@fortunedulyblest is an independent, semi-selective, multi-muse, cross-over friendly roleplay blog for Cult of the Lamb. This blog is 18+/nsfw, containing themes of canon-typical gore and violence & depictions of cults and religion. DARK THEMES are going to be common on this blog.
I desperately want to see book hiccup and movie hiccup in each other's stories. Because theyre so similar but they have such wildly different strengths and truly I think it would be amazing
Book Hiccup is a great hero because of his EMPATHY. No matter what, he is always kind. He learns the language of the dragons. He takes time to befriend the microdragons, and they save his ass. He stops to help dragons out of traps. He treats this tiny little runt of a dragon like an actual person, and the little thing literally takes a MISSILE to the FUCKING CHEST for him.
Movie Hiccup's greatest strength is his CURIOUSITY. He approaches thing scientifically. While he is incredibly empathetic in the same way that book hiccup is still incredibly curious, he is motivated by exploration and a desire to understand. It's what helps him tame Toothless, then teach the other dragon riders. Exploration is what helps him do and be.
Movie Hiccup would have discovered the prophecy and gathered all the items to become king in record time, simply because he wanted to know what it would entail. Book Hiccup would have talked the Red Death off the ledge and promised to protect the nest. They would both kick ass in one another's stories, which is why I think it's amazing that they are each in the stories that they are.
Because in the books, we learn that there will always be cruelty, nad the best thing you can do is be kind.
And in the movies, we learn that there will always be those who are ignorant, and the best thing you can do it strive to understand.
Rough scene storyboards that I do not have the motivation to clean up so I'm dumping them here. Still not feeling good about my art lately I can't even get past the sketchy phase anymore lmao
So people like to give the lambâs bell some cultural meaning unique to them, but i don't think ive seen anyone mention a bellwether.
A bellwether is the sheep who the shepard puts a bell on so they always knows where the flock is. Where they go the rest of the sheep will follow, so its more or less marking the leader of the flock.
(We are going to ignore the etymology where the wether part refers to the ram/goat being castrated, as that is because sheeps tend to form herds with one male and many female sheep and farmers need to control flock populations.)
Narinder (Shamura for goat) knows enough about to sheep to mark them with a bell to denote leadership. And thats kinda cute.
it's okay to just write with one or two muses! especially when there are a lot of muses, it can be overwhelming. pick one or two that you and your writing partner will focus on developing more. these will be your Main Guys. it doesn't mean you'll ignore everyone else, but it will help give some focus. nobody is expecting you to write with every single muse on a multi
send in headcanon question asks for characters that you are not writing/plotting with as well. pick a character that the mun writes frequently, or one that you know NOTHING about and send in random questions for headcanon memes when they come up. they don't have to be characters that you want to/plan on writing with, but branch out and give the mun a chance to write about their less-loved muses
give options. if you haven't plotted yet or aren't sure who you want to write with, or just can't decide, list a few possible character options that you may want a meme or starter to be for. meet your writing partner halfway
utilize your drafts as a bookmark. see a memes list on your dash but don't have the time/energy to pick different muses to send prompts for? save the memes to your drafts and come back to it in a few hours or days when you have more spoons
be open to learning! multi-muses give the chance to discover all new characters and dynamics that you might not otherwise consider or know about. learning about new muses is one of the best things about the rpc and shifting your attitude to just be not only open to, but also excited about, learning about your friends' creations can make the rpc a much more fun place
remember that multis overall get less attention. so put in extra effort interacting with their posts so that they know they're loved just as much as solo blogs!
multi-muses have and always will be a staple part of the rpc and it's past time that we start focusing on them as we should. yes it can be difficult and overwhelming at times, but it's also worth the effort to interact and to learn about the muses featured on multi-muses. don't ignore our friends in the rpc just because you have to spend a few extra words to specify a muse.
Suddenly, realizing I see a suspicious lack of Shamura art for rehabilitation of death, and it makes me uneasy and sad.
There's a lack of Kallamar art until we entered the Plague Arc in fic and that's for a good reason
There's Shamura art, don't worry :) A lot of what I've drawn with Shamura though has some Major Spoilers in the comic wips and concept scene planning comics that I cannot post, so (unless you're like, a patreon and have seen some things already) you won't see a lot of Shamura until it's Time
Shamura is gonna play a big role in something Later On I prommy. Just not yet, not for a while :) take this doodle
If you're doing the bishops ask game, 2, 9 and 11?
50 Questions About the Bishops
2. Which sibling was the most protective growing up?
Shamura was the most protective growing up. They had no family most of their childhood; it was only in their teenage years that they met first Narinder, and then Kallamar. Narinder, Heket, and Leshy were all raised by Shamura, putting them under Shamuraâs protection by default- they took this very seriously. Kallamar was closer in age to Shamura, being their good friend before finally earning the title brother- and Shamura was loathe to let anyone harm their first friend.
