heya, guys! it’s been an incredibly long time, hasn’t it? i’m really sorry about that, especially to those i had threads with; i started losing muse for ayaka, and eventually i didn’t have the time, energy, or inspiration for her character. but i’m thinking of coming back and giving her another go!

now the really important part i need to ask about is whether or not anyone wants to keep the thread they had going with me. i’m seriously considering just starting from scratch, dropping all threads and deleting all messages in my inbox. it’d just be easier and a lot less stressful, i think. but i’d be willing to keep a thread if someone wanted to!

and a heads up; i’ve got at least one other account (maybe two if i get my butt in gear and get back to it) to keep up with as well, so my activity may be sporadic, especially as i’m trying to get back into the groove of things. i want to do my best if i really do come back to ayaka, though, so you can be sure that i’m going to try really hard to be on top of things here!

i suppose i’ll leave it at that – thanks for reading this and be sure to tell me your opinion!

“Huh?” Unable to hide her surprise at first, Naomi resisted the urge to glance around them to make sure she was the one being addressed before realizing that she was probably new and wasn’t yet aware of the rumours despite the loud gossiping of teens in their class. “Go for it.” She replied with a small shrug of her shoulders before turning her attention back to the window. 

It wasn’t often that someone asked to sit beside her and when they did Naomi found them moving seats not too long afterwards so she figured this time would be no different

The moment she took her seat beside the other female, those damned teens got louder, seemingly appalled at Ayaka’s choice of seat. Her lips dipped into a harsh frown, brow furrowing as annoyance tried to claw its way to the surface. This was ridiculous. Anyone could see the rumors couldn’t be true. Light green hues flicked to her classmate. 

They weren’t likely to be true, at least. Regardless of the truth, the teen didn’t seem the least bit interested in hurting anyone, so the fact that she was being judged based upon hearsay was starting to really grate on her nerves.

“Some people need to learn to keep their mouths shut.”

          A promise he could not make, if it happened, it happened, and therefore he chose to reply to the answer with a cold silence, avoiding a final statement. It wasn’t like he wanted to be torn into pieces by these nasty creatures, but what could he do if they got to him ? Not even his stubbornness could bring him back from the dead…. 

          ▬Thoughts were shoved away for a moment as he sent his vortex in the direction of the unholy spawn, setting their limbs ablaze. Rest in pieces you fuck, he mumbled to himself as he slowly let the flames die out, inhaling a few breaths as he caught sight of the sounds that had appeared on his body - As long as he wasn’t infected he was fine…. He just had to… Keep going, at least until she got back. 

            He had gotten two down…                     But there was still a level two left.

          Lavi had never liked the shrieks that came from the bodies when he hit them with his innocence, and in his tired state it was only making his head pound even more – This was why he preferred going on missions with Allen instead of others; he could free them properly, while he only destroyed them, unaware of what happened to the souls afterwards (never had he forgotten the sight he had seen back at a castle so far, far away from here)

          Upon hearing the familiar voice in front of him (he had not caught onto the shout she had sent in his direction) a single green eye glanced up at the back of the slender female; “Easier– Said th–an done. I can’t do anythin’ until – That Level two bastard is–d–dead… He’ll just follow, and I ain’t leaving ya’ alone with this asshole either.” 

          A large, centipede like creature crawled over in their direction, laughing in a high pitched manner as it opened his mighty mouth to reveal a large, purple tongue along with a labyrinth of sharp teeth. It was laughing of them, mocking the redheaded bookman’s state, teasing the effort of the girl – A true plague of a grim insect. Lavi hated centipedes.  

          Lavi couldn’t leave her with that one, he just couldn’t.

              “Use your head, Lavi. Who would be more of a loss here?” The words left her lips before she really registered it happening, her mind preoccupied with the appearance of the centipede like akuma. “I don’t plan to die, but honestly,” She shoved down the panic beginning to rise in her chest and readjusted her grip on the two wakizashi, hands slightly stiff from clutching the hilts so tightly. “If you die, and I live, the Order won’t be the only one losing someone important.” Ayaka was referring to the other exorcists he was often around, of course. While she had distanced herself from most and would barely be a blow to anyone’s emotional state, Lavi’s death wouldn’t be taken quite so well. 

            Her stomach churned uneasily the closer the creature became. She wasn’t prepared for this, but she was going to have to deal with it. Lavi had already worked himself so hard; it was doubtful that he would be able to keep up. Ayaka could be underestimating the young man -- she hoped she was -- however, she had to assume the worst. Better to be overly prepared than under prepared. 

          Despite the unsettling laughter and proclamation of the centipede now only about thirty feet away and approaching, the crimson-haired female managed a small, almost forced smirk. She needed to put on a show if she was going to convince not just her comrade but herself that she could handle this. Especially if she was about to force him out of the fight like she planned.

            ‘ Have a little faith-- ‘

          Their small window of time was cut much shorter when the level two suddenly surged forward, mouth gaping open as if to swallow the exorcists whole. The panic Ayaka had dismissed just moments ago came back full force. We can’t move fast enough--! 

          A barely thought out plan flickered through her mind, and the next thing Ayaka could remember was the gritting of her teeth, a throbbing pain in her ankles and wrists, and the sight of her blades buried to the guards in the akuma’s head. The creature immediately began screeching at the top of its lungs, waving its head back and forth in an attempt to throw her off and dislodge the swords which were seeping their acidic poison.

        She went flying, slamming into one of the burned patches of earth with a pained cry. Air wouldn’t properly grace her lungs, her vision was losing focus, and the last thing she wanted to do was stand, but she had to get up. Lavi couldn’t move fast enough to get away. He had overworked himself to pick up her slack. He could... She didn’t want to think about what could happen.

Her gaze wasn’t angry, but she was looking at the other female with displeasure in her chartreuse orbs. Ayaka wasn’t fond of people touching her, and Naomi was overstepping a few boundaries by placing her hand over the redhead’s mouth. She had just been about to share her latest customer story, too.

One crimson eyebrow slowly rose, eyes posing the question, “What are you doing?”
