Since there was some interest in my island, I figured I should post these from my island for the time being. I don't have *all* my planned Miis in yet (I have 6 more planned Miis that I want to add from the Church/Faculty) but I based them on their pre-timeskip designs for the time being. I might update them all to their post-TS ones later though.
Holy fuck I just totally played that for 13 hours straight whoops. Going to put the rest of this TL:LTD Fódlan Island Post under a read more. There's no screenshots, just text. I'm very ramble when tired apparently
One person reblogged wanting to see some of my island, so I might post screens and videos of it after I take a nap honk shoo mimimi because I'm very tired. However, there's already been a few crushes and a few platonic move ins and it's making me very happy. The lighthearted grind continues when I wake up from my nap.
So far I have added the Blue Lions, then F!Byleth and Jeritza, and then Edelgard, Hubert, Ferdinand, Linhardt and Caspar. Then I started conking out more severely and will need to get to the rest tomorrow+.
Shout-out to the questions about your real life that ask you about celebrities, each one is going to get filled with a vocaloid, I'm sorry in advance for the absurdity (unless anyone else has any other funnier ideas).
I also made everyone pan. It's caused a few hilarious crushes that I turned down, but it DID lead me true to one personal pairing of mine. So I guess I win. I need to go bed this is the end of this post post over
I wanted to let you guys know my plan for my Tomodachi Life island in 'the big 2026' was to shove most of Three Houses on an island together and seeing what happened. There's a chance I might post about it sometime here, and if so, I apologize in advance. Only 40 minutes away from making terrible mistakes. I'll tag this with the tentative tag about it if anyone wants to block it in case you want to avoid spoilers about TL:LTD if it happens! (And also let me know if you do want to see this LMAO)
hello hello! for the past year i've been working on this redesign project — taking the FE3H designs in a more historical direction and giving them my own twist. this is (tentatively) the last set! (under a readmore for your dash's sake)
beginning with Byleth, as seen in human and enlightened mode. my main priorities were making them a) genderless b) practically armoured, with a heavy quilted gambeson, and c) SCARRED. i like face scars and think they're hot. the enlightened one look is slightly byzantine-inspired.
funny story. i had Claude all designed up with the one on the right, and then i drew the other deer and realized i hadn't made him fancy enough. he's very english in terms of fashion, fitting with the shakespearean theme. he also gets the leicester chain of office, some fancy diagonal slashing, and cavalry boots.
i am tentatively sure that i haven't dramatically cocked up the calligraphy, but the blade of his khanjar dagger has his name engraved just below the hilt, plus some more fancy gold inlay.
Hilda is Very Italian in her mode of dress haha. i think the connection was derdriu=venice->leicester=italy in my head? she has matching pearl nets in two parts of her fancy hairdo, and tied-on sleeves with a ton of ruffles. titties pushed up and together, as would have been the style, and a shitload of pearls in general.
i really love the pinky browns she has in canon so i incorporated as much of that as i could!
with Lorenz i gave myself permission to go as silly as i could handle, to my own personal delight. i just really like him and all his purple, which would have been Such a brag in the renaissance. purple dye is extremely hard to make And hard to maintain, so his deeply saturated colours are a not-so-subtle boast about house gloucester's wealth. plus all the gold embroidery and lace and other fancy fixings.
i could not resist giving him a big hat with feathers. what do i look like to you.
Marianne is actually probably my favourite of these. the blues and bronzes are soooo nice on her and i loved doing the detailing of her partlet (the gold and bead netting on her collar) and her circlet. her sleeves are tied on like Hilda's, but with a simpler funnel-shape instead of a bunch of fancy puffs and beading.
since Raphael's family are innkeepers now, i prioritized practicality for him. his clothes are good-quality for sure, but the emphasis is on easy washing and comfortable fit. i also really, really wanted to give him a good amount of body fat to support all the muscle, and the friendliest face in the world. my big sweet man.
