The most “recent” text posts when you click my blog are super depressing (they’re from my breakup in 2016), so here’s a “things are good in 2018” post to balance it out:
-I’m finally in law school, excelling academically, extracurriularly, and in my internships. I have a fancy firm internship next summer in San Francisco, the kind I never would have imagined I could land, and that could turn into a nice fancy lawyer job afterwards.
-I have a supportive social network unlike any I’ve had before; for the first time in my life I have a couple different people I can text “dinner?” to and make spontaneous plans with.
-I’m developing healthy adult boundaries with my family, while also keeping the strong family bond that’s I know I’m incredibly lucky to have. They’ve been largely supportive and helpful and I like being around them.
-I’m in a healthy, supportive relationship with a person who supports and values me while also respecting my independence and professional goals. I’m working through my own codependency issues to make sure I provide an equally healthy environment to foster this relationship.
-I started therapy, which is already doing wonders. My mental health isn’t perfect, but it’s the best it’s ever been and I’m working on making it more consistent.
-I worked hard on my binge eating problem and am down just shy of 30 lbs (through healthy methods-diet, exercise, and improving my self esteem.)
I’ve been in some pretty dark places in my life. I might end up back in those places at some point, I’m not sure. But for now, things are good and I’m grateful.
