What to Expect as a Student Pilot
Going into training with no expectations other than knowing I was going to get my license, here are a few things I wish I'd known along the way.
First off, I wish I had laid out everything I needed from my first lesson until my check ride. If I had laid everything out, I would have been able to better allocate my time to complete training as efficiently as possible. Since there are lots of requirements, such as how many hours you need, but there is a subset like hours with an instructor, solo hours, cross-country hours, etc., it can get confusing, and right when you stop focusing on the little things you forget about how to do certain things, which are fundamental to becoming a great pilot.
Another thing is to make sure you like your instructor, because you will be spending a lot of time with them. My instructor for the first half of my training was okay. I felt like I was just flying around willy-nilly, but luckily for me, my second flight instructor was a beast, and I really enjoyed every minute I spent with him in the air and on the ground.
My second instructor helped me schedule everything and get all my ducks in a row, but with that being said, there were still some difficult parts after training and just flying in general.

Antonov Design Bureau UR-82029 [Antonov An-124-100 Ruslan] seen on finals to runway 23L as flight ADB787F from Hawaiʻi.
A semi-regular visitor, the An-124 is the world's largest aircraft, now that the An-225 Myra has been reduced to scrap metal.
I am unsure as to the purpose of this visit, but I can certainly appreciate the majesty of this aircraft.