Ignatz represents leicester's merchant class, with fancy cuts and detailing but not too expensive colours! he has fancy shoes and high socks rather than boots, since he's not a horseman, and he gets to wear a fancy hat. i regret to inform you that the matching-colours jerkin and pants combo was in fact very stylish in the renaissance...
Leonie is dressed as a reasonably successful mercenary in a landsknecht-inspired outfit! i really had fun designing this look lmaoooo she has so much energy and confidence, so it was really fun capturing that in her general look.
for Lysithea, the emphasis was on rich colours and a very grown-up cut. her sleeves have that same tied-on look as both Marianne's and Hilda's, with very wide gold trim, while the cut of her bodice is also between the other two girls'. her hair, too, is put up to emphasize her maturity, plus a circlet and a sheer veil to protect it from dirt.
cane is good for support and also for whacking unsuspecting Tall People who dare to call her a child.
so as y'all know i've been working on a massive FE3H redesign project, trying to pull their fantasy-inspired looks in a more Renaissance-inspired direction with more funk and fashion. it's finally finished!!! here's the black eagles!!! (under a cut for the sake of your dash.)
for Edelgard, i wanted a stately but simple and martial look. her cuirass-over-gown look is somewhat inspired by state portraits of various european kings, and she is Shouting her wealth with the yards and yards of dark red silks and gold-thread embroidery. her hair is held in place and protected by a beaded caul that fastens to the circlet of her crown.
her battle armour has Lost Its Skirt Privileges. how on sothis' green earth are you supposed to fight with a massive tangle hazard around your thighs. Girl.
for Hubert my priority was to pull his look away from the modern while keeping his snappy, professional vibe, which ended up being Very evil chancellor. his buttons are replaced with fancy clasps, his silhouette is slightly changed to emphasize his waist and voluminous sleeves (good for daggers) and i lengthened his gloves to add fancy detailing. his halo-brim hat is trimmed with ostrich-feather tips and has a fancy feather! the seal hung from his belt is a boast and a dare.
he also has a cane sword, because truly. who in this game deserves it more.
with Ferdinand i also really wanted to de-modernize the cut of his outfit. he's still adorned in high style, but with slightly faded colours. his sleeves are Big but unadorned, and his doublet is a fairly simple cut. i have made the executive decision to put his hair in a ponytail (with bonus massive bow) to keep it out of his business. doesn't look very noble to be dragging the ends of your hair in ink and tea.
with Linhardt it was once again mostly just a matter of fixing his silhouette. he looks very chic in canon but also extremely modern. he gets a cane because he deserves to have one, and the glass pen tucked behind his ear is a very new-tech invention for the time period i'm aiming them at.
for Petra . well. whole overhaul. i did de-saturate her clothes' palette to emphasize the natural dyes, all except for the super braggy, super fashionable statement piece that is her purple wrap. purple has symbolized royalty for millennia thanks to the murderously difficult process of extracting the dye from rare molluscs, and then the difficulty of maintaining the colour. Petra, with her purple wrap and gold torc jewelry, is here to remind everyone that she *is* going to be Queen.
her headdress from three hopes is so cool i couldn't resist including it. in brigid she wouldn't be wearing pants or shoes at all but fódlan is far colder than brigid so she has leathers.
Caspar is the first of my Landsknecht-inspired designs. his main palette is still within the pink-browns of canon, but boy did i have fun redoing him to show off.
i've also revoked his side-shave privileges, because there's no way this boy is maintaining that when he could be doing push-ups. likewise he has some scruff along his jaw because i fully and truly don't believe he shaves every day.
admittedly with Bernadetta i did lose myself a little in the delight of "futch bernie....." but it came out so cutely i can't be mad. her hair fluff is restored and i've done her up in soft muted colours. most of the detail work is lifted straight from canon, just changed from her dress into a doublet and big ol' pants.
