Makeup, makeup, makeup!!

I have also been very busy with perfecting my makeup vanity and growing my makeup collection.

Whilst we were in Ireland, Connor treated me to the Nars Sheer Glow foundation and the Nars Radiant Creamy concealer as an early birthday present. I have been going on and on about getting this foundation and it has preceeded my expectations. The colour match is beyond perfect and it makes my skin flawless!

I have also spent some time upgrading my vanity and man am I in love. I am beyond happy with it and I can’t wait to get my new vanity unit.

Such a long time!

I can’t believe the last post I shared with you was when I lost my phone!

I have since been given a pay out by my insurance company which allowed me to to purchase the newer model. I now have a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge which I paid £449 for from cash converters which was brand new, with all the original accessories and protective stickers. The employees had only took the phone out of the box to test it - score!

We have also not long got back from Ireland where Connors dad and his wife live. We had an absolutely fantastic time - as we always do. The long weekend was filled with drinks, amazing food and even better company.

We are very excited to visit again in June when we will be seeing Greenday and spending some time in Dublin which was a very generous Christmas gift.

We have also just returned home from a weekend in Birmingham where we had an early birthday meal for me (yay!) With my dad and my nan. We had a fantastic time although I got a little too drunk.

We are now back home for a week - we have a follow up appointment at the hospital for my previous foot surgery and then we’re back in Birmingham for the weekend to celebrate my actual birthday.

I will, of course, dedicate a post to my birthday celebrations and share the day with you all.

Crazy weekend.

After a crazy weekend, it has become apparent that I have lost my phone! Luckily for me, I have phone insurance with a fast turnaround time so I shouldn't imagine I will be without it for a long time. On top of this, I have another doctors appointment tomorrow due to memory problems which I can only presume have been caused by the previous assault. On another note, I have started wearing makeup again, after about three weeks and boy does it feel good. As part of an outlet, I think I will start filming some makeup tutorials and see how I get on. If I don't get chance to upload another post before Christmas, I hope you all have an amazing Christmas.

Surgeries, assault charges and health updates.

As promised, here is the post regarding my current health status and the reasons behind my lack of daily posts. The last health update was regarding a referral to the breast clinic as I had found a lump. Since going to the clinic and having the necessary tests, I have received the all clear and it has been put down to nothing more than a thicker texture of tissue due to hormonal changes. I had also gone to my abdominal scan appointment where they had trouble seeing my left ovary and there was also some excess liquid. Since the abdominal pain is continuing, I am now awaiting my referral for a laparoscopy, which is an internal camera to have a closer look at my organs.  I have also had my last foot operation (hopefully) which I am recovering nicely and quickly from. I may have to have a minor incision on my right foot to remove the pin that was inserted during the last surgery as it’s been causing some aggravation.  Again, it has become a waiting game for my next referral as I can only presume this will not be completed until the new year. Whilst patiently waiting, my life has appeared to be non stop stress. My foot surgery was completed about three weeks ago now so I’ve been pretty home bound as my mobility is limited until my foot has healed a little more. During this time, actually a week ago today, I was assaulted by a house mate in the house share where I currently live. At first I thought it was a trip to the police and a few days of bruising and swelling, until I looked in the mirror. At that point, it was an immediate trip to A and E as there appeared to be a hole in my face. Seven hours, two hospitals and eleven stitches later and the severity of the case had come to light. This was then followed by a two hour visit at the police station and a whole lot of anxiety and worry as I was still living with this person and had not seen them since. After an outcome that I’m not too pleased with, which is very much out of my control, it appears that it will be a couple years of hoping the scar will become smaller, possible further treatments to reduce the scar tissue and finding a way to trust people again, rather than a couple days of bruising. I am still trying to figure out how I’m feeling about this situation as I’m still in shock that this has even happened. There very well may be more posts on this situation as I think I’m driving my family crazy with the constant talk about it. Just when I’m getting back on track - I find myself falling behind on my daily posts.

So many things have happened that have just been absolutely overwhelming. There will be several posts to come to update you all on my health status as well as the promised post about our trip to the farm!

Yay!

So I finally went to, what I hope is my last doctors appointment for a while, and I finally got my (hopefully last) referral to the hospital which I should expect to receive in the next six weeks. Although..I did miss a call from the doctors whilst I was making my way home about some tests they were completing - let's hope this is an all clear phone call! Hopefully I should be healed enough after my surgery to attend this appointment as it is quite a serious one. Just one more step to finding an answer - I'm hoping this will relieve some stress as I have been fighting a cold for about 6 or 7 weeks now. Successfully on the road to recovery!

Finally!

After an amazing weekend, we returned home today to find my referral for my abdominal scan - just two weeks and we will be a step closer to finding out what’s going on with my body.

Another doctors appointment later this week,hopefully for another referral, for my other ongoing issue.

