in the 2000s there was a niche little avatar chat game that used dollz and other user uploaded sprites you could move around a jpg background. the chat bubbles popped up over your avatar's head, and you could change the color of the text and bubble. i spent a looooot of time on it, but enough time has passed that i'm not even sure if i remember the name right. iirc it was called onchat

probably wasn't the safest chatroom to be in, but i miss the whole vibe