finally we have Dorothea representing the high femmes of adrestia. she makes up for her lack of embroidery with sheer volume of fabric, about a million silver beads, and a fillet of pearls. her hair is still mostly down in a maidenly style, but it is covered with a veil and a net caul to protect it from day-to-day dust and dirt.
you can't see it here, but thanks to the structured nature of undergarments in this time period, her breasts are actually pushed together and up so that she could probably rest a teacup and saucer on them without spilling. waow…
as mentioned in my last post i recently finished a MASSIVE FE3H outfit redesign project to make things more historical and funky. here's the blue lions!!! (readmore for the sake of your dash)
i designed Dimitri first, with an eye to establishing the patterns of Faerghus fashion. this outfit would appear after the battle at Gronder Field, when he can be convinced to put on the fancy kingly outfit Rodrigue brought for him. the shades of blue are various saturations of woad dye, which is a plant that thrives in cold and cloudy environments.
Dedue's outfit is largely inspired by historical Scandinavian looks. i wanted him to appear somber but practical, in natural-dye shades and a mostly wool fabric composition.
in my academy-era designs i noted that i really, really wanted to make his design less "palette-swapped white guy" and i am keeping that up with his new hairdo.
with Felix, the real challenge was keeping his most recognizable design elements while keeping him away from the extremely modern textile design of three houses. since these are meant to be "hanging around base" designs, i had to remove his armour, but he gets to keep the profusion of belts since it really can't be felix fraldarius without them. his slit mantle is thrown over his shoulder on one side to make it easier to fence - you know, just in case he has to duel someone for an insult - but also to show off the extremely rich blue lining.
Mercedes was a fun challenge, in which i got to design a much more middle-class outfit with fewer bells and whistles than the extravagant gowns many other girls in this game wear. the hat was ironically the most difficult part to design and went through about twelve iterations before i landed on the sort of french-hood-adjacent veil and cap she has now.
Sylvain is admittedly bragging with this look. while the colours are reasonably cheap to make and maintain, he has so so much cloth and fine fur for the lining of his mantle (worn in the same style as felix's). he has a sword at his waist as a status symbol, but also an emergency dagger stashed up his sleeve just in case. in case of what? he'll never tell.
i opted to make his hair curlier partially because of fashion reasons, and partially because claude in three hopes notes that his own hair is "naturally curly" and his hair is drawn with far straighter lines than sylvain's own. he also gets what my dear friend rk refers to as the "fuckass goatee" because. um. well it's because he reminds me of flynn rider from tangled.
for Ingrid, i wanted to make her outfit practical for message running in cold Faerghus skies. the look i landed on is what i've decided is a variant of the Galatea Pegasus Knight uniform, with a few personal touches to allow for her status. the cloak is a combination of sheepskin leather (wool turned out for warmth) with a weatherproof wool outer layer (the green part) embroidered with the corps' sigil.
i did remove the bows and braids from her hair since right now she's prioritizing practicality, and take away her makeup. i've always been angry that most if not all of the tomboy characters got makeup after the timeskip.
my boy Ashe! his outfit is fun colours, but heavy emphasis on practicality again. i really wanted him to be able to move freely as a skirmisher, hence the shortened coat and small hooded cape. the oak-leaves on his cape clasps are a nod to their meaning in heraldry, which is strength and endurance.
More Freckles For Our Boy.
Annette's design was So Fun to do. she's in the kirtle/overgown combo made famous by the tudors, with decorative girdle and silver embroidery in spades. she also sports a french hood in blue (hark to dominic's true loyalty!) and no fewer than three Crests of Dominic in her jewelry and embroidery (necklace pendant, bodice embroidery, and girdle pendant). the bodice is in a fashionable flat-fronted cone shape, with a super wide neckline that rises slightly in the center (a real-world french style).
Jeritza: First base is ripping each other's throats out.
Jeritza: Second base is fucking and then pretending it didn't happen after it's over.
Jeritza: Third base is falling unconscious from blood loss in the other's arms.
Byleth: Fourth base is talking about your feelings.