More on this can be found in my fic, Beginning of the Siblings Five.
9. Describe one or all of the Bishopâs unique traits.
Shamura - Born female, with blue fuzz. They started dying it purple as a young adult, trying to be taken seriously (going from the female coloring to the male coloring of the tarantula they are based on.) They started ascending long before being Crowned, with their original domains being War for Protection and Knowledge for Education; their domains expanded with every other god of war or knowledge slain, now encompassing All War and All Knowledge (and Peace, and Wisdom). They have visions that they have limited control over.
Kallamar - Born the son of a high-ranking priest, and ascended after leaving home. He has bioluminescent spots he can control the placement, color, and brightness of, and tends to subconsciously use chromatophores to communicate nonverbally. After losing his hearing he had little trouble in his own domain, where communicating with light patterns was common. He is Cure as well as Pestilence and before Narinderâs sealing had the healthiest followers. His followers tend to be especially zealous and the least likely to worship the whole pantheon. He erased Narinderâs being from books.
Narinder - Shamuraâs first sibling, found abandoned in their web as a kitten. He was a long-haired nekomata (two-tailed demon cat) possessing a third eye. At the age of three he became deathly ill, and barely survived illness while Shamura and Kallamar tried their best to keep him healthy with no resources and no permanent home. As a result his fur is extremely patchy, mostly limited to his body and mostly absent on his face, tail, and limbs, causing him to look like a sphinx. His voice was badly damaged by the illness so he speaks with a horrible rasp. Narinder will never admit it, but he has a habit of adopting that he picked up from Shamura.
Heket - The second-youngest of the Bishops but easily the most vicious. She can secrete a poisonous mucus. Even as a child she was always hungry. When Narinder introduced her to Shamura. She tried to eat their arm. She is more physically powerful than Kallamar and Leshy, and has a strong personality that led to her taking over Shamuraâs role of caring for the other siblings after their head injury. She once had a beautiful voice, and is very cross at Narinder for ruining it. She can freely grow crows at will, being Plenty as well as Famine. She banned Narinderâs name.
Leshy - The youngest sibling. Leshy was quite literally fished off of a battlefield by Shamura as a toddler, where he had been running around causing chaos. He was still a young child when Shamura ascended. His branches grow pink and yellow flowers when he is content, and he puts a surprising amount of Order into his Chaos. Before Narinder was sealed, Leshy had five eyes and a wide field of vision; now he gets by using the same senses that let him burrow underground. Narinder was his favorite sibling, and Leshy had almost as many statues of Narinder in Darkwood as there were of himself; all of them were gone. He banned imagery of Narinder.
11. What is each Bishopâs favorite food?
Leshyâs favorite food is berries. However, he cannot eat too many since he is carnivorous.
Heketâs favorite food is bread made by Narinder. She will eat anything- but her favorite is that bread.
Narinderâs favorite food is cream; Shamura used to sneak them some as a child, even though Kallamar said it was bad for cats.
Kallamarâs favorite food is any dessert. They are fancy, expensive, often beautiful- suiting Kallamarâs tastes.
Shamura⊠well. They grew up on the streets, and had to obtain food the way a feral spider would. They prefer to catch live prey⊠and while they do not indulge often, they will admit their favorite is âsnacksâ filled with devotion provided by a specific sect of their cultâŠ
(Shamuraâs cult included a group of followers who compete with each other to become a meal for their God; alas, it was long gone by the time of the Lambâs First DeathâŠ)
The world darkened as all the Observers took their places, creating a triangle with the visitors as the center. The world darkened- then flicked to life.
Hundreds of Gods. From adult to Infant. True forms, mortal forms, fighting in a free-for-all. Weapons lodged in the ground, crowns lying shattered.
Clauneck started, âAt the beginning of the war, there were hundreds Crowned by Sister Chemach, and the Void left by our parentsâ deaths. But gods are not easy to kill when fully powered and facing a known threat.â
A giant tree erupted from the ground, formes of many screaming faces and jagged teeth. A crazed laugh crossed the battlefield. Leshy in his true form- the youngest of the gods- was a worm and more, surrounded by roaring fires and explosions, devouring all in his path.
He of Havoc. An unknown voice whispered across the scene as gods fled from Chaosâs Maw.
The scene changed. A settlement- then another- and another- sick lying in the street, the dead piled in carts. A plague lives here.
A squid in bronze and gold robes stares coldly at a rival godâs banner as a dark crystal of wrong is dropped into another well. An attack directly at the devotion being received by that god, and a distraction. Duty before battle. Another god removed from play for a while, and weakened by pestilence killing off followers in the meantime. Kallamar vanishes in a dark portal as the first follower drinks from the tainted well.
He of Blight. The unknown voice says again.
