The next morning, Woodstock wakes up, he looks down at his bowl before he flies over to the brown house, he kicks the door and yells, he then flies away.
Inside, sally is sitting on the bed as lucy stares at her.
"I can't go through another night like last night again." Sally said, fidgeting with her hands.
"Can't I try and find you another substitute or something, sally?" Lucy asks, she and Sally see Woodstock fly through the window, he then yells at lucy and points at his bowl.
"Would you give a starving bird a rubber worm?" Sally asks, Woodstock kicks lucy.
Later, the two girls walk over to the brick wall and lean on it.
"You know, lucy, when a child is without her security rabbit people don't realize what it does to her." Sally says solemnly.
"But that rabbit sure can cause you problems, sally." Lucy replied as she held onto sally's hand.
"Listen, lucy. That old rabbit soaks up all my fears and frustrations. Don't you have fears and frustrations, lucy?" Sally asked, glancing at lucy, who looks down.
Cut to Lucy's mind, where the children call her "blockhead" over and over before laughing at her.
Charlie Brown drops a Snowball on Lucy, Charlie Brown throws the Snowball at lucy, Peter kicks Lucy's sandcastle, Peter pushes Lucy off the swingset, Woodstock lays an egg on Lucy while flying and the egg falls on her, Charlie Brown pulls the football away on lucy, lucy standing in the baseball field during the rain.
Cut to a flashback with lucy, violet and peter;
"Here comes old lucy van pelt. Good old lucy van pelt. Yes, sir." Violet says as she and peter watch lucy walk by.
"How I hate her." Violet finished, Peter looks at her in confusion.Cut to the present, lucy tugs on sally's dress and uses it as a security blanket.
Later, during a baseball game, sally runs over to lucy.
"They found it! I'm saved!" Sally said in joy, running over to lucy with a Peter in her hand.
"Look, look! I got a telegram from the Air Rescue Service. They found my rabbit floating in the ocean. They even put it in the mail for me." Sally said, smiling.
"Wow!" Lucy replied in astonishment.
"I'll say. They found my rabbit, lucy. They found my rabbit." Sally said again, and the other children begin walking towards her, Charlie brown snatches the letter from her hands.
"Here's a telegram for you." Charlie brown says, his grip tightens on the letter.
"Grandma. One. more. day." Charlie brown says again, tearing the letter apart with each word before dropping the pieces on the ground, sally stares in sadness.
Later, lucy is trying to fly a kite while Charlie Brown is checking the mail and tossing them away as sally searches them.
"Uh, there's no mail for me?" Sally asks, looking up at Charlie Brown while picking up a leter.
"Why do you care if there's mail for you?" Charlie brown asked, tilting his head.
"No reason." Sally stuttered, Charlie Brown notices this and smiles.
"Ha! The Air Rescue Service mailed you your rabbit and you're waiting for it." Charlie brown says, pointing at the letters.
"If that rabbit of mine is lost in the mail, it's your fault, you know. They'll have to haul me away kicking and screaming." Sally says, crossing her arms in irritation.
"I crack up and they haul me away, what are you going to do?" Sally yells, raising her arms in the air.
"I'll write you." Charlie brown replies, crossing his arms.
the two children flinch when a loud explosion was heard, They look over, seeing that Lucy's kite exploded.
"That's the first time I've ever seen a kite explode." Sally says in surprise.
Later, sally was sitting on the bench with a sad expression.
"Hey, sally. Come here. Hurry." Lucy says, running over to sally, who gets up and follows her.
"I don't think your rabbit was lost in the mail at all." Lucy says while she's running.
The two girls head over to woodstock, who was sleeping in his nest, cuddling sally's rabbit toy.
"I might have known." Sally says, staring up.
Back at the brown house, sally was sitting on the couch, cuddling her rabbit toy.
"My rabbit. My beautiful rabbit. It's torn and it's damp, but it's mine." Sally says, nuzzling her face in the rabbit toy.
Sally then gets off the couch and hides her rabbit toy in the couch cushions, she walks away.
