A Macro Floral Vision by Wayne S. Grazio Via Flickr: Soft, surreal, and glowing with life—a floral vision like no other.
Rock Rose in Full Bloom with Vibrant Pink Petals by Wayne S. Grazio Via Flickr: Meet the resilient beauty of the Mediterranean—the Rock Rose! With its vibrant pink petals and striking red-yellow center, this flower thrives in rocky terrains and sunny gardens.
Etched in Time: A Lizard’s Tale by Wayne S. Grazio Via Flickr: This digital photo manipulation transforms a Florida Bush Lizard into a striking, fresco-like composition. The textured overlay gives it an aged, painterly feel, blending realism with artistic abstraction. Contrasting wall tones naturally frame the subject, enhancing its presence and inviting viewers to see nature as art.
Flames of the Tropics by Wayne S. Grazio Via Flickr: A vibrant cluster of Peacock Flowers (Caesalpinia pulcherrima) bursts into fiery bloom, bringing tropical elegance to the lush landscapes of Baguio, Philippines.
Pilgrimage of Metal: Guardian of the Anza Borrego Desert by Wayne S. Grazio Via Flickr: A striking metal sculpture of a cloaked pilgrim bearing a cross and a faithful companion stands solemnly in the vast Anza Borrego Desert. Framed by rugged mountains and under an expansive, blue sky, the artwork’s rusted patina echoes the harsh and timeless beauty of the landscape. While the sculpture brings a sense of narrative and spiritual symbolism to the scene, the bold, man-made figure disrupts the untouched serenity of the desert, inviting viewers to reflect on humanity's place within this natural expanse. This metal art piece is part of the Galleta Meadows Sculptures in Borrego Springs, California, created by artist Ricardo Breceda. The sculpture you’re seeing is titled "Juan Bautista de Anza" and depicts a Spanish explorer with a cross, symbolizing his historic expedition through the region in the 18th century.
Misty Dawn: Sunrise Over Lopez Ridge by Wayne S. Grazio Via Flickr: A breathtaking digital photograph captures the serene beauty of a sunrise as it bathes Lopez Ridge in Los Peñasquitos Canyon Reserve, Mira Mesa, San Diego, California, with warm hues. The rising sun pierces through the morning fog, creating a mystical atmosphere over the tranquil landscape.
Emerald Mounds: The Chocolate Hills of Bohol by Wayne S. Grazio Via Flickr: A breathtaking panorama showcasing the unique geological formation of over 1,200 symmetrical hills spread over an area of more than 50 square kilometers. These natural wonders, named the Chocolate Hills for their brown color during the dry season, are clothed in vibrant green grass against a dynamic sky, creating a stunning contrast that captivates and enchants.
Harvest Palette: Gourds and Pumpkins Still Life by Wayne S. Grazio Via Flickr: A vibrant display of autumn's harvest, featuring an array of pumpkins and gourds arranged on a bed of straw. This still life captures the essence of the fall season with its rich textures and colors, complete with some natural cobwebs.
Ancient Giant: The 400-Year-Old Balete Tree of Siquijor by Wayne S. Grazio Via Flickr: The balete tree is deeply ingrained in the culture and folklore of Siquijor, Visayas, The Philippines. It is believed that the tree is the dwelling place of supernatural beings such as the white lady and horse demons. The locals also believe that the tree has healing powers and can cure illnesses.
Mission Bay Sunset: A Tree’s Silhouette by Wayne S. Grazio Via Flickr: In the embrace of a coastal bay, a young tree flourishes, its leaves catching the last rays of the sun. It stands alone, yet unyielding, a symbol of new beginnings and the boundless potential that each day holds. Mission Bay, San Diego, California, USA
Mangroves and Climate Change by Wayne S. Grazio Via Flickr: Mangroves are the coastal defense against rising seas in many parts of the world. These ecosystems need to be healthy if they are to survive and defend the coastal communities. This image of two mangrove greens facing the approaching waves hits this theme for me.
Venice interior panorama by Wayne S. Grazio Via Flickr: Inside a section of the Venetian Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - panorama.
The Approaching Fog by Wayne S. Grazio Via Flickr: A low-key image of a digital photo I took one foggy morning from across Los Penasquitos Canyon Reserve, Lopez Ridge, Mira Mesa, San Diego, California, USA.
Huutat (Lemonade Berry) flowers by Wayne S. Grazio Via Flickr: The lemonade berry is a small shrubby tree. The plant is native to the coastal range of southern California and Baja California. This tree can grow up to 25 feet in height and is a common member of the chaparral plant community. The Kumeyaay Indians used tangy huutat berries to flavor their tea. The berries are soaked in water to provide flavor and they’re also eaten fresh. The seeds from these berries are ground up and combined with this tangy drink. A wad of lemonade berries can also be placed in the mouth as a means to keep thirst at bay during long hikes under the sun. The bark of this tree is used in a tea after childbirth.
Love is in the air by Wayne S. Grazio Via Flickr: As the gentle breeze caresses the tender grass seedlings, they sway in a graceful dance of life. Some will find their life in the fertile soil, while others will drift away into the unknown. But for this fleeting moment, they are all united with a pink hue of love.
