#sorry to any friends who watch art commentary channels #however #i really despise this idea of just calling random people groomers when in reality theyve just done some scummy shit #theyre not. the same thing actually. and it doesnt mean minor x adult relationships either #like. grooming is a really serious thing and its being thrown around at people like snowballs in winter. do they even realize what that doe #personal example: i literally had no idea i was being groomed for almost my whole life until a therapist *actually* told me-#-what the official definition of grooming was and how my experience fell into it #its coercing someone into believing that something that is extremely dangerous and harmful is in fact not harmful at all #usually through use of various manipulation tactics #it commonly happens with kids because kids literally *cannot* sort through these manipulation tactics #especially if theyre young. but that doesnt mean its limited to *just* minors #it can happen in adult scenarios as well or with close age gaps. shit you can have the exact same bday and still get groomed #but it has a very specific definition. someone saying or doing some awful shit to you and thats it is not grooming. like its literally not #doesnt mean its good or accceptable! but it is not grooming. its scummy behavior or harassment or fucking whatever it ACTUALLY is #please. stop throwing around this word so freely. when you do that you detract all meaning of what it really is supposed to be #and that in turn causes ACTUAL VICTIMS (points to self) to not realize the situations theyre in #that or it will stir more shit in the pot by making people believe that even the SLIGHTEST wrong is a sign of grooming #a claim that is very serious and is rightful to leave someone over. can anyone at all see how bad that is.#fuck im so tired. the art community was about mary sue ocs and animemes and being gay and shit #what fucking happened

I do really think that the use of ChatGPT and genAI by students highlights the fundamental flaw of our education system focusing almost entirely on grades and test scores rather than generating curiosity and inquiry, which produces individuals who fundamentally do not understand that the purpose of an assignment is meant to be to learn *how* to do something, not simply to produce a product you can turn in to get an A+

#@ prev sorry but you reminded me of something and i need to yap abt it cause im fucking mad at this dumb ass shit ass genai shit #in one of our classes we had to do a group assignment for a research paper #and when it came time to write the paragraphs for the research paper this one gal in our group was supposed to write the introduction #because she hadnt been doing jack shit for the entire project until now #and i was surprised to see that she actually got it done #so later i go to check all of the paragraphs weve written and compiled together bc i need them to write the conclusion #and as i was reading through the intro. i noticed a specific source that was 'Kim 2018'#first of all. we did have a source for kim available for use but the correct writing of the source was 'Kim et al. 2020.'#the date wasnt even right. not only that but 2018 is too outdated for us to use in our paper #and then. i checked what was actually being referenced in the paper from that source #turns out. the stuff being said in reference here was 1. not a reported source #and 2. was not even in the CORRECT source #so literally just a made up source. TWICE IN THE INTRO. like a stain on our fucking paper #and i had a DEEP feeling that this was written by some kind of gen ai because of that #and if we had not reported the use of it in our paper we would have gotten MAJOR docked points #tldr: to the one member in our group who definitely used gen ai and tried to pass off a nonexistent source as real in our paper: fuck you #if you think im fucking stupid youre wrong. you couldve cost our entire group so many fucking points if i had not caught that
