I think one of the funniest abortion stances I've heard was from my parents neighbor. He's a like, hard-core libertarian viking larper guy who is very tall and very fat and very bald.
He believes a fetus is human with a soul, but also its "basically attacking the woman's body" so if she wants to get rid of it, that's "basically self-defense". He compared it to shooting a home invader. So he supports abortion not as healthcare, but as killing a baby in self-defense

On a Night Like This
A/N: Just a very short, fluffy piece for the campfire (now village?) and everyone else who likes to read Goren and Eames finally figuring it out. And yes, this is also unbetaed.
Fandom: Law & Order: Criminal Intent Ship: Alexandra Eames/Robert Goren Rating: General Words: 741

They had been somewhere in the middle of nowhere again in the late fall. The air was cold and almost biting, a herald of coming snow.
Alex wondered, not for the first time that night, why their perp couldn't have been hiding in the city. Now, not only was it pitch black outside, but they had to spend the night in a hotel.
The officer from the local precinct finished talking and she wished him a goodnight, before she wandered back to the SUV around the corner to warm herself up. Her partner had gone off into the night after the arrest. He was probably decompressing. She didn't envy him. After all, he had talked the perp down from splattering his brains on the kitchen wall right in front of his mother and that had been a slow process.
She found Bobby leaning on the hood of the car, staring up at the sky. He looked at her the moment he noticed her approaching. They looked at each other for a moment, before Alex leaned on the car, shoulder to shoulder with him. Maybe she could leech some warmth from him?
"You good?" She looked at him with a look that told him she wanted the truth.
"Better than half an hour ago." He spoke quietly, seeming tired.
Alex nodded in understanding. "You've been standing in the cold all this time?"
He glanced at her for a second before answering. "Look up."
"What?"
"Look up." He only repeated patiently.
And she did. For a moment, all she saw was the black sky. And then a few bright stars. And then more. And even more. Millions of stars started appearing overhead the longer she looked at the sky.
"I don't remember the last time I saw the stars." New York City with its million and one lights never quite let you see the stars like this. It was breathtaking. "It's beautiful."
"Yes." She felt the ghost of his breath on her face and turned to him. What she saw in his eyes made her swallow. Bobby looked at her as if she was the most magnificent thing on the planet.
The jittery feeling in her stomach was not helping the situation. At that moment, all she wanted to do was give in to her impulsive side. But her rational side stepped in and warned her that it might ruin everything between them.
She pushed off from the car with every intention of stopping whatever was happening at the moment. Was it really worth it to risk everything they had?
She took a step forward and literally felt how Bobby neatly packed away all the things she had seen on display moments ago. Any other man might've pushed his luck, might've pushed her, but not so her partner. With him, everything was on her terms, every development in their partnership had been because she let him see behind her walls or she had pushed behind his. He only pushed when he absolutely had to and even then he was apologetic about it.
She knew for a while that she wouldn't be able to resist him, if he would try his luck with her. But he never did. He just put the idea out there and left her with the decision to take it or leave it. Never pushing her either way.
She sighed. She was strong, but she was also just a woman. And what was resisting what was so obviously between them accomplishing anyway?
She turned around and stepped in close to him again. The miniscule confused twitch of his brows didn't escape her. And the flicker of hope rising in his eyes as she raised her hand and put it on his shoulder didn't escape her either. It made the decision easy for her.
She confidently leaned up and he finally got the hint that he had to do a little more than just offer himself up and leaned down.
The most surprising thing was how right it felt to her to be kissing him. What had she been waiting for all this time? Why had she been resisting the pull?
When they parted, she calmly looked at him, before burying her head against his chest. "This is so cliché."
He snorted humorously. "On a night like this." He muttered while putting his arms around her and pulling her more to him. And she went willingly into his embrace and warmth.
More random gifs I made when I was bored:
1. One of my favourite scenes. I love how cute Bobby is when he's embarrassed and how Alex tries to not laugh too much but still has so much fun with it.
2. Bobby knows he shouldn't argue with his wife.
3. Bobby looking at his "sister" with heart eyes after his brother told their mother they were a couple and then them smiling about it. Of course that is totally platonic™.
4. Aren't they the cutest? (And that other detective being the third wheel on their little date.)
5. Bobby's reaction to Alex telling him he looks good. Guess he has to look to the ground because otherwise they wouldn't make it to the crime scene.
6. Alex reaction gif.
Was it casual?
Never.
One more or less random Goreames scene from each episode of season 1 (I hope I didn't mess it up because I got confused halfway through).
Alex and Bobby were so cute. They always are, but seeing them in their first year on screen really makes me sentimental. I'm kind of sad I wasn't born yet to witness it live on TV.
I also have to say thank you to @bobbyalexlove and @wolfthatroamsshadows for making this edit (and hopefully a lot more in the future) possible.
Was it casual when they looked at each other lovingly and longingly for the whole season (or actually the whole fucking show)?
