Pinned Post, Third Time Lucky?

- Hi! I’m Amanda, and you can call me Fragment here on zee Tumblr. Frag can also work.

- I identify as chaotic bisexual (hi, elder millennial, been using bi for a long ass time) in a legal entanglement (married) for a ::cough:: LONG time with my partner J, hereto by referred to as Frag’s Spouse or Grim. He’s cool. I dig him.

- My pronouns are she/her.

- I’m currently owned by 4 inside cats, one inside-outside cat who is mostly inside now, and miss my two little old men dachshunds we lost in July ‘25 terribly.

- By day, I was (until recently) a librarian. Spent thirteen years in academia, did a year in public libraries, and I left because toxicity and overwork. I will say this; never sacrifice your mental or physical well being for a job.

- I am now a healthcare advocacy marketing person by day! I get to do things that make a tangible difference! I get to be vocal! YAY!!

- I’ve been a longtime (since c1) Critter thanks to the best fam in the world. One side of my family is deliciously nerdy and I adore them for it, and they are my collective favorites.

- I’m currently at 5 Critter tattoos (the Beacon, Catha/Ruidus, the Sun Tree, Cad’s staff, and a particular wizard pair holding hands) with more to come.

- Other things I will flail about are tabletop gaming, occasionally anime, info and media literacy (I have a degree in that), the bits of American history that you don’t get taught as in depth as you should (yep, also a degree in that), plants (heyyyy guess what ALSO A DEGREE IN THAT it took me a while to figure out what I wanted to be when I grew up), college sports, game shows in general, and clothing culture.

- In my spare time, I craft, read far too much (read; NEVER ENOUGH) fan fiction, play far too much (read; NEVER ENOUGH) campaign-based video games, and bake.

- I do have a love for applying academic theories and concepts to popular media, thus the series Fragment Gets Mildly Academic About <insert thing here>.

I’ve been hanging with two of the family units in that Branch of Awesomeness this week and I feel revived. I feel rejuvenated.

Never mind my cousin and I agree to disagree on Widojest versus Caleb and his purple bois. But we still love each other.

FELLOW BISEXUALS, I NEED A RULING FROM THE COUNCIL.

For many years now, I've been one of those Bis most prone to wearing a Hoodie, largely for the sake of convenience and comfort. But upon occasion, I am also known to wear Flannel, and largely for the same reasons.

My partner is all of a dither about this and insists that I simply CANNOT be both a Hoodie Bisexual and a Flannel Bisexual. (Yes, I attempted to explain about the Denim Jacket varietal, but I was not believed.)

My stance on matter is that if I can be attracted to two or more genders, with a certain amount of waffling on percentages depending on the day, then I can wear two or more signature articles of clothing. With pins even, should the occasion arise! (I have been known to rock a canvas bag with numerous buttons and patches, but this has less with being queer and more to do with being a 90s Kid.)

In that case, I am indeed wearing the proper uniform! Definitely a cryptid/true crime/horror movies/history/witchy stuff queer, which I understand is one of the standard configurations.

Alright Critter friends, I have a conundrum.

Episode 8 of M9 drops at 3 am local time on Monday.

Monday also happens to be the day I check into the hospital at 8:40 am for a life-changing surgery at around 10:40 am. I have the chance to be chronic pain and anemia-free for the first time…well, can’t quite say ever because it’s a problem that started with puberty. Let’s say it’s a chance to be pain and anemia free for the first time in 20+ years.

I am both excited and scared ever loving crapless over this. The nightmares of something going Very Wrong started this week because, yeah, I’m getting entire organ(s) removed either with robots or a 10-ish inch long incision, and apparently I was hard to wake up after getting knocked out for emergency surgery in September. (Honestly, I don’t remember that part…I remember being in the hall going to the OR and then bam, I’m waking up in the PACU.)

ANYHOW, I digress.

Should I watch the episode that morning or wait until I’m awake post-procedure?

When should your friendly neighborhood going-to-surgery Critter watch the next episode?

As soon as you wake up to drink that pure sugar pre-surgery drink they gave you

After you wake up in the hospital

As soon as you get home after surgery

Friends; it was Monday! Surgery went honestly better than expected (robots are awesome, they got EVERYTHING OUT), so I got to watch the episode yesterday in my recliner chair with Percy de Rolo the Fourth (my cat) curled up on me.
