “How are you doing this?” He mutters quietly, as to not attract his siblings’ attention and you bring a finger up to tap your own forehead.
“I suppose it’s just one of the many side-effects of my advanced telekinesis.” You give him a small smile before looking away from him. Five finds that unfamiliar tug at the back of his head dissipating and his mind is racing a mile a minute – it feels familiar, eerily familiar but it is impossible – it shouldn’t be.
“I don’t know… yet.” Five mutters, still staring at you before turning to look at Diego. “But I do know whoever this Harold Jenkins is – he is responsible for the apocalypse. So, we have to find him, and we have to do it now.”
“How is he connected to what’s going to happen?” Luther asks, looking a tad bit sceptical at the information Five is providing them. Diego steps forward from where he had been standing behind Allison and Klaus.
“Wait, so, you just know his name? That’s it? There’s probably a lot of Jenkinses here.” Diego points out.
Allison shakes her head. “Am I the only one that’s sceptical here?” Allison asks incredulously; not only did Five reappear with you in tow, he also supposedly has a name for whoever’s responsible for the incoming apocalypse. She has better things to do than being here, especially if the world is ending in three days. “I mean, how exactly do you know all about what’s his name?”
“Harold Jenkins.” You speak up, drawing everyone’s attention to you. “That mission was supposed to be sent to Hazel and Cha-Cha, the lunatics that came after Five but Five managed to intercept it before Gloria could send – there are no time for questions right now.” You explain, fingers twitching, and you turn to look at Five when he grunts in pain. You touch his elbow and he shake his head at you, letting you in his mind briefly to let you know that he is fine. “Long story short, they were sent by the Temps Commission to stop Five from coming back and preventing the end of life on Earth.”
“The Temps is my former employer.” Five cuts in before anyone else can say anything. “They monitor all of time and space to make sure that whatever is supposed to happen… happens.” Five explains impatiently. “They believe the apocalypse is coming in three days.”
You wished you had the power to rewind back time because after Five’s explanation, his siblings exploded with too many questions. Five grunts under his breath as he lifts his hand up to his lower right abdomen, grimacing in pain. Feeling a little bit irritated at the questions his siblings are throwing out, you lift your fingers to your mouth, letting out the sharpest whistle ever, catching everyone by surprise.
“Look, it’s either we waste time here by answering your questions or we can go find this Harold Jenkins who is responsible for the apocalypse! You want to go back to your daughter, Claire, don’t you?” You narrow your eyes at Allison, causing her to stare at you in surprise. “Five knows about her too and he wants to live long enough to meet her so maybe, we can all do something about the incoming apocalypse instead of panicking.”
“Feisty.” Klaus murmurs weakly as he sits on the sofa. His body doesn’t feel so good and it also feels like it’s on fire too. You shoot him a look and he wave his hand at you weakly, turning over so that he is now laying on his stomach, staring at Five and you. You look away from him to stare at Allison, Diego and Luther.
“Okay, let’s get this bastard.”
“I should have just blink in there and take the file myself.” Five grumbles as he crosses his arms, leaning against the building. You turn to your left and stare at Five who is starting to sweat slightly. “It would have been much quicker.”
You smile slightly, nodding your head in agreement. What Five had said was true – he would have been much faster. Even you would be faster at this point and you weren’t exactly trained in stealth either. “Your family is interesting.”
Five looks up from the ground to stare at you, catching your gaze on him. You simply smile at the look on his face. “Despite the craziness, it’s really nice to have a family to return to.” You tell him earnestly and your conversation with Five is cut short when Allison steps away from the payphone and Diego reappears with a file in hand. Just as Five is about to grab the file from him, Allison takes it from Diego, flipping through the pages. He limps toward Allison, keeping his arms crossed.
“Holy shit.” Allison stares at the photo in disbelief. She knew she should have trusted her gut feeling! Allison lifts up the file and turns it over to show Diego, Five and you. “Harold Jenkins is Leonard Peabody.”
