21: Uh, Hi? Are you one of the void-nomad merchants or something?

“I have no idea what you’re talking about, I was just trying to visit another universe. Wait, if I’m here then the MUTA must’ve broke and I’m trapped in literal nowhere.”

21: Oh, another universe traveler. You would probably be good friends with the ferret that hangs around our place. The name is 21, what’s yours?

[She has the slightest, smirk on her expression.]

“Dr. Shepard, Adrian Shepard.”

21: So..Where do you come from? What is your universe like?

[21′s left eye sparks a purple flame for a moment and there is a flash of light behind Dr.Shepard.]

“Fairly normal with a bit of ‘what the fuck why is there a moving statue that kills people’ sort of thing.”

21: Moving statues? I’ll have to see that some day. [A water balloon falls on the visitor, popping and splashing water all over him. Oddly not a single drop landed on 21, she snickers.]

21: Whattt, I didn’t do it! [She has a huge smirk on her face and small horns growing her head now. She definitely did it.]

“I’m going to assume otherwise by the horns. So uh, how’s your weekend going?”

[her smirk becomes more of a frown. She was just trying to have a little fun, oh well. She decides to go along with Adrian’s small talk.]

21: I don’t go by time in the void to be honest. There isn’t any definite form of “time” around here unless you look in code.

[there is a rustling noise in one of the rooms in the lab, a slight snicker can be heard that echoes throughout the lab. A shadow can be seen moving about in the room, but it is too dark to make out who it is.]

[Would you like to investigate the matter?]

42: Pretty empty around here… and wheres 21? [42 Casually examines the lab and looks through his many monitors in front of him. Nothing interesting seemed to be happening and there was no sign of 21, even if some of the monitors were malfunctioning.]

“Looking For Someone?” Beta looks past 42 at the monitors. How he got there remains a mystery.

[42 is spooked by the sudden appearance of a guest and jumps in his seat, almost causing the seat to fall backward and break, but it just barely manages to stay upright with a very startled 42 and a strange soul like egg on his lap.]

42: H-How did you get here? And oh, u-uhm.. I… I don’t know what you are talking about…

[During 42′s stuttering he quietly tries to hide the egg in his lab coat. He seems reluctant about admitting what he was doing on the monitors, possibly due to the fact he was so spooked by Beta.. or maybe it was because of something else, something that was going wrong, but he himself didn’t know what… and what is that strange egg?]

He takes a step forward, ready to catch 42 in case he falls, but that doesn’t seem to happen. He pays the egg no mind. “The Same Way I Did Last Time. I’m Asleep.” Now… Is Something Wrong?“

[42 still seems to be a bit nervous, but he calms down a little after noticing Beta’s kind tone in his voice and feels embarrassed for reacting in such a drastic way, but the visitor seemed quite a bit nicer compared to the last time they had met. This spiked the question: how had he changed so much?]

42: Ah, of course. I had forgotten your methods of entering the void. 21, has gone missing, however this is nothing new as she is gone a lot of the time, most likely snooping on some poor soul in the void. I just feel like I am forgetting someone. I can actually pinpoint 21′s location with this.

[He fumbles with a small tablet like piece of technology and holds it up for Beta to see.]

42: I apologize for my initial reaction, I wasn’t expecting any visitors and well, you seem to have changed quite a bit since we last met. Did something happen?

[perseverantdoctor]

“Yes, Something Did Happen. Quite A Few Somethings, Actually. I’ll Spare You The Details For Now. They’re Not That Important.” Beta eyed the device with curious eye lights. He imagined the red dot marked 21’s location, based on how most tracking devices behaved. “Forgetting Someone…?”

[42 puts away the tablet and decides to trust Beta, slowly removing the strange egg from his coat, revealing it to the other gaster.]

[The flame that surrounds the soul doesn’t burn and only gives off a slight aura of warmth. When 42 holds it his his hands the flame flickers a bit but remains in its general egg-like state.]

42: You see... ever since this egg came into existence it feels as though there is someone I should know, someone which I’ve met, but I can't remember who. In attempt to find them I decided to search the monitors to see if I could figure anything out. No luck though.

Gaster? Can monsters die of a broken heart? Is it possible for monsters to die of sadness?

42: Im… not completely sure? Monsters don’t run on determination like humans do. So in an educated guess for now I would say no. However if a monster were to use determination and they lost this determination from sadness I have the theory that they would fade. Although this has not been tested (nor do I plan to test this directly) it is a strong plausibility.

A human appeared in the void. He frowned. "WHY CAN I NEVER ACTUALLY LAND IN A TIMELINE HALF THE TIME?" Tomson Rarer stamped his foot angrily

[42 was working at his computer but flinched from the sudden screeching of a person. He turned around to see the new stranger and pondered how so many end up in his home]

42:…. Can I help you..?

“Because, Ferrets work in mysterious ways. I will take some of these potatoes, and I feel my magic is a bit more up, so after I shall be heading off.” Tomson stretched. “I shall say that it was nice to meet you, and the Ferret.”

[42 nodded and waited for Tomson to pick up his chosen potatoes. After he had done so 42′s left eye sparks with a green glow as he levitates the remaining potatoes into a nearby crate which is moved into what seems to be a bedroom… except this bedroom has many items stored in boxes. Fireworks… bottles… explosives… and now potatoes. The bedroom seems to be for another being that is not 42, and it did not seem like the ferret’s bedroom. Either way it exists and seems to be commonly used as a storage room for the ferret’s projects.]

Tomson bowed at 42, “It was nice to meet you, 42, maybe next I return, or next you see of me, Grant will be along. He is my… ‘Brother’ you could say.” Tomson hoisted up the sack of potatoes. and disappeared.

42: It was nice to become acquainted with such a nice person like you. I hope to see you again soon.

[With that, 42 smiled as he waved good-bye to Tomson as the human disappeared.]
