willmack leviticus au with both of them still being nhl players. they're staying in boston during the off-season, they're somehow together, they didn't have the talk yet but they're getting there, slowly. will's mum walks in on them and first, she looks shocked and surprised that she just saw her perfect golden boy kissing another boy. however, it looks like she took it well. later that day, she takes them to the church to pray. mack feels icky about it but he goes with them. inside the church, the deliverance healer is waiting for them.

after the ritual, both of them are confused. mack is angry and will feels guilty, his cross heavy around his neck. they start to see the entity, slowly figuring out what is happening. they're terrified, not knowing what's real and what's not. they ask will's mum but she refuses to help them. it's obvious that she knows what's happening but she states that they deserve it for acting on their unholy desires.

not knowing what to do, they call toff, the only other person they could think about to help them, they pack their things and fly back to san jose. they're unable to make the entity disappear, figuring a way how to live with it, making sure they're never alone.

forever thinking about the theory that Ryan and Naim DID actually see each other in the forest while naim was running away from entity Ryan and Ryan was (presumably) doing the same. Their timelines seem pretty adjacent in the lead up to meeting at the bus stop because they seem really tired, as if they both hadn’t slept that night while running away from the entity.

The fact that Ryan throws the rock as well just seems so off for entity Ryan, because the real Ryan had never thrown rocks at Naim before and so it seems more like an attempt at self-defence to entity Naim.

It’s so heart wrenching when you realise that omg this is the POINT. This is the point of the movie that they are so blinded by their fear that they attempt to hurt the ones they love most— they FEAR the ones they love most, unable to disconnect the fear of the being from the feelings towards the beings.

That small point of confusion as well— when they both pause to think wait- it might actually be you- until Ryan throws the rock, because HE is the one who was always the bravest and the one that risked it all to show his goal: kissing Naim, putting his hand on his back, touching him on the bus, etc. while in this moment this manifests itself into deciding against this bravery and going all out with fear— hence throwing the rock before risking Naim being the entity despite doubts he may have had.

This, inherently, being what the curse wanted in making them fear each other so much that if the entity didn’t kill them the real ones might.

just saw leviticus for the second time and yup it's still so fucking good. maybe even better bc this time i was able to pick out all the little details and theories <3

(also i saw it in a little theatre which shows mostly movies for older people and there were literally no commercials or trailers before the movie started. the lights turned off and the movie started. just like that. fascinating. im definitely checking their program from now on)

"entity ryan lowkey seemed like it actually wanted naim LOL" yeah bc it's supposed to.. entity ryan panting like a dog, tongue wetting his lips, eyes blown and heavy lidded as it chokes naim, forcing his way into his mouth. how violating is that for naim? to see ryan's face as he's hurt, and have him look like he's getting off on it? the entity isn't just violent it's sexually violent, bc encounters with it are designed to be traumatising. the entity's attacks are sexually charged so that queer kids associate desire with harm, and fear it.

i think the only kind of codywan i find realistic enough to be interested in is GLACIAL slow burn. they take like three weeks to fit together like cogs made to turn each other and they spend the rest of the three years of the war so instinctually and comfortably in each others space that they forget they haven’t known each other for their entire lives. they act beyond like a married couple and neither one of them ever notices it whatsoever. everyone but them can see it.

obi wan calls cody dear all the time, is always getting him new foods and drinks to try, and even teaches him how to perform basic lightsaber moves since he ends up with the thing so often and might as well know how to use it if the need ever arises, and and neither of them thinks a thing of it. cody mentally catalogues and ranks all of obi wans favorite teas and how to make them, comes to be able to tell when obi wan needs food or rest or a medic and knows just what to say to get him to attend to it, and gets that godforsaken lightsaber clip on his belt and its just another day for them. and when people see all of this and point out that evidence is adding up to either one of them they both are completely genuine when they say, i have no idea what you’re talking about. no one else is doing these things with their general or marshal commander? laughable idea.

i think they would need that post war break in some form whether it follows order 66 or its an AU where it somehow is averted. i think they would need to be faced with the idea of living lives much further removed from each other to finally see it for themselves. and of course for so many reasons both of them would just bury it deep down in the absolute recesses of their heart and mind because it doesn’t matter, and it never has. and they would need to be literally forced back together to be able to address it. and things would have to be different. but once they do address it, it’s like… there’s no real nervousness. there’s hesitance, because once it’s said it can’t be unsaid, but. it’s just putting words to something that’s already there, that’s been there since the beginning. it just feels natural, not even like a next step, just… how it’s supposed to be. with each of them by the other’s side, whatever may come.

and i think it would work because i think they both truly would hold the other to their obligations and responsibilities. they love each other but they’re both level headed, especially with each other, so it follows that they are about each other, too. in the same way that it always had to be that anakin and padme would break the rules and put each other first when they shouldn’t and it causes problems, obi wan and cody both know that the other would be so irreversibly shattered and disappointed to be put over the greater good that they both keep their heads. their relationship is built on understanding and mutual respect for the way the other is committed to all those around them. there’s no jealousy, no possessiveness, no need to prove anything or have anything proven to them, because they’ve always come back to each other before and they always will if it’s right
