Love as sacrifice
I’m constantly emotional over yunmeng siblings
There should be like, xianxia fests the way there’s ren faires for everyone to go and dress up in all the elaborate nonsense hanfu from dramas and novels and do fun activities
A redraw a few years too late, it’s John in wonderland again
A quick sketch of abg Wei wuxian au bc I miss drawing her 🥺
Never in my almost 7 years of being a MDZS fan, I would have thought that I will defend Jang Cheng. Once upon a time I used to read fics that portrayed him in a bad light. Don't get me wrong, that man has many many flaws and he has done many things that probably haunt him and others at night. However, people tend to forget that when the actual war happened and the aftermath of it, Jiang Cheng was barely an adult with the responsibility of an entire sect and the legacy of his dead parents. He was under immense pressure. Did he do everything possible he could have done to help his sick and alcoholic brother? No. Because he simply didn't know or he knew and was in denial. Keep in mind that Wei Wuxian didn't tell anyone about his problems. Poor XianXian. That man was going through hell and it was never-ending.
I just think that what happened with Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng was the classic case of 'love was there, it didn't make things better; in fact love made things worse. but it was not their fault. what matters is that the love that there.' Why did Jiang Yanli die? Because she loved her A-Xian. Why was Jin Zixuan there? Because he loved his wife and wanted to see her be happy with brother even if the said brother is a wanted war criminal. Why did Wen Ning protect Wei Wuxian? Because he loved him. Why did Jiang Cheng kill his brother? Because he loved his sister and nephew. He was grieving. Why did Wei Wuxian let Jin Ling stab him? Because he loved his nephew and knew that the boy is the child of his beloved shijie. Why did Lan Wangji take in the last of the Wens? Because he loved Wei Wuxian. The theme of the novel has always been love. The majority of the characters have always been motivated by love and their need to protect their loved ones.
Hi ♡
WWX attempts a hair braid and yaps, LWJ is in love
“Get lost!”
Listen. LISTEN. Wangxian is already so angsty but imagine it sapphic ⚰️
Imagine WWX at his/HER worst, losing such a huge part of herself (her golden core) and taking in all the resentful energy of the burial mounds and literal war, and it changing her. I love the idea of slightly more monstrous WWX
I just realized that many many people have jobs
