   “waah… it’s so hot today.”  siwoo muttered, hand raising to block the sun streaming in from the window they were sitting near. a much needed break from just everything hectic that comes from being an idol. though, after over four years of being an active idol, and then the years in training before that, siwoo was rather use to how things. use to being stuck in stuffy clothing even when its a thousand degree’s outside. at least he wasn’t expected to do too much today, and all of it was indoors. still, he was glad to take the break–and said break with with a hoobae he’s greatly amused with. as all things, siwoo tends to attach himself to the other maknae’s of groups. especially those of younger groups, wanting to be a good sunbae and hyung to those not as use to this. 

    his gaze dropped from the window onto the other sitting across from him, gesturing to the watrer he had set on the table mere moments before. “make sure you drink all of that during break, okay? it’s hot and you need to stay hydrated.” obvious things, but siwoo couldn’t help it, he worries for people–and that only amplifies for younger people. “later we should go get ice cream, yea?”

DAEWON’S IN A TERRIBLE MOOD given the ridiculous, flaming weather and the awful schedule he’s been having to deal with. with dimensions failing big-time at dealing with anyone but unity, and his hyungs seemingly even more cranky than usual (the ones he bothers talking to, at least), the maknae’s taken it into his own hands to find other people to spend time with.

sina happened to be the person to take daewon under his wing. as much as daewon would love to hang out with his sister, the fact of the matter is that their schedules rarely cross. and as much as daewon would love to spend time with the rest of unity, it’s been tough— tension between daewon and the members is as thick as ever (and, admittedly, that’s his own fault).

surprisingly, daewon enjoys spending time with the older man (though it’s only older by just around a year). it’s nice to have someone actually showing fondness for him, and so daewon can’t help the smile that flickers across his face when sina tells him to drink his water. noticing that the other seems close to sweating to death, daewon uses his papers to fan sina for a few seconds before taking a swig out of the water bottle.

DAEWON DOESN’T HAVE TO WONDER what it's like to be below everyone, because he’s an entire snake and he knows it. fortunately, shen is either very tolerant of that or is a snake himself, because when daewon called him up and asked if he wanted to mess with the fans, shen agreed. it’s how the two of them wound up sitting in a café in busy-as-hell, seoul with daewon ~gazing lovingly, longingly~ at shen every now and again. he’s well-aware of the cameras “discreetly” snapping evidence of the two of them— daewon lays the schmooze on extra thick.

both unity and origin are boy groups to look out for, with unity being the monster rookie that they are and origin being, well, origin. so naturally, when the two maknaes happened to look in each other’s direction one day for maaaayybe two seconds, at least a hundred different cameras managed to capture the moment and create elaborate theories behind it.

and so kasemtoile was born, sparking fanfics and fanarts and questionable ship edits left and right. daewon, who had a soft spot for the malicious, managed to get in touch with his counterpart; it just so happened that they clicked well together and became friends, both finding amusement in the ship. they feed into it like this every now and again, and daewon greedily laps up the cameras trained on them.

“hyung,” daewon murmurs breathlessly, taking pieces of his meal and transferring it to shen’s plate. it’s mostly for the benefit of anyone nearby who might be an angel or a genesis (and judging by the heads tilted eagerly toward their table, that’s quite a few). “origin’s been working so hard lately that i worry about you— please take some of my meat. you’re eating properly, right?”

the kang-vaillancourt brothers

Daewon and @fmdminah​ were raised by Kang Taeil and Marie-Noelle Vaillancourt. In France, the siblings preferred to go by their mother’s last name, as it held more weight to it than Taeil’s, who was a humble noodle-shop-owner-turned-homemaker. When Marie-Noelle went out into the world and ran her business and Taeil stayed at home helping servants cook and clean, the siblings preferred to spend time with each other. Marie-Noelle had a hand in naming them, as did Taeil— the three eldest brothers don’t share a syllable the same way most Korean siblings do, and have a Western name they preferred to go by at Marie-Noelle’s insistence. Daewon himself never had a Western name, as he was named by his Korean birthmother and never felt the need to adopt one.

