JF: well, thanks! To be candid I'm just trying to sing it like a real singer. In pitch and with some power. Like a lot of self-taught performers, there is a fair bit of imposter syndrome rolling around in the back of my head, so having a piece of material like that is a challenge. I don't want to pretend it isn't a "big" vocal, but I am always a bit nervous about delivering it.

JF: as you may know, I am on TikTok at FlansyFlans, and TMBG has a feed at tmbgofficial. I also watch TikTok, and my algorithms have stirred my nascent interest in antique watches. I ended up getting shown videos by this fellow Andy who tracks people showing (and sometimes showing off) their watch collections "without their permission" as he says. Although the format kinda invites cruelty, he remains surprisingly positive. This is a video I made hoping to have him rate my (imaginary) watch collection--essentially riffing on the unique terminology of this watch collector world, but I fear he didn't take it in the spirit it was posted. (Hard to know but he posts daily and has definitely not replied).

So, in hoping it can find another audience, I am posting it here. #andyswatches #flansyflans

TMBG MANDELA EFFECT!

Ok, I don't think it counts as a Mandela Effect when it's just one random guy misremebering something but I will swear on my immortal soul that I used to hear the king of liars line in the studio version of Road Movie to Berlin. I don't even listen to live versions so the only explanation I can think of is that I read the lyrics and imagined it 😅.

Still, it's such a cool line, is there any particular reason you didn't include it?

JF: So I believe I left out a verse by accident when recording it (nerves I guess) but it was discovered before the album came out so we included the full lyric in the printed materials...