And then three weeks until my foot surgery!

It’s all happening in the next few weeks. And on top of that, ALL of my wisdom teeth have decided to have a big push through, all in one go. Hello jaw ache!

Successful birthday!

Well, Connors birthday weekend has unfortunately come to an end - but I have to say, it has been pretty amazing.

To start the day off we went to Toby Carvery with my mother and stuffed ourselves to the brim with all you can eat breakfast.

After that, we went straight to Hoo Farm, signed in for our experience day due to start at 1:00pm and explored all the animals at the farm. The experience was absolutely amazing - we are planning to go again very soon.

This was all very tiring, so by the time we arrived back at my grandads in Birmingham - we had worked up quite an appetite..but this was very quickly pushed to the back of our minds when we spontaneously decided to go out dancing for the night!

All in all, Connors birthday was an absolute success - he can’t thank me enough for an amazing weekend - and on the plus side, we have lots of cake, yum!

Happy Birthday Mr!

So today is my Connors birthday! I have arranged for us to have a ‘zoo keeper for the day’ experience at Hoo Farm in Telford. We’ll spend half the day admiring all the animals they hold (they have otters, score!) and the other half of the day getting up close and personal.

We’ll have the opportunity to pet servals, meerkats, lemurs, owls, reptiles, hedgehogs and most importantly, we’ll be bathing and feeding a giant tortoise. Of course, this is the part Connor is mostly looking forward to as he absolutely loves turtles and tortoises.

After that, we’ll be travelling down to Birmingham to spend the night with my family, eat yummy takeout and watch movies.

We're both very excited and have been looking forward to this for weeks. Hence why I am up at 5am writing this instead of being asleep.

Been gone for a while..

Well, it feels like forever since I’ve made a post on my blog. From having my foot surgery, to several doctors appointments in the past month, it feels like all my energy has been sucked up.

The foot surgery went well, the results are absolutely fantastic and I should think so for the pain that came with it. I’m now scheduled for my next foot to be operated on - this is happening on the 14th November. Although I don’t think I’m mentally prepared for this one as the two surgeries completed on my right foot will be completed in one go on my left foot - this means even more pain. Luckily for me, I usually leave the hospital with some hefty painkillers - score!

Along with the supreme pain, my surgery also brought underlying problems to the surface. Shortly after my surgery (a few days), I found myself taking a trip to A and E to seek medical assistance for a blood clot that had appeared - this is solely due to the surgery.

Although the moderate to severe abdominal pain that I’ve been experiencing since my surgery, appears to be either an underlying problem that has come to light or a massive coincidence. After nine doctors appointments and three courses of antibiotics in the past month, last Friday, my doctor finally decided to refer me for an abdominal scan. I am currently awaiting that appointment with yet another doctors appointment scheduled on Monday. Yay! I’m definitely starting to feel like I should set up camp at my doctors.

Since I’m awaiting confirmation as to whether my symptoms are leading to something more serious, I figured picking up on my blog would take my mind off the stress that comes with being patient.

I’ve got my list of topics at the ready and nothing but time.

My holy grail skin care

I’ve decided to start by sharing reviews and recommendations on here before diving into the YouTube world. After my last blog post, I decided to tell myself to go for it, so here I am!

Today I’ve decided to share with you my skin care products that I absolutely live for at the moment. I used to use Tea Tree skin care products but I recently decided to invest a little more money into products that will make my skin as soft as a baby’s bum and boy, am I glad I did!

I have now absolutely fallen in love with the No7 skin care range, as well as their makeup, but that’s a subject for another post! The above products get me through my daily skin routine as well as a treatment 1 - 2 times a week.

I use the No7 Day Cream when I wake up in the morning to give my skin a bit of moisture and provide the perfect base for my makeup application. This cream also has SPF 15 which protects my beautiful skin from any harsh sunlight.

This particular line is for normal/dry skin as I do suffer from dry areas - especially around my forehead.

After a day of wearing makeup and looking fabulous, I use the No7 Cleansing Oil to remove my makeup. I used to use baby wipes/makeup wipes until I was informed that these dry your face out (not what I want!)

I simply use one or two pumps and massage the oil around my face, if I’ve completed a look that requires heavier eye makeup, I use an extra pump on my eyes to ensure all the residue and mascara has been removed.

You can also use hot water on top of this which will turn the oil into a creamy consistency rather than an oil. 

This product basically dissolves and removes the makeup from your pores, whilst leaving your skin hydrated. After massaging the product in and leaving for a few minutes, you just rinse with warm water and dry. Tada - clean, soft skin. It’s brilliant, I know.

After I have removed all my makeup, I will use the No7 Dark Circle Corrector as I do suffer with purple/brown circles under my eyes - not pretty. I’ve noticed this product also helps reduce the puffiness and appearance of ‘'eye bags’. 

