Some "helpful" reviews, in case anyone is on the fence about watching The Sandman:

ONE MORE WIN FOR THE GAAAYS

There's so much going on for Simon during his first kiss with Baz:

-Revealing he has never thought outside of heteronormativity before ("look at me, I'm kissing a boy!!")

-Noting Baz's vampirism, comparing it to Agatha being warm (like a regular human) and Baz being cold (his coldness becomes something he'd gladly warm him up with his lips, his hands etc)

-Maybe his more gentlemanly nature, but mostly how he's kinda out of it, in the sense of how new it is for him to "go off script" rather than going through the motions of what's expected of him ("am I cheating on Agatha? Oh right, we broke up already lol never mind")

-His traumas related to homophobia (he worries they're being watched while they kiss, but then relax when he realizes they're alone in the woods)

-His sudden realization that he has always wanted Baz. He goes "finally I have you right where I want you", as if he had been planning this all along, as if everything about them has been leading to this. He also goes "I'm never letting Baz go" now that he know how he wants him, and "I like him like this" (underneath him, with his tongue down his throat lol)

Meanwhile Baz is snatching and throwing away that anti-vampire anti-gay cross, and just going "is this a good kiss? Fuck it, I'm living a charmed life" and that's it, just a dramatic gay little vampire having his first kiss while dramatically surrounded by literally fire.

Also funny how Baz compares sharing a room with Simon with a fire, and how he often thought "this will end in flames" and it well, it did! There were certainly flames while they kissed the hell out of each other

dont you just love the fact that except from baz, who is the most stylish person in the world, the other characters (especially simon) never get their clothes described?? cause when rainbow is describing them, is always something like this:

rainbow writing baz: he looks stunning in his beautifull shirt, with shiny pants and shoes that anyone would die for.

rainbow writing simon: idk sweatpants i guess