KANG CHUL ★ BASTIEN VAILLANCOURT ★ AGE 31

Chul is the eldest son and the heir to the Vaillancourt Group. Groomed since birth for the position, Chul is fluent in French, Korean, English, Mandarin, Spanish, and German. He never got to spend much time with any of his siblings because he was always pushed to further his education and become bigger and better in everything he does. He never got close to them as a result. Since the death of Marie-Noelle and Taeil, he has become the figurehead of the company and also the Vaillancourt family patriarch. He wishes deeply to get closer with his younger siblings; Daewon has trouble doing so, partly because of the age difference but also because Daewon has closed himself off to anyone he wasn’t close to before the death of his parents. Chul is extremely determined, though, and texts Daewon nearly everyday. It was at his insistence that Daewon continue his training after the death of their parents.

KANG SIHYUN ★ CLÉMENT VAILLANCOURT ★ AGE 29

As a child, Daewon used to tease Sihyun for being so serious all the time. Sihyun always refused to break the rules and found Daewon’s romantic fancies childish and capricious. Daewon, while generally a good kid, wanted to sneak out in the middle of the night and take girls on starry-skied dates in stark contrast to this. So Daewon and Sihyun never quite got along. In the event that Chul can no longer run the company, Sihyun will be forced to take it, so he has been focusing on business studies and furthering his career as a surgeon in such a potential unfortunate event. Daewon does love his brother as he loves them all, but Sihyun approaches Daewon with too realistic of a perspective than Daewon prefers. Sihyun thinks his youngest brother is being immature for the way he treats people following the death of their parents (he’s not wrong).

KANG KWANGSOO ★ VALENTIN VAILLANCOURT ★ AGE 27

Kwangsoo is a notorious playboy, which makes sense as he’s widely considered the most handsome of the Vaillancourt brothers. He was listed as one of the world’s most desirable bachelors in 2016, and that’s certainly gotten to his head. Despite this, he’s definitely got wisdom beyond the farce he puts out. Kwangsoo is excellent at dispensing good advice and knowing when it’s time to get serious. He has a certain sadness in his eyes that came with his parents’ death. People have noted he partied more following 2014. He recently became engaged to the daughter of a bookstore owner, and their wedding will be in late summer. Daewon looks up to him and is closest to him, and if Kwangsoo would just tell his youngest brother to pull his act together, Daewon would.

                    ❛ The travel from Paris to Korea felt awfully long, even though the week-long stay seemed to have flown out of the window rather too quickly. Visiting the place she used to call home, it was a heavy feeling even though it has been years since the tragedy. Wasting money on lavish things to keep her mind off from the real reason why she came home. 

Being stuck in her apartment was no good but she didn’t want to bother Daewon either and Jaewon hasn’t given her any updates that seemed out of the ordinary regarding her precious and angelic little brother. 

Unity has a busy schedule, far too different from BEE. Her days consisted of working out and doing almost absolutely nothing else with her life other than a couple of schedules every now and then. Missing her brother was too much for her to bear so she sends him a text message to congratulate him.

IT FEELS LIKE DAEWON HASN’T heard from minah in too long— international calling isn’t a problem for someone of their financial status, and if he really needed to he could just hop on a jet to paris— but those aren’t the reasons he can’t see his sister. rather, he’s simply too busy, and he hates the feeling of having to push aside his closest family member for the sake of dimensions. it appears the company hasn’t earned as much as they wished, and so daewon’s got to put forth more effort in appearing presentable. dimensions wants unity to earn what other groups couldn’t.

daewon wishes instead that he could have gone to paris with his sister. for the first time since his trainee years, he didn’t get to fly there this year for the anniversary of his parents’ death, resulting in him being even pissier than usual to the point that he actually feels bad for the people who had to deal with him. knowing minah, she’s probably brought home some nice treats and spent away the family fortune.

rowdy groups indeed— sometimes he wishes he could just go and eat alone, but his schedule is so tied into unity’s that it seems he’s stuck staring into the faces of unity every waking moment. normally, he wouldn’t mind— they’re alright, no matter how much he insists he hates them. well, at least, most of them are alright. he pastes a complacent smile on his face and offers nabi his hand as they make their way down the cement stairs outside the building. “it’s a little rainy— please be careful you don’t slip, sunbae.”