After that is applied, I apply my No7 Night Cream all over and settle down for bed! I have to say that my skin is looking the healthiest and feels the softest that it’s ever felt. I love these skincare products! 

On the days where I feel like having a pamper I use this No7 Hydration Mask which I use once or twice a week. This is one of the best face masks that I’ve come across and it leaves my skin feeling hydrated and soft for days after use.

If you do not currently own any No7 skin care products, I would highly recommend going straight to the shop and purchasing them.

Late night thoughts (and in need of help!)

Or is it early morning? Who knows. But I figured it is a perfect opportunity to share a goal of mine - regardless of the time!

As well as becoming an established blogger, I’ve always wanted to get into vlogging and have a distinguished YouTube channel. I’d very much love to really get stuck into beauty, perfect unique looks and share tutorials with all of you!

Since I love spending time on my makeup and coming up with new combinations, I figured this would be right up my street.

And looking at the way bigger picture, I would love to create my own cosmetic line in the near future.

But the question is, where do I start? 

Do I start posting videos on a weekly, fort-nightly or monthly basis? Do I post them here on tumblr? Do I just start a YouTube channel and crack on?

So many questions and I have no idea who to go to for advice. 

I have already started building my cosmetic collection and contemplated posting a few review videos on my favourite brands to use and my reasoning why.

Can’t someone just tell me to go for it?

Just a little note

I’m up early - why..?

I’ve just had a very precise train of thoughts which has lead to me wanting to say that I think every one deserves someone that thinks the absolute world of them. No, it might not seem that you’ll find someone and no, it might not be the first person you come across. 

 But don’t settle for anything less than someone who will treat you like the only person in the world and someone who only wants to see a smile on your gorgeous face. 

Keep holding on - that person is waiting for you too ❤️

Motivation!

So, I was sitting here thinking of some crafty things I could do around our room. Since we are currently living in a house share until we move into our own house, I’m limited on DIY things I can do without over cluttering our space…until I get my own craft room, of course!

I thought that my current makeup vanity area could do with a little personalisation and motivational quotes for me when I’m getting ready. Since no person in the world can say that they are 100% happy with themselves every time they look in the mirror, I thought this would be a good way to keep my chin up on the days where I’m not feeling my complete best.

I’m currently using an IKEA Malm three drawer set to hold my makeup, bathroom toiletries and hair products until I can fully decide on a new makeup set up. 

When I purchased the drawers, I also bought the top glass to prevent any scratches or staining on the furniture top itself, and boy am I so glad I did!

It turns out that you can write with sharpie on this and it just wipes away when wet, perfect for when I want to change my quotes around!

I’ve gone with three quotes that fill either side of the glass but leave a space iin the middle for me to place my mirror and makeup in use, etc. And this has turned out pretty amazing, I thought I just have to share with you!

 This one is on the top left corner of the glass, near my face products and makeup brush holder.

This one is just underneath the one above. The writing quality looks shocking on this image but trying to find an angle without huge glare proved difficult.

Then this one, which is probably my favourite, fills the right hand side perfectly. It really ties in nicely as I have also written some shorter quotes in the same colour scheme on the mirror that permanently sits on these drawers, which I will try to take images of as soon as I figure out the best way!

I just thought I’d share this with you as I’m really quite proud of the turnout and the idea that came from no where. 

Just a five minute task to spruce up your every day furniture.

Fairy tales exist

I know I’m cutting it close to get my daily post in today, but I still have twenty minutes before 12:00! 

So here I am, experiencing another sleepness night and I’m feeling rather nostalgic. Do you remember as a child, when you read the fairy tales about princesses finding their prince charming and living happily ever after? As cliche as it sounds, this appears to be how my life is going.

After a really really shitty previous relationship, I didn’t really think I could find someone as amazing as the man that I am currently sharing my life with. We have only been together for a short amount of time but it feels like I have known him for years.

On my days where I’m not feeling 100% he does anything within his will power to make me feel on top of the world. He makes me the happiest I have been in a long long time. From being made redundant to losing a family member, he has been there for me through it all and never once batted an eyelid at the thought of just holding me and watching movies until the tears and stress slowly fade away.

He genuinely, has the biggest heart that I’ve ever come across and he gives so much to people and some quite frankly, don’t deserve it. People that don’t have the pleasure of meeting this man, are very much missing out and the people that once decided not to be in his life, you made a huge mistake my friend.

For me to say that it’s taking all of me not to jump around and brag about the fact that I get to share every day with him, is a huge understatement. I could happily write ten thousand pages about this man and the way he makes me feel but I don’t want to bore you!

At the end of the day, there is no one else in this entire world that I would rather wake up to, or spend the rest of my days with. And I completely hope that you all get to feel this way at least once in your life because this, my friends, is true love.