Another scene. The song of locust swarms. Fields of crops devoured. More towns. Emaciated people. A child, begging for food, falls at the feet of a red frog. The local god attacks- and is swallowed by the âeldritchâ amphibian. This happens again and again. Some villages of followers devoured alive by Heket.
She of Hunger.
The scene shifts yet again. A dungeon, next. Two gods wearing their own symbols and that of a blazing crown were tied to tables. The cold, calculating face of Shamura stared down at them as a torture session began. Even after answers were taken in continued, glee in dark eyes as pain was caused to the pair- a switch to a battlefield with gods and followers caught in silk webs, an axe falling on another god, spilling ichor and severing an arm that simply reformed. The spider's grin is feral as the battle resumes.
They of Might.
And again- Narinder and Shamura back-to-back in battle. Someone almost scores a lucky blow on Shamura and is stabbed through ear-to-ear by a thin chain of ichor with a pointed tip. Another almost catches Narinder and their eyes glow purple before their head implodes. Shamura sags in place, exhausted by the effort.
Another blow aimed at Shamura- and this one, with that same flaming purple crown symbol, is caught in a loving embrace from behind. Narinder tenderly rubs his cheek against the attacking god, who struggles and screams and rots alive. Lights in the eyes of the skull that tumbles to the ground shows what Narinder has done. This one is Dead. But there is no After for them. Death has denied them interest. Other skulls throughout the battlefield show that same light as the sun sets.
He that Lays a Soul to Rest.
Once more the scene changes. Slowly the numbers drop. A green Snake hangs in chains. Their Crown's eye is missing. They speak to a stone tablet as if reciting it.
I am shamed, shamed. I deserve no forgiveness. I deserve to die here, shrouded in sin. I renounced the First Gods. How easily pain made a defector of me.
A door creaks open, revealing Shamura making their way into the chamber, holding a bloodied sword made of the Purple Crown.
I will take whatever punishment is due, but I beg of you, reader of these chronicles, remember: they call their faith old, but they are nothing more than heretics.
Again the air shudders. Showing each Bishop in turn.
He of Havoc, He of Blight; She of Hunger, They of Might. He that Lays a Soul to Rest.
Shamura's group is shrinking. Ten. Nine. Eight. Seven. Six.
A grinning god with a crown with an icy eye, a snow leopard, is cut down and burned to dust by a much older god in purple armor, eyes mad with rage, crown aflame.
A hundred gods surround the siblings. Shamura's hands curl into fists. Their crown glows. Their form stutters. The eyes of a hundred gods turn the same purple as Shamura's eyes as a hundred of infinite hands touch their minds. Each god captured struggles, some more effectively than others, as their weapons are raised to their necks. One by one the hundreds of gods fall. Heads sliced off then imploded. The large god who killed Shamura's best friend falls last, and Shamura collapses back into mortal form, falling to the ground unconscious with ichor streaming from eyes and mouth and wounds alike.
Five remain of hundreds blessed.
The scene goes black, but the vision does not end.
Slowly light filters back in and the final scene is shown. Five gods in a grave yard. Each marker is new, a candle lit before each one. Each one with a different Crown carved into it. Truthâs Crown. The Crown of the leopard. That of the snake that they likely killed. The ones struck down by Narinder, devoured by Heket, starved by Kallamar, shredded by Leshy...
"On this day we remember those lost to the Divine War," Narinder's raspy voice echoed across the graveyard as pyreflies rose from and flew between the graves and into a vast expanse of white light in the sky, "We grant them passage to the After and what waits for them beyond it. The war was not necessary. This world in need of many pillars is supported now by the last standing of the Old Faith."
The scene began to darken, "We did not start the war, but we ended it. All shall be remembered. It may be the nature of beasts to forget and Gods to be forgotten... But we vow not to forget those fallen."
Shamura's soft hissing voice followed the funerary rites, "Until this world ends... we carry the sins of our actions... and our memories of all of you..."
The vision went black once more and faded away, leaving the Observers standing in the Fortune Tellerâs tent with much to think about.
This has been on my mind for long but Iâm gonna do this - please reblog this if youâre comfortable with pre-establishing relationships. I do not mean âmet at the grocery store two weeks agoâ or âhave a common friendâ, but rather stuff like âhave been best friends since kindergrdenâ, âgo for a beer every fridayâ, âfriends with benefitsâ, âdated in highschoolâ, âhate each otherâs guts because -insert reason-â  etc. Something meaningful (but not necessarily shippy) and I mean with muns/characters you have not interacted with, because I cannot believe I am the only one who prefers jumping right into the heart of the human interaction.
I really wanted an ask game similar to the Lamb and Narinder one for the Goat. I love hearing about everyoneâs head cannons for these characters and I wanted to see more of peopleâs version of the Goat! Of course, I took inspiration from @transtisticâs Lamb questions, so some questions may be the same or similar, but I think theyâre great questions for the Goat too!
Remember to have fun with this and I hope you guys enjoy!
