What's the point of this blog?

It's a place for us to discuss the various Food Network personalities and their cooking through unserious polls and tournaments.

Why Food Network?

First, why not? Second, Food Network and cooking shows in general are probably 95% of what my wife and I are watching when the TV is on. Some of these might go more broadly into other cooking shows (I can see BGGO or Fox shows like MasterChef and Next Level Chef making an appearance), but when it's the core of television cooking, it made sense to me to use the name.

What's the plan for the first tournament?

We're starting with the Hottest Food Network Chef. I debated separating by gender, but unless we end up with way more submissions than I'm anticipating, the plan is to put them all in one hotness bracket together-- TOC style, if you will.

I would love ideas about tournaments! I have a couple of other possibilities floating around in my head about what we might do, but I'm more interested in what people are interested in! If you have an idea, feel free to send it.

No one has suggested her yet! Very shocking to me as well, so I absolutely encourage you to find a photo of her you find especially hot and submit her here!

Ooo, excellent question!

There's a few regulars that I'm shocked haven't made an appearance. Not necessarily saying I think they are the hottest but am just surprised no one has suggested them: people like Bobby Flay, Guy Fieri, Duff Goldman, Alex Guarnaschelli, etc.

Personally I would love to see contenders like Jonathan Sawyer, Gabe Bertaccini, Lorraine Pascale, Nyesha Arrington (more of a Fox chef, but she did do TOC!), and Stephanie Izard.

Feel free to throw me a bone on some of my favorites or your own preferences here!

I'm up to 16 entries and could make a bracket now. Part of me would love to go up another bracket and have 32 total. I see three options ahead, so...

What's the best course of action?

Run the tournament as is with 16 to be able to start soon

Wait on more competitors to reach 32 eventually

Add some of your own competitor ideas to reach 32 quickly

Go with more than 32 and wait as long as it needs to have a higher number

idk who needs to be told this but "you should eat vegetables regularly" is not diet industry propaganda. the reason you should eat vegetables isn't because they're low calorie or low fat or whatever, it's because they contain vitamins, minerals, dietary fiber, and a whole bunch of other shit that your body needs to live that isn't found in most other foods. you are an omnivore you need a varied diet!!!