“You know what? It would be nice for people to stick to-“ Five did not even wait for Diego to finish talking as he blinks away and left you standing there, staring at Diego who is clearly annoyed at everybody’s lack of plans. He narrows his eyes at you. “I’m just going to burst through the door.” He mutters under his breath but before you can even refute, Diego smashes through the glass, dropping on his front.
You sigh and lift a hand up, motioning towards the door. You hear the familiar click and Five and Allison appears, staring at Diego. “I was going to tell you I can unlock the door. Jumping through was not necessary.” You point out as Five opens the door for you. You step in and Five closes the door behind you.
“Spread out.” Diego groans as he stands up, brushing off the glass and wood off of his body. “Yell if you, uh… you know, you’re in trouble.” He sighs as he walks away from the three of you, heading in to the living room. “Pipsqueak, you’re with me.” He calls out and you look at Five and Allison who shook their heads and you groan, as you follow after him, grumbling his choice of nickname for you.
You glance around the place, trying to feel the remaining energy that had been in this room and frown. “He was here earlier – seemed like he left in a rush.” You inform Diego who raises an eyebrow at you.
“I’d gladly explain to you just how advanced my telekinesis is but even I don’t know the entire details.” You tell him dryly and this is really one of your biggest regrets ever. Not knowing the full extent of your potentials. Diego shrugs his shoulders and heads over to the kitchen, scrutinizing the poster placed on the fridge. Just as you made the move to follow after him, you hear Allison calling out for everyone.
You walk out of the living room, feeling for Allison’s energy when you realize that she is in the attic. So, you walk up the stairs, Diego behind you and head for the attic, meeting Five who is staring at something with Allison. Your nose scrunches upon smelling something rotten and you step up behind Five. “What are you guys – holy shit.”
There were figurines with their faces burnt off, pop-arts of the entire Hargreeves family with their faces scratched off and some of the things that were pasted on the wall sent shivers down your spine and you nod your head in agreement when Diego mentioned about Harold Jenkins having serious issues. However, because you were standing right behind Five, you heard him gasp and you turn to look at him sharply, seeing him swaying and a second later, Five falls on you, causing you to land on your ass as Five lands on your lap, groaning.
Allison and Diego rushes to the two of you and Allison’s eyes widen when she finally notices the blood seeping through Five’s sweater. “Blood – “ You immediately straighten up when Allison kneels beside you and your eyes zeroed in on the blood.
“His abdomen.” You point out, making sure you don’t shift too much as worry and guilt starts to slowly consume you. You had an inkling that Five had been injured earlier but when he had shrugged you off, you simply put that thought at the back of your head and your heart twinges in pain when Allison lifts up his sweater and you see a shrapnel lodged at his abdomen, oozing blood. “You’re losing far too much blood, Five.” You murmur out loud and Five gasps, eyes losing focus and his head almost slips off of your lap until you used one of your hands to keep him still on your lap.
“Jesus, Five. Why didn’t you say anything?” Diego looks away from Five’s injury to stare at his brother’s face and Five’s breathing is starting to get heavy as he begins to pant from the pain.
“So close.” He groans and all you can do at that time is caress his cheek, trying to take away his pain from him. “You need to keep going…” Five trails off, hand brushing against yours. You swallow the lump in your throat and grab his hand.
“Five?” Allison calls out, shaking his body.
“Five’s passed out from the blood loss.” You tell her and the three of you share a look. “I can’t heal him because that’s beyond my powers but what I can do right now is this,” Without waiting for their replies, you simply concentrate on the shrapnel and using your power, you slowly pull it out of Five’s abdomen, causing blood to stream out. Dropping the shrapnel to the side, you place your hand on his injury, stopping the rest of the blood from flowing out. Looking up to see his siblings’ shocked faces, you shake your head. “We need to get Five fixed asap – I can’t lose him!”
