if anyone's wondering about the dear john gif (maybe it looks like i'm making fun of her?) - i thought the scene was perfect because it shows how others mocked her for being upset at the time. "you're crying too much" etc but she had every right to cry! so this gif symbolizes not just her childlike innocent self experiencing the pain of his manipulation but also others' mockery of that pain.
