as cliche as it sounds photography has been one of the few things that has truly saved my life and as made me want to get better in terms of my mental health

the urgency and excitement to get a roll developed gave me a small motivation to keep on going literally just so i can see the photos once they were ready to be picked up sometimes the only person i spoke to all day was the cashier who rang me up for my photos and that small interaction did bring me joy and a sense of belonging? idk but yeah

when you dip your toes in a variety of social groups ppl assume “oh! that person has lots of friends! they fit in everywhere they go” when really its more like “i actually feel like i dont belong Anywhere and i bounce around different friend groups and adopt mannerisms and colloquialisms to help me blend into a situation without sticking out too much and the loneliness that comes with constantly being in the periphery isn’t even worth the flimsy and hollow relationships you build anyway”
