okay i am crashing out about the nails bc really

it’s the softest, most barely there color he could do. and we know our boy loves to have pink with his blue, ofc.

but the fact that it’s so hard to notice makes it feel like it’s more for him than us, or the show, or the look, or whatever else. and i love that so much.

because as much as i loved him painting his nails every night, it became part of the outfit, and therefore part of the image. and while i adore how comfortable he got with something we all know he wasn’t in the early days, ultimately i don’t want it to become something like that. i want his self expression to be as much that, self expression and not curated to be taken in, as possible. it’s a difficult thing to do as an artist in this day and age, surely. so any bit of it that it seems he grabs for himself and decided to enjoy in a personal way instead of turning into part of the statement is especially dear to me.

I see discourse is trending toward extremes again…

Sure, he could take better care of his voice and get some more vocal coaching. He could improve his craft, like anyone. And as fans, I think it’s natural to hope to see him at his very best and to wish he would do some things differently.

But saying he’s given up on his voice? Nonsense. He’s sounded really great on lots of occasions lately - stripped down JHO at AFHF as just one (incredible) example.

He was very obviously nervous today - even in the interview he sounded anxious. These are hard songs to sing, and outside his usual comfort zone.

But if you’re surprised he isn’t the an incredible live vocalist - are you new here? He’s been very open about being self-conscious about that. You’re not telling him anything he doesn’t know if you’re being harsh about it.

Maybe consider some of the reasons he might struggle with singing on his own. Why he loves feeling like he’s in a band. Why he tends to gravitate towards familiar and safe things. And give him some grace when he does something new.

There are a million reasons to love Louis aside from his technical strength as a live singer - his songwriting, his charisma, the unique tone of his voice in spite - or because! - of its imperfection. For me, the fact that he relies on fan support so much during shows is a big part of the appeal. It makes a concert something we are all doing together.

If that’s not what you need as a fan? Totally fine. There are lots of other artists - and at least one other One Direction member - who are big, confident powerhouse singers on stage. Go admire one of them.

But I’ll be here with Louis - always wishing for his best, but understanding he won’t reach that every time. And loving him all the more for it.

I’m so fucking tired of people making it seem like Harry’s had everything handed to him for free. In exchange for being the “chosen one” that gets pushed more to the public, he got sexualized as a kid by adults!!! And that sexualized “womanizer” image they slapped on him still follows him today. The amount of “Harry fans” who say that he’s “a total red flag” when it comes to dating is shocking. He has “fans” who believe he’s a cheater and unwilling to have a proper relationship. So while I’m sure Harry is thankful he’s always been given a chance to be in the spotlight, it came with a price. I highly doubt 16 year old Harry understood how being “the flirt” would alter the way people see him for many years to come. And it must hurt him to see so many people have the wrong perception of him.

I’m sure that’s just one thing on a long list of “privileges” Harry’s gotten over the years. 🙃

Sorry to jump on the post, but this one absolutely SLAYS me. Louis is literally directly in front of the queen, but he’s not looking at the queen because he wants to see Harry meet the queen. Unlike Liam, who’s more diagonally positioned and follows the handshake motion with his eyes, Louis is actively leaning forward over Zayn so he can look at Harry. I’m just ?????? This is SO COUPLEY.
