did you enjoy the lifestyle of a trainee or of a debuted idol more?

“although i miss being able to go places freely, when i wanted to, i enjoy debut much more. there’s a security here that isn’t there with being a trainee. so long as my public image remains decent, i’m solid for a while.”

“all the eyes on us. i’d like to be able to do some normal things still. i understand that i signed up for this, but even just going to a bar can turn into some big huge thing, even though it’s normal for someone in their 20s to do once in a while.”

“baby don’t like it is pretty high up. back 2 u as well, both were interesting and kind of different from normal b-sides, i think.”

“touch, by far. everything about it was incredible, vocally. however, fire truck was the coolest in terms of visuals.”

“i was not fond of angel, to be honest. it was a little too out there for our concept, i think.”

if you were auditioning for your company today, what would you perform for your audition, or what would you change from your original audition?

“i would preform good for you, i think. i auditioned with a ballad and i’d stick to that tactic, it’s what got me in in the first place. my dancing was at no place to even try something stronger.”

if you could be in any idol group, which one would you choose?

“the only group i’d trade unity for would be mars, maybe. i love some of their darker concepts, i think i’d have fun with those.”

if you could become a model or ambassador for any brand, what would you choose?

“reebok or adidas. i wear their stuff enough, i might as well get paid for it!”

which of the two other companies (out of bc, dimensions, and gold star) you are not currently signed under would you rather be an artist in?

“probably gold star. they have some interesting concepts and seem like the more positive of the two. bc is too strict for me, for sure. i’m not sure how any of them do it.”

what tips would you give to a trainee about to debut?

“be careful who you hang around, make sure you’ve got good friends in and out of the industry. be mindful of diets, but some rice once in a while will not kill you. practice hard at whatever you’re worst at.”

if you could do a duet with anyone in the industry, who would you choose?

“probably andy or minhee. someone with rapping ability! i clearly have the vocals to carry that aspect, but a rapper would balance nicely, i think. doubt they’d be ready for a track from any of us, though.”

what do you think of your/your group’s concept?

“i personally love it. i think it suits all of our members well and that we execute it better than any other group doing anything similar. maybe that’s too arrogant, but it’s the truth as well. i wouldn’t change it at all, i think i got very lucky with my debut.”

if you could be on any variety show, which one (or which type of one) would you want to be on?

“knowing brothers. i think it’d be really funny, it’s one of my favorites to watch personally.”

what is one thing (a concept, a genre, an outfit, etc.) you would least like your company make you do?

“i’d personally love to stay away from the cuter stuff. i don’t think it’d suit us, vocally or visually. i like the cooler style we’ve got already anyways. anything more than touch would be too far.” 

describe your dream sub-unit (members and concept).

“probably jihae, max, and myself. it’d be a pretty well rounded group! as for the concept, maybe something more r&b with a cooler rap.” 

out of the following six options, would you rather be allowed to play a major hand in the lyrics, production, choreography, styling, music videos, or concepts you release?

“i think i’d most like a hand in styling. i have the most to learn in that regard and it seems like it’d be a lot of fun, without the responsibility of deciding the conceptual side. just execution, which i feel like i’m best at.”

what one thing (concepts, genres, styling, frequency of comebacks, etc.) would you like to change about your current career as an idol?

“i’m overall pretty happy with our image, i just wish we had more activities. even if they weren’t comebacks, mcing or acting or anything would be nice. it gets boring.” 

what do you do to relieve the stress of idol life?

“read, video games, i’ll go out when i think i can slip away without the managers noticing. sometimes i’ll visit home if i have the time to travel out.” 

would you rather be incredibly famous with a terrible reputation and hated by most or be fairly unknown with a good reputation and adored by those who know of you? why?

“good reputation. i didn’t really get into this for the fame and i’d rather be known for good things rather than bad. although, both is the best of both worlds.”

what changes would you implement if you were the ceo of your company?

“more breaks overall, ensuring artists are paid properly, and honestly, better management as a whole. it’s not as if people don’t want to see our company’s groups, i don’t know why they choose not to promote some as frequently.”

“honestly, not much to say to them. i’m doing pretty well. maybe give us more activities? i like being busy.”

what career opportunities would you like to pursue that you’ve yet to, or what achievements would you like to obtain that you’ve yet to?

“i think i’d like modeling! i’m very tall, i’d show off the clothes well. if only my face was prettier.”

if you were offered the chance to become a ceo of an entertainment company, new or existing, would you take it? why or why not?

“probably not, honestly. maybe when my contract is up or i have actual management skills. can you imagine me running a company of any kind? we’d do something illegal and get fucked.”
