Doing things when you don’t feel motivated
Waiting until you “feel motivated” is one of the biggest traps keeping you stuck. We assume that motivation leads to action. But neuroscience reveals it’s actually the opposite, action creates motivation. And doing things especially when you don’t feel like it rewires your brain in powerful ways that boost your mindset, open doors and lead to lasting success
You’ve probably heard of dopamine, the “motivation molecule” in your brain. It plays a key role in desire, drive and goal pursuit. But you don’t need to feel motivated to get dopamine, you need to take action
When you take action your brain releases dopamine afterward, reinforcing the behavior and making it more likely you’ll do it again
This is called “self generated dopamine.” And it’s how habits are built
So when you push yourself to go for that walk, send that email, or post that content without feeling like it your brain rewards you afterward, not before. You just flipped the script because your brain learns that you are in control, not your feelings. This means fewer spirals of procrastination and more consistent action
The people who achieve more, connect more and grow faster aren’t always more talented they’re just more consistent. And consistency comes from doing the work even when you don’t feel like it
It’s how momentum is built
It’s how visibility is built
Its how opportunities show up
If you want a tough love synopsis then look at it like this, every time you let your feelings win it means you are not in control and don’t have power over your own life. Sounds ugly right? I’m sure you probably don’t want that
Waiting for motivation keeps you invisible. Taking action even imperfectly keeps you moving forward
Motivation is a side effect, not a requirement
When you act without feeling ready, you’re building a growth mindset, a more efficient brain and a life that’s shaped by your choices and not fleeting emotions
And that kind of power changes everything
You don’t need to be motivated to build a great life
You need to act when it’s inconvenient, uncomfortable, and uninspiring because that’s when you’re rewiring your brain. That’s when you’re becoming the version of yourself that gets results. That’s when magic happens
Friendly reminder that sometimes things feel difficult or out of reach not because they are, but because they’re outside the realm of what we’ve seen, experienced, learned or believed possible. Often it’s just our brain creating obstacles to protect us from the unknown. But once we take the first step and actually do it, we wonder why we waited so long
Don’t let unfamiliarity disguise itself as impossibility
Stop forcing alignment where your spirit feels unsafe. Go where your nervous system relaxes. That’s the real “right place.”
You know, I honestly can’t get over how horny I am now that I’m in my 30s. This is obviously something I’ve read about, but I really thought the girls were exaggerating. Turns out they weren’t and it’s driving me insane. It’s debilitating. I can’t help but wonder if it’s exacerbated by the fact that I’ve been celibate for a while now? Could it be? I don’t know, but I’m so tired of feeling like this 24/7. I’d like my hormones to get it together please and thank you.
